BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ!
“Ugh. Damn alarm clock” mumbled the young brunette as he slammed a fist over the alarm to stop the infernal buzzing. Young Sora then returned to sleep until he awoke many minutes later realizing that it was now 7:30 am.
“Oh my God! I'm gonna be late for my first day at school!”
The young brunette hurried to get dressed and ran into his closet with great speed to pick out his clothes for the day. He struggled to find anything so he just put on a blood red t-shirt with a pair of night black shorts.
The blue eyed teen looked at himself in the full length mirror in his room admiring himself until he saw his hair. The blue eyed teen tried to place his hair where he wanted it, but his hair would not cooperate, it never did, so he decided to give up. He hurried down stairs to be greeted by his mother.
“Good morning Son. Are you ready for your first day at Destiny High?”
“Sure am” spoke the young brunette with a smile on his face “but I'm late and I have to meet Kairi at her house so we can walk to school together, so I better go before she gets mad at me, again.”
“Okay, but get something to eat at school so you don't starve okay?”
“Okay mom, gotta go, love ya, bye!” Sora rushed with speaking knowing that Kairi would be irritated at him for being late. He shut the door and ran to meet his girlfriend.
Kairi was waiting impatiently outside her home in a whit tank top and lavender skirt, until she saw her boyfriend running towards her.
“Hey…. Kai…ri..” said the blue eyed teen out of breath after running three blocks to get to her house.
“You're late, as usual” sighed Kairi.
“I'm sorry, I kinda overslept” replied Sora.
“That's so typical of you” mocked the young girl.
“Well I'm here aren't I?” said the young brunette as he kissed Kairi softly on the lips. Feeling her kiss back he entered his tongue into the girl's soft lips massaging the young girl's tongue, until she broke off the kiss.
“We're going to be late for our first class if we keep this up Sora!”
“Fine let's go” spoke Sora taking Kairi's hand before heading for their first day at Destiny High.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing!
“Oh no! We're gonna be late for our first class!” shrieked a worried Sora. “Don't worry we can still make it if you pick up pace!” yelled an annoyed Kairi leaving Sora's hand to locate their class.
Sora couldn't help but notice how big the school was, there was a huge auditorium, two libraries, a massive gym, and grass and trees where ever a person looked.
Sora could see many other students rushing to their classes. He was admiring the beauty of the school when he noticed a silver haired teen walking casually through the school gates looking as though he didn't care that he was about to be late.
Sora was unable to stop gawking at the silver haired teen's beauty. The young brunette could see the boy's muscular arms showing from the his sleeveless black shirt.
He saw the teen's muscular physique showing from the tight shirthe was wearing. Yet what captivated Sora the most were the silver haired teen's turquoise eyes glowing and sparkling in the sun's rays making the teen look angelic.
Sora was unable to stop his gaze at the teen's eyes which were now staring back at him. Sora quickly turned around and ran to where Kairi was staring at a map of the school, he couldn't keep himself from blushing with embarrassment.
“What's wrong Sora?” giggled Kairi, “You're as bright as a ripe tomato!”
“Um, it must be the sun,” Sora lied, knowing it was the gaze of the silver haired teen which made the young brunette blush. “Was there affection in that guy's eyes?” Sora thought thinking back to his awkward staring contest with the silver haired teen.
Sora was immediately brought back down to reality when Kairi yelled “Whatever, we gotta hurry to class” “Oh my God we're gonna be late!” were the young brunette's final words before bring dragged to room 310.
(A/N that's my birthday!)
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing!
The final bell sounded just as Kairi and Sora took their seats next to their old middle school friends. Tidus a young hyperactive blond whose mouth gets him into loads of trouble, Wakka a nice young fella with a cool accent, and Selphie a girl who loves to gossip about everyone. The group exchanged their greetings before their new teacher walked in.
The class silenced almost immediately to the point you could hear a pin drop.
