Super Powers

Chapter 2

"Another Phoenix and Artic Fox report?" Quatre Winner asked, sighing. He brushed a small wisp of his platinum blond hair from his face and took the papers his secretary handed him and looked them over. He stopped on the picture of Arctic Fox, but then shook his head at the thoughts that ran through his head. "Well…no attacks…that's good…but they were sited?" His young flashing blue eyes fell upon the young woman at his desk. He grinned as she rolled her eyes at his attempt to act like a normal serious reporter. He was a serious guy, but he also had alittle bit of an immature side. He read on as the woman left and thought hard when he read that the two were sited running around the city together. "Fire and ice…united…Perfect headline!" He got up and left his office with the papers. He looked for his boss and found him in his office with a copy of the New York Times in his hands.

"Yes, Quatre?"

"I have the perfect report, sir!" Quatre rushed over to his boss and showed him the pictures and the rest of the article typed out. He smiled as he watched the man's face change from boredness to major interest.

"Quatre, you lucky dog, you just may be the luckiest reporter I've ever seen to get so many great articles…" The boss said, handed the papers back to him with a smile. "You just hit gold!"

Quatre just nodded eagerly and rushed back to his office. He picked up the phone to call up his coverage team. "Yes…The old Ford car factory…Be ready in fifteen minutes!" He hung up the phone and rushed out of his office, brushing off his white work shirt and his khaki pants. I just hit gold…Gotta look like gold!

Click. Click.

"Aw frig! The computer beat me again!" Tidus kicked the desk and let out a small yelp of pain. "That was the tenth time this computer beat me at poker-" He saw in his computer screen the manager standing behind him. He quickly clicked out of the game and turned his chair around to face him, smiling. "Man, gotta hate those horrible memories of computers actually being smarter than humans!"

The man just stood there, leaning on the desk and tapping his fingers. "Listen, Tidus, if I ever catch you not doing your job again, I'm getting you fired!" With that, he stormed off angrily down the hall.

Tidus glared after him. "Hmph… Grouchy old men…" He spun back around in his chair and continued doing his boring job; filing papers for a general music company. He looked out his window and blinked in surprise when he saw a dark and a light figure fly past it. He shook his head, thinking he probably just saw something. Then someone or something came crashing through the window, glass shattering everywhere. Alright, Tidus, keep your job and go push the emergency button! Tidus dives for the button, which was convinentely located by the door. When he looked harder, he could see that it was Phoenix Blade.

Phoenix tackled him back before he could reach the button and stood before it to make sure he didn't get to push it. "Don't even think about it…" She murmured, walking over to him and holding a dagger to his neck. She gasped in surprise and dropped her dagger when she saw his eyes glow blue when she touched him. "You…you…"

Tidus blinked in confusion, not getting why she looked so shocked. "What…?" He wasn't allowed to finish; she grabbed him and jumped out the window.

Riku yawned and switched on the TV in his office room. He shared his office with another guy, but that guy had called in sick, so he had the room to himself. His newest software program due to be completed was in another month or so, so he figured he could use a bit of his work time relaxing his brain; programming software for computers was really good at frying your brain.

"Just when we thought that the appearances of Phoenix Blade and Arctic Fox were astonishing, a new and unnamed super human has shown up on the New York city streets! As far as we know of her powers, she is definitely the next Spiderman--er, I mean, woman!" The screen went black a moment, and then a video popped up of the young super human. She wore black leather pants, a black leather tank top-like vest, black leather boots, a black cloak, and around her neck was a black choker with what looked like a 6-pointed crystal star on it. Her hair was shoulder-length and raven black; her eyes were a bright sapphire blue.

Riku leaned forward in his desk and a small smile crept upon his face. "Wow…" He murmured, not knowing that his eyes had begun to glow yellow.
