It was raining. It had been doing that a lot in New York recently. The
city appeared to almost be made of silver as all the water glistened
down its buildings and pattered softly onto the street and the people
who walked them. Except for one person. The rain seemed to swerve
around him as he walked, just because it felt like it.

The person smiled. He had never once imagined that such a world could
exist. There are so many possibilities. The problem was though, that
he couldn't think of any of them. Oh sure, he had tried playing
Ping-Pong on the Empire State building. He had shot random fireballs
at bystanders. He had even sat on a telephone wire and pretended to be
a chicken on steroids. But that was exactly the problem with New York.
Nobody cared, much less paid attention. The weird and messed up was
perfectly ordinary and disregarded without even a thought. For a
person like Xellos, this was highly annoying.

He needed to think about what he was going to do, and what better
place to do it then his own penthouse. Yes. He had a penthouse.
Apparently, as Xellos had discovered, some of the items from his world
that were common and absolutely useless were in fact quite valuable
here. Another interesting thing Xellos had found was a thing called
Anime. Particularly Slayers. Anime, as it seemed, was a form of
entertainment in this world. But Xellos had thought of another
possibility. What if Anime was actually a log of events that took
place in other worlds? The same with video games.

"Today might not be so bad after all," Xellos said, grinning.

Lina yawned and rolled over. Slowly, as she opened one eye, she caught
a faint glimmer of golden light. She frowned and rolled over again.
The sun was the last thing she wanted to see because that meant it was
morning. And morning meant you had to get up. And her bed was really
warm right now.

Goury however, had a different concept. To him, morning meant food.
And nothing was better than food. Goury though, being the gentlemen he
was, wanted to for everyone to get up before he ate. Which meant he
had to go wake up Lina. He opened the door and peered inside. All he
could see of Lina was nothing but a mass of bed sheets with a clump of
shining red hair coming out the top.

He sighed and walked over to the bed and poked Lina. "Hey, come on
Lina. It's time to get up and I'm hungry." He whined

"Mrmmmf," was the only response he got.

Goury frowned... and pulled off the bed sheets. The only difference in
reply he got was instead of mrmmmf he got muarmrmf...

Goury sighed and resorted to that last thing the jellyfish living in
his head could calculate. He picked her up and carried her downstairs.
Normally this would result in him feeling very crispy but since Lina
was far too sleepy it just meant that Lina would probably fall asleep
again.

"FIREBALL!!!"

Or not...

*Sometime later*

"Aaahhh... that was some good food!" said Lina as she patted her
belly.

"You know, the amount of food you two can consume never ceases to
amaze me," said Zelgadis as he sipped his usually coffee.

"I'm amazed we were even allowed to eat after Lina blew up me AND the
entire upstairs." Goury said frowning at Lina.

Lina smile and put up her hands in defense. "Sorry! Heh heh..."

Due to the normal laws of the Universe what would follow this would be
more random fun filled slayers adventures that we all know and love.
But not today. For you see, today was special. Not because of anything
in particular that was going to happen. Just simply because whatever
Xellos was doing to the dimensional fabric, was really giving today
indigestion.

Slowly, things that don't normally happen happened and things that do
happen normally started to get jealous and happened more often just to
make the abnormal events mad. Things in the world started to change
and alter. Noises began to sound in all the wrong places. Kangaroos
started to mystically appear and time started to flow differently.

Ever surely, the world was about to enter some interesting times.
