Chapter 3

Awoken Spirit

Darkness…faint light…strangeness…vitality… This was all he felt. A cold breeze stirred the lifestream and the earth beneath shuddered with joy and yet urgency. The man wakes up and finds himself submerge in the emerald stream. He struggles in the currents of souls that seem to engulf him and carry him to the sky. He burst through the surface and took in his first breath of cool air. He struggles for the bank and collapses on the smooth stone beneath him.

Where am I ?

: The Northern Crater, my son…:

Son?

: Yes.:

Then why am I not with you? Why am I here?

: It was your choice and the planet has agreed to give you another chance at love, joy and happiness. :

What choice was that? What made me choose?

: A young woman who has bled by her weapon. Now go son and live again :

Wait! Where are you going mother?

: I'm going back to the stream and I will join you when you die again. Do not forget to tell your father that I love him and that he needs to go on living. :

Yes Mother, goodbye.

Tifa screamed, holding the metal in front of her to protect herself from the fatal attack. The wolf howled in pain as the edge of the metal pierced its stomach. He fell on top of Tifa. Suddenly she lost ground and fell down into the abyss below.

Tifa opened her eyes to see the body of the wolf below her. The metal that was stuck in the animal's body had spilled its guts all over the ground and on her clothes. She tried to scream but her throat was dry and hurt. Her fingers grabbed the shaft and pulled. It came out and she held onto unless another creature wanted to attack. After looking around she noticed that she was alone. She looked above to see the depth into which she had fallen. That's impossible! I'm suppose to be dead! Nothing could have survived that fall not even a demon.Tifa looked at her torn clothes, her shirt and jeans barely clung to her bloody body. Cuts and gashes oozed freely from her waist and legs. When she tried to stand her legs betrayed her. Tifa collapsed to the rocks and cried until she was near sleep. She hugged the metal piece to her chest and whimpered. Cloud…why did you say those words…someone please hear my pain…help me.

: I shall help you Tifa…sleep and rest.: a voice said calmly. She fell asleep only to dream of a man picking her up and walking away from the bloody scene. What a lovely dream it was even if it didn't happen. Soon she was lost in a dark and ageless sleep.

The man was no myth or dream he had pried the metal weapon out of her cold hands and had picked her up. She was in need of serious help. After walking a long mile or so he entered a shallow cave the leaked water from the roofs. He placed the helpless girl onto the ground and covered her with leather. He started a fire and washed Tifa's injuries. Then he bandaged them in whatever material that he had left. A cura or two would help her more. He casted the magic onto the sleeping from and went back to his work.

* So, who do you think of this good stranger? R/R! Please! By the way it's late and I have school tomorrow. The next three chapter will come in! I promise! *
