Malon awoke in the morning to find Nego and Suno hovering over her.
“Aah!” she exclaimed in fright.
“Hey, bitch. Ivo sent us here to tell you that-” Nego began.
“-he'll make sure he gets you pregnant the next time you're back if he hasn't knocked you up already,” Suno finished.
“What?! Why the hell is he so obsessed with getting kids?!” Malon hollered.
“He thinks that with you being such a damn pretty bitch and with him being the most handsome man in all the land-” Nego explained.
“Besides us, brother!” Suno corrected.
“Of course, but don't tell him we said that!” They both snickered.
“Anyway, he thinks he'll have some pretty damn good-looking kids. And he wants to pass on his genes and family name, of course.”
“He can pass on his genes with another woman. I don't want to take any part in it.”
“Too bad. He chose you. He likes ya, so you should be flattered.”
“Well, I'm not.”
“If you're not already pregnant, he'll just attempt to get you pregnant again.” They both warned. “See ya.” They left, sniggering about the situation.
Dr. Aldez walked in. “Who are those two?”
“Ivo's younger twin brothers.” Malon said.
“Oh, I see. So, you'll have to take your dose of potion right now…”
“Wait,” Malon interrupted. “I…I want to take a pregnancy test first.”
“Why? And can't this wait until before you leave?”
“Look, I just need to take the test. It's a long story, so I don't feel like explaining it. And no, this can't wait until before I leave. I need to know right away.”
“Alright, come with me.” Dr. Aldez helped Malon up, since her arms were still strapped, and led her to another room. “This,” she said, “is a pregnancy potion. It will test if you're going to be a parent or not.”
Malon cringed at the thought of more drugs being pumped into her, but she needed to know if a child was conceived or not.
“You will drink it, and within a few minutes, if you urinate it back out, you're pregnant. But we check your urine just in case, because sometimes patients will piss it out and end up not being pregnant because their body just reacted strangely to the potion. Got it?”
She nodded.
“Okay, here you go.” She held the open bottle up to Malon's face and let her drink the potion. “I'll be back in about five minutes. When I get back, tell me if you have to urinate.” Her high-heels tapped as she walked out of the cold room.
Malon lay down on the table, draped with a clean towel. “I really, really hope I don't have to piss…”
Five minutes passed quickly, and Malon sat up.
“Do you have to go?” Dr. Aldez asked.
Malon began to sweat, feeling a bit of pressure build up inside of her. “Y-yes…”
“Okay, now urinate in this cup, and we'll test it one last time. It'll take a few hours, so we'll inform you as soon as we find out.” She took the straps off of Malon and left her alone to urinate in the cup. When the doctor came back, she handed it to her.
“Thank you,” she said.
Malon wondered how she managed to keep a straight face when thanking patients for a cup of piss, but she was too worried to go into that thought any deeper. The doctor put her in the straps again and helped her to her feet. When they got back to the cell, she fed her the other potion and left her to be knocked out once more.
She had never been so glad to fall asleep. She didn't want to worry about if she was pregnant or not. She prayed that Ivo's sperm somehow managed to fail to make contact, but judging by how deep he thrust himself, and how he came, that was a slim chance.
Waking up an hour later, Malon gasped when Dr. Knil stood over her.
“WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO?! GIVE ME A HEART ATTACK?!”
“Sorry, my dear. I had to wake you so that we could make up for the lost appointments.”
“Oh, great.” She mumbled groggily. “Okay, shoot. Ask away.”
“First of all, how is this potion treating you?”
“It feels great to pass out all the time. Really, it does. I must've passed out at least ten times this week, and it never gets tiring!” Malon hoped he could sense her sarcasm.
“This is a very powerful drug, dear. We don't use it often. But in your case, it's needed.”
“You know what? I'm going to tell you the truth. I faked this `major concussion' because I thought it'd be easier to escape through a closer route to the exit, but apparently it's impossible when your arms are tied together with straps and you're sent in a padded room where you pass out from the fucking drugs! I lied, okay? I LIED!”
Dr. Knil seemed a bit shocked, maybe even disappointed, but not quite upset. “Didn't you consider the consequences?”
“No, mostly because I don't see how things could get any worse. Why the fuck won't you just let me go? I failed you, didn't I? I'm incurable! Get over it!”
“You're never going to be cured with an attitude like that.”
“I was being sarcastic! I'm not fucking mental! I've been telling you that for years! Why is it so damn hard to believe my stories? Are they that farfetched?!”
“Malon, nobody has witnessed any of your sights. It's obvious they're hallucinations.”
“Or maybe nobody got the chance to see them,” she pointed out.
“I already told you, hallucinations feel very real to the point where you believe in things other people just can't see. Why don't you give this logic a chance?”
“Because I know it's real! I know it! Please, please, please believe me for once, damn it!”
Dr. Knil sighed. “You're definitely the most stubborn patient I've ever dealt with.”
A knock sounded on the door, and Dr. Aldez entered the room. “Oh, Dr. Knil, I didn't know you were in here. Um…perhaps I could have a word alone with Malon?”
He silently nodded and walked away.
“Your test came back.”
Malon felt her stomach creep up on her, and she felt like she was about to vomit.
“You're pregnant.”
