Chapter 3 - Sleeping Beauty She is Not
Shinzui woke to sunlight shining right into her eyes. She attempted to roll over but wince at that small pain on her rib cage. She ran her hand over the area and felt the bandages.
`Where the hell am I...And why am I half undressed!?'
She sat up suddenly and reached for her near by armor, she quickly dressed and pressed her form against the den's wall, slowly sliding towards the entrance she used her miko powers to search for anything familiar near by. She felt her aura flare and then she heard a small clicking chatter.
`Tsukai, go retrieve Uindo quickly.' She whispered in her mind.
The falcon screeched from the near by forest and took flight. Shinzui slide back deeper inside the den, looking for her weapon. After a bit of searching she found it, she took care to retie her armor, and to refasten her sword at her hip. She sudden stiffened at the sounds of near by voices drifting into the den.
“Kyoumou, even if that falcon was watching for her why would it take off, he's got to be in tune with her. Please go and check on her” a female voice spoke softly.
“She's fine Kaze, she's still out from the medicinal herbs I gave her, and they will keep her sedated for awhile now.” Kyoumou half snorted. “Fine Kyoumou I will go and check on her.” Kaze spoke with irritation at the young man's demeanor.
Just as Kaze was going to step foot into the den, Uindo broke into the camp at full tilt, followed by Tsukai. He was a glorious sight to Shinzui. His large heavy hooves pounded into the dirt and sent it flying behind him, it made the ground thunder. His long heavy mane and tail trailed behind him and he thundered past shocked onlookers. Never have they had an invasion such as this. Uindo ran over right over to Kyoumou's den, sending him off balance from the shock. He stopped short of running right into the den, Tsukai sent out a piercing screech. Shinzui thanked the gods he came so quickly. She ran out of the den and mounted her pure black steed quickly. Kyoumou looked at her, her amour shone brightly in the sun, her hair flowed gently around her from the wind, and in his eyes she was a vision of beauty.
“Till next time Kyou, we will meet again my friend.” She spoke softly to him.
Shinzui gently pressed her heels into Uindo and he reared up and started off in a light gallop. She was almost out of the camp when a flash of silver caught her eye.
“Oi! Get back here, you have some explaining to do bitch!” Kyoumou bellowed at her while he kept pace with Uindo. Shinzui immediately halted Uindo who snorted as the wolf demon paced around him, he whirled around always keeping the wolf demon in his sights, and he would not let Shinzui face him alone.
“Easy Uindo, calm yourself, I can handle him.” She whispered to the black steed that still stomped his hooves on the soft earth.
“I would refrain from challenging Uindo or me Kyou.”
“Quite using my name like I am a commoner wench.” Kyoumou snorted still pacing around the large black horse. “Only 2 people used that name for me and your not one of them.” He spat at her. Uindo had enough of his challenge and reared up and slammed his front hooves down, thundering through the ground. He steadied his head and glared at the wolf demon. The next thing was totally unexpected by Kyoumou, the crystal in the armor that horse wore began to glow brightly and shot forth and single bolt of lighting. Shinzui sat on his back with a half smirk. “I warned you Kyou, we are quite formidable together.”
“Kaze!” Shinzui sneered, “You better refresh this pups' memory or have his nose checked.” “Shinzui” she spoke softly, “you were but a child when you were taken from…” “Enough Kaze!” she roared, “Your pack forgot about me, and destroyed my faith in your leader. I bow to no one now, I follow no one but myself, and this pup is best to forget whatever he has as pleasant memories of me, because it will do him no good in battle.” Kaze took a small step forward, making Uindo rear up again. She spoke softly, “Shin, he doesn't remember, after the attack, he was badly beaten defending the camp and you, we thought both of you were dead.”
“That matters not to me Kaze, next time we meet it will not be pleasant.” She snorted. “Kyou, you better start learned how to properly use Koumeiseidai, other wise you will not see another dawn.” She reared Uindo up again, shaking the ground as he thundered off. Kyoumou stood there, his mind racing.
`She knew the swords name…'
`No shit dumbass…'
`But what did I forget about her?....attack?....they thought us dead? Why can't I remember it?'
`God do I have to everything, ask Kaze! She called her Shin, she knows who she is!'
Kyoumou whirled around to face Kaze who was startled by his sudden movement. “Kaze, you better start talking” he said in a half snarl.
When they were far enough away from camp Shinzui slowed Uindo down to a walk and hugged the horse around its' neck. “Thank you my friend”, she whispered as she rubbed down his shoulder. Uindo gave a short snort of approval.
`Kaze better not be lying about this, stupid old ookami, she should have realized I was not dead, the balance would have been upset.'
`Yeah but Kyoumou was looking mighty fine now, he certainly did grow to fill his armor in all the right spots', Shinzui's usually dormant youkia piped in.
`So the pup has forgotten everything before the invasion, too bad I wasn't that blessed.' She sighed.
`He isn't a pup no more Zui, just imagine what it would be like to mate with him, holy man that just makes up thirst for it right there,' her youkia growled low.
She dismounted Uindo and walked over to a nearby stream; she peered over and snorted her own image just before she gathered some water in her hands to rinse off her face.
`Just because he promised when we were cubs doesn't mean he'll do it now.' She licked her lips lightly. `But he did look good enough to...' Just as she was to finish her thought she was pinned to the ground.
“Too easy to track you wench when you're riding around on Uindo.” He snorted a mere inches away from her face. “K…Kyoumou.” She stammered. She began to blush slightly as she realized the position he had pinned her down in. He was on top of her, straddling her hips with both of her wrists pinned up beside her head. She could feel his heavy warm breath on her collarbone and shoulder, his tail tickled the inside of her thighs. She looked him over, his silver armor glinted in the sun, his high ponytail spilled down on his shoulders, his eyes, ice blue, pierced her right to the spot on the ground. She didn't know what to do laugh, moan or thrash out against him. She opted for the last.
“Get off of me Kyou.” Shinzui hissed at him.