“Good morning class” spoke a gentle but strong voice, “I am Yuna, your history teacher for the ninth grade. Please do not call me Ms. or Mrs. because that makes me sound old, so you may all just call me Yuna”
Sora saw that she looked like she was in her mid-twenties. She was wearing a white tank top and had short hair, but their appeared to be a long braid coming from the back of her head.
Yuna had a strange pair of eyes that Sora found to be weird, one eye was as blue as the young brunettes, but her other eye was a light shade of green. Sora merely thought that she was wearing contacts. Sora continued his observations with the new teacher and noticed her extremely short skirt which had caught the eyes of many male students in the room.
Sora thought that the skirt must have been against dress code, but he came out of what he was thinking by Tidus who whispered a little too loudly, “She looks smoking!” Everyone giggled at the remark Tidus had made.
“Why thank you, but I don't think you're my type” replied Yuna throwing the kids into a fit of laughter. Sora saw Tidus put his head down in embarrassment.
Yuna was about to call roll when the door to the room swung open and a silver haired teen walked and sat at the desk directly behind Sora. “You're late” spoke Yuna in an annoyed voice. The silver haired teen stood up to present his excuse with a smirk on his face.
“Sorry Teach, but I was kinda sleepy so I took a nap in the garden before coming in so I could be good and ready to learn whatever it is you're teaching.” He spoke the last part with a sarcastic tone.
His excuse immediately raised a laugh from everyone except Sora. Sora found the silver haired teen to be quite rude and not caring of what people thought of him, but he would at least try to befriend him.
“You must call me Yuna, not Teach, and I won't mark you down, but only because it's the first day of school” said Yuna sounding very irritated.
“Gee Teach, I don't know what to say, but if I didn't know any better I'd say you have a crush on me.” Replied the teen with the smirk never leaving his face.
This made the kids laugh so hard that many classrooms around them could hear them howling in laughter. “This kid could be trouble, but I should still at least try to be his friend, just to be nice” thought Sora.
“I'll get you for this kid” mumbled Yuna so softly that almost no one heard her over the laughter, except for Sora. “Yuna just sounded vengeful” thought Sora “isn't that against the law or something, maybe she's just kidding around with herself” he would have continued thinking up reasons for what Yuna said, but Yuna began to speak, “Well class, instead of me taking roll, why doesn't everyone introduce themselves?”
Kairi immediately shot her hand up and waved it frantically until Yuna called on her. Kairi stood up and pulled a now blushing Sora up with her.
“Hi my name is Kairi, and this is my boyfriend Sora!” she then kissed him vigorously. Sora could hear the kids howling and whistling, so he broke the kiss feeling embarrassed that he was getting so much attention. As he returned to his seat he saw the silver haired teen look at him with a disappointing look on his face.
“Please keep your relationship business outside class” said Yuna with a grin on her face, “Now why don't you introduce yourself funny boy”
Knowing that Yuna was talking to him, the silver haired teen stood up from his seat, but was silent. All he was doing was staring at Sora with his enchanting turquoise eyes.
Sora couldn't help but stare back, and he couldn't stop himself from breaking the teen's gaze until the silver haired teen began to speak returning his attention to Yuna.
“My name is Riku Vale…tine” began the silver haired teen. “So that's his name” thought Sora as Riku continued. “I'm 14, single at the moment” staring at Sora as he said that, “and I'm gay.”
Many students began to laugh thinking that what he said was a joke, but Sora saw the seriousness in Riku's eyes as he said those last words. Riku sat back down with a blank expression on his face while the rest of the class introduced themselves to everyone.
“Finally, lunch” thought Sora as he entered the lunch room with Kairi at his side.
“Can you get my food for me pretty pleeeeeeeeeease?” whined Kairi.
“Um, okay I guess” said Sora before she ran off to Selphie who was talking about who knows what.
He was done to paying for their food and was going to walk to Kairi, but stopped when he saw turquoise eyes staring at him from a table not to far. Riku was sitting alone, Sora thought that Riku wasn't making any new friends, and it didn't look like he wanted to. He decided to be nice and sit with Riku.
