Sheik sat alone atop the tower, feeling weakened from the double-dose force-fed potion. It tasted horrible. Now he knew how Malon felt when she had to drink it last night. A single barred window let in a tiny glow emitting from a full moon.

But the moon was not alone. It was accompanied by thousands upon thousands of tiny stars, each beautiful in their own way. Sheik yawned as he picked out a star randomly from the sky. “That one's name is Bob.” He let his eyes wander the sky a second time to find another one. “That one's Miss Jane…and the one over there is Little Daisy.”

Two stars slightly bigger than the other ones suddenly seemed to appear. Ether that, or Sheik somehow missed them before…or maybe he just didn't want to see them. The two brightly-lit stars twinkled around the gigantic full moon, one on the right side of it, the other on the left. It was like they were being separated by force. “Malon and Sheik. Her and me.

The moon's massiveness seemed to belittle the stars, and Sheik didn't fail to notice. “That's the rapist. HE DESERVES TO DIE!” He picked up a nearby rock and furiously flung it through the bars at the moon, expecting it to somehow shatter and let the stars have their peace and room. But he knew it was, sadly, a mere wish, and the rock predictably plummeted to the ground.

So instead, he looked on, staring at its enticing glimmer and whispering a single name over and over again. “Malon…Malon…Malon…”

Malon just couldn't sleep, so she looked through the bars on the back wall and eyed the giant full moon. It was wondrously breathtaking. But something didn't feel quite right about it. Two rather large stars sparkled next to it. She noticed one on the right side and the other on the left.

“How ironic.” She snorted. “I wouldn't be surprised if those stars were named Malon and Link, and the moon was named `Falsely Diagnosed Schizophrenia.' If Link were here, he'd come and get me out of this. He always knows how.”

She fantasized of her hero, green-garbed and holding a sword in his left hand. Envisioning him galloping down the halls on his steed (and her best friend) Epona, he picked her up by the waist and set her down in the saddle. Then he sat behind her and warned her to hold on tight. Then they'd be on their merry way.

But that wasn't the only possibility she thought of.

“Or maybe the stars' names are Malon and Sheik, and the moon is the guard…or Ivo.”

She had another fantasy, but this time it was with her and Sheik. She imagined him swimming in Lake Hylia, nude and free. She jumped in after him, also naked, and they chased after each other in the water, laughing about their silly childish games. Then they
both swam to shore and made passionate love, savoring each tender kiss and whispering secrets into each others ears.

Malon's daydream abruptly stopped. “I wonder if Sheik is looking at the moon right now. He has a nice view of the tower…unless that potion already knocked him out.”

“Malon, my love, when I gather my strength again we will be together…forever.” Sheik put his right hand on his heart in promise. Then he fell to the ground, unconscious.

The next morning, Malon awoke to the bar door sliding open.

“Last day, lady.” The guard reminded her. “Makes my job easier.” He mumbled silently.

“Then can I see Sheik one last time?” Malon asked.

“No, it's forbidden.”

“Please, I am begging you, this is urgent.” She pleaded, gazing longingly out the small bar window in her cell, which gave her a view of the tower. Something was on it. In fact, it was crawling down the side! “You know what? Never mind!” she grinned.

“Okay, whatever.” The guard pointed to where the prisoners were heading. “Just follow them to the breakfast hall.”

“Yes, sir.” She headed towards the breakfast hall to have her last breakfast there. `I knew you'd find a way to escape, Sheik!' she thought. Just as she sat down to have a meal she began to hear the sound of breaking dishes.

And there Sheik was, standing on a table, kicking the dishes off and quickly dodging the guards, who attempted to pounce on him to stop him. Cheers erupted from the dining hall. Everyone was ecstatic to see Sheik. People tended to gravitate towards him.

“Malonnnnnnnn!”

“Sheeeeeeeeik!”

Sheik jumped from tabletop to tabletop hopping like a frog would until he ended up at Malon's table. He grabbed her by the waist, pulled her into his arms and threw a Deku Nut down, which exploded, leaving a puff of smoke behind.

When Malon could see again, she saw she was not in prison anymore, but at Lake Hylia!

“Malon,” Sheik began as he set her down on the shore, “I have finally escaped, and so have you.”

“But…how? And won't we get in trouble when we're caught again?!”

“I just needed a little sleep and some of that potion to help my disappearing act a bit. And no, we won't get in trouble. I promise you, they won't find us.”

“Give me more details.”

“Having some sleep and drinking that potion gave me a dream. In the dream, we were together, nurturing each other and making love. And then a voice told me…recite this poem while holding out three Deku Nuts;

Nayru, Goddess of Wisdom,
In my plight
Let me spread
My wings in flight
And let me go where my mind wanders.”

“That's a pretty poem.”

“Yes, it is. Anyway, the voice also informed me of some old, rotten Deku Nuts under a haystack. When I woke up, I looked towards the direction of the haystack in my cell and dug through it. Surely enough they were there. I recited the poem and the Deku Nuts were blessed with the power to let me go anywhere I want by throwing it down and wishing for the place. But the catch is I only get three teleports.”

“So, why'd you climb down the tower when you could just wish yourself out of it?”

“I had to get you first, and I didn't want to use up the Deku Nuts so hastily. You see, I used to be able to wish myself to nearly anywhere with the magical nuts, but I was informed after reciting the poem that these were going to be the last teleportation Deku Nuts I would get for a while. They're not easy to enchant and magically enhance, you know.”

“Well, then…thank you for saving me.” Malon kissed Sheik on the cheek.

“Aw, it was nothing.” He blushed. “So, what do you want to do now?”

“I want to go to wherever Link is.”

“WHAT?!” he suddenly choked.

“I don't think you know him. I and a childhood friend are the only ones who remember him. Is something wrong?”

“N-no…let's just go.” Sheik readied the remaining Deku Nuts.
