Chapter Four

The Council of Galadriel

"Yes, Gandalf, I understand what you are saying. If it is what the council wishes and it must be done, then I shall let them go," said Legolas Greenleaf who, even though 3054 years old (This is many years after the events of RotK), looked at most 35. "I am sure Laitoste will object, but she knows that summons can not be broken."

"You realize we mustn't linger. We must be on the move tonight," stated Gandalf.

"Yes, I realize that Gandalf. I do wish I could go with them, but matters here must be attended to. Many things that I must do," replied Legloas. "If they pass through Lorien, I might be able to join them, with the leave of the fair lady, of course."

Galadriel walked in just then, followed by two of her assistants,Ohtare and Polde, Mike, Callo, Perk, Heero and Meldince Treeholm (Callo's Father).

"This meeting shall begin now. I need not any more delays in my schedule. Unless you can convince me otherwise, I feel that my decision has already been made," stated Galadriel.

"In whose favor does your decision lean, m'lady?" asked Mike.

"My decision is not to meddle in man's affairs once again. We paid too handsome a price last time," stated Galadriel. "And, Manveru (Mike's real name), I would appreciate it if you did not call me m'lady or any of that ilk. Galadriel or Lady Galardiel suits me and has suited me for the last 5,000 years.

"Yes, Lady Galadriel," Mike replied

The seating arrangement was set at a large rectangular table with Gandalf, Mike, Perk, and Legolas on one side parallel to Heero, Cal, Meldince, and Galadriel.

"Well then," said Gandalf getting out of his seat. "I must convince you otherwise."

"Good luck doing that," Mike muttered in a tone only the wizard would be able to hear.

"Indeed," he whispered back.

"What argument have you brought for your rebuttal, Greyhame?" Galadriel asked in a challenging tone.

"What have not I brought, Galardriel?" Gandalf retorted in a fierce tone. "You must remember what is at stake here. Do not even think about personal gain or personal losses now, we must think overall. If that power is able to overthrow man, then all hope is lost. Chaladious the Black was a member of the White Council, formerly known as Chaladious the Silver. He has, however, like Saruman before him, embraced the darkness of Sauron and the evil demons that follow his evil rule. You know not of his power, do you Galadriel? His power now surpasses my own due to the power of Sauron and the various other demons. I wish not to explain what he will do when the time is ripe, for you have already foreseen it, haven't you. If this is not taken care of now, we shall all be doomed. Unless we unite all hope has been lost. So, as I have stated earlier, do not take pride, gain, loss, or any other selfish factors into this matter. We are battling for Middle-Earth, not ourselves. I shall leave you with that."

Gandalf walked back over to his seat and sat down, smiling towards Mike, who was, in a sort, in awe over the Wizard's words. It finally set in on him. They were not merely going for some meeting in Rivendell they were going on a journey to decide the fate of Middle Earth.

"Your words have taken an affect to my decision," replied Galadriel. "I must think. My decision must be delayed a little while longer."

With that, Galadriel walked to dileberate in another room, followed by Othare and Polde.