“Hiya!” greeted Sora as he sat across from Riku.
“Hey” was the only reply he from the silver haired teen.
“Um, my name is…”
“Sora” finished the silver haired teen, “I remember, you're the one with the lovey dovey girlfriend who kissed you, but you didn't kiss her back.” He reminded with a smirk.
“That's because I don't like to kiss in public” Sora murmured.
“Are you sure that's the real reason?” questioned Riku, “maybe you need to be kissed by the right person” he spoke seductively his eyes meeting with the blue sapphires on the young brunette's face.
“What are you trying to say?” began Sora with slight anger in his voice, “that I don't like being kissed by my girlfriend?” his eyes never leaving the emerald ones staring back at him.
“I'm just saying that maybe you're playing on the wrong team” spoke Riku seductively.
“WHAT!” shouted Sora that the people around them could hear him, “Just because you're gay doesn't mean that the entire world is!” shouted Sora who was now infuriated.
“I'm aware of that, but how do you know if your not, gay that is?”
“I have a girlfriend for one!” argued the young brunette.
“ I don't believe that's entirely true” replied Riku with his voice calm and no hint of anger for being shouted at, “You may be her boyfriend in her eyes, but in your eyes she is not your girlfriend, and you are completely aware of this, so calm down before you start a scene.”
Sora took a deep breath before continuing, “I'm sorry for shouting at you, I just came so that maybe we could be friends.”
Riku stared blankly at him for awhile before speaking, “Okay then, I accepts your offer of friendship...so now that we're friends you have to be honest with me.”
“Okay what do you want to know?” said Sora now regretting that he had come to be friends with the silver haired teen.
“Actually it's too public here, why don't you come over after school so we can bond” he spoke the last words very seductively before writing down his address on the palm of the young brunette.
“Can't wait” he whispered into Sora's ear before leaving the lunch room. Kairi sat next to him with Selphie by her side who asked “What were you doing with the new guy?”
“We were just talking” said Sora before stuffing himself with food to avoid telling Kairi what Riku had said to him “In your eyes she is not your girlfriend.” Sora couldn't get that out of his mind for the rest of day still thinking about whether he should go to Riku's house or not.
School was now over and Sora was walking Kairi home. They walked all the way there in silence as the sun began to set over the hills bordering their small town. To Kairi the sunset was romantic, but to Sora it only reminded him if he should go to Riku's or not.
Before he knew it they were at Kairi's house and she was waiting for her good night kiss. Sora couldn't understand why, but he did not want to kiss Kairi tonight.
That made him feel guilty about Riku saying he didn't think of her as his girlfriend, so he gave her a quick peck on the lips. Kairi looking disappointed before heading inside after saying goodnight to Sora. The young brunette just stood outside thinking about the consequences of going to Riku's house.
He began to walk and think “What's the worse that could happen?” He thought and answered back, “He could tell why you've been feeling so lousy around Kairi lately. Actually this all started when I saw him entering the school gates. His strong eyes overpowered me and I was captivated by them and I've been thinking about him ever since. Maybe it wouldn't be such a bad thing if I just went over to say “hi”, that would be the polite thing to do.”
He looked to see where he was and was surprised that he was in front of Riku's house. Well according to the address on his hand he was standing right in front of the silver haired teen's home.
The young brunette mustered up all the courage he had and knocked on door the hoping that the teen's parents would not answer. He was glad that Riku had opened the door, but he had a perplexed look on his face.
“Wow, I'm impressed. I didn't think you were going to actually come.”
“Why wouldn't you think I was coming?” asked the young brunette beginning to shiver from the cold.
“Well for one you had so much fear in your eyes when I asked you” replied Riku with a smirk on his face.”
“Well I'm here now just like how a friend would be”
Riku taking notice that Sora was shivering invited him inside, “Why don't you come inside before you catch a cold?”
“Thanks” replied Sora.
As Sora entered Riku's home he was comforted with warmth. He followed Riku up stairs into his room which was unbelievably messy. He tried to look for a place to sit but failed not wanting to touch any of Riku's dirty boxers which were lying around everywhere.
Riku then dumped everything off of a chair for Sora to sit on. Sora took his seat and waited for Riku to speak, but Riku did not. Instead the piercing gaze of the silver haired teen was looking at Sora seductively, and once again Sora returned the gaze with his blue eyes which seem to be nothing compared to that of the teen's turquoise eyes. Sora finally used all his strength and looked away from Riku.
“Why do you keep looking at me like that?” asked the young brunette.
“Because your eyes are so beautiful, I just can't help myself I always get caught up in your stare.” Replied Riku with truth in his voice so that Sora believed him.
“But I don't mean to stare at you” began Sora, “it's just that you always look at me first.”
“I suppose that's true, but you're a hard thing not to look at.” With seduction never leaving the teen's voice.
Sora blushed without wanting to and Riku looked at him as if the blush was for him to continue flirting with the young brunette, but instead asked the question he wanted to ask in the lunch room earlier that day.
“Sora” he began speaking softly, “why do you continue your relationship with Kairi if you know by now that you're just using her?”
Sora was caught off guard and was pulled by two emotions, anger and guilt.
“I want you to be honest with me Sora, you said you were my friend and friends are honest with each other.”
Sora looked up and was greeted by emerald eyes and spoke, “I'll tell you if you answer me a question first.” Unsure of what he was getting himself into.
“Okay then, shoot” replied Riku.
“Um…” “I can't believe I'm asking this!” Thought Sora before continuing, “Do…. um….geez…. like me? Riku stared at him for what seemed to be an eternity before answering.
“I'm not sure…” “What the hell am I saying? Why won't I lie and just make him sleep with me already!” He thought to himself, “because you don't want to hurt this one, there is something special about him and you can't hurt him because you may be falling for him.” Riku thought slowly
“Look I am definitely attracted to you, hell who wouldn't be, but I don't know if I can “like” you for your own protection.” He said coldly.
“What do you mean?” asked Sora wanting to know after he came to a conclusion about Riku's earlier question.
“Drop it, just answer my question.” Said Riku still sounding cold and empty.
Sora took in a deep breath of air, “okay… I now know that you are right…I am using Kairi…I am using her because…I'm…in denial…” admitted Sora.
“Denial of what?” asked Riku who knew what Sora was going to say, but wanted him to say for his own benefit.
“Denial that I'm gay…” mumbled Sora hoping that Riku heard him so that he didn't need to repeat it.
“What?” said Riku hoping that Sora would be able to confront whatever fear was holding him back from saying the truth.
“I SAID THAT I'M GAY!” shouted Sora tears now falling from his blue eyes.
Riku walked over to Sora and gave him a much needed hug. He was shocked that Sora didn't try and push him off, but instead hugged him back.
They stayed like that for hours. Riku let Sora cry his feelings out until he thought he was finished. When Sora was finally finished he looked into Riku's emerald eyes which were looking back. Sora moved in closer as he was about to kiss Riku, but Riku pulled away dropping Sora who was using Riku to hold himself up.
“What did you do that for!” cried Sora who was recovering from the fall to the floor.
“I told you…” spoke Riku trying to fight every urge in his body not to tackle the brunette down and shower him with kisses, “I can't kiss you right now…”
“Why not!” yelled Sora feeling rejected.
“You're just confused and I don't want to take advantage of you…” said Riku struggling to stay in control of his hormones, “Come back when you are sure of what you want…”
“I know what I want! And what I want is you!” yelled Sora, “Why won't you give me what I want?” asked Sora more calm now.
“I just can't, you'll get hurt” struggled Riku using every ounce of strength he had to restrain himself from doing something he would regret. “I think it would be better if you left now…” he managed to say.
“Fine…” said Sora on the verge to tears again, “but I will get what I need and what I need you…” he said before leaving Riku's room and home and ran home to think about what he was going to tell his mom and Kairi. Sora shed more tears before crying himself to sleep.
