An Angel's Knight

Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters from FF8. All I own is a Rinoa role play journal and a copy of the game. Also to those if the FFVIII RPG Mode who read this, yes this is based off our role play and has some of the same elements. I have permission from Ran to use these elements ok? Don't flame me it's just a fic.

~*~ Part 2---The Knights Confession ~*~
Back in Balamb, Dr. Kadowaki told Irvine and Quistis that Rinoa would be ok. She was just warn out and bruised from the battle. Since Limit Breaks were allowed, Rinoa wouldn't be docked any points. Quistis, Irvine, Zell, Selphie, and Nadia all went to their rooms for the rest of the day to recover.
Seifer, after getting the same report from Dr. Kadowaki, went back to his room as well and turned on his computer. He checked his email and surfed around when he found it. Secretcrush.net. The perfect way to tell Rinoa that he liked her. It was an Anonymous email service that would let your crush know without telling them who you are. Seifer entered Rinoa's email address and a short message and hit send. He'd wait until the SeeD Ceremony. That'd give him time to overcome this sudden case of nerves he'd developed.
A few days later, Rinoa was moved from the Infirmary to her dorm but was ordered more rest. Rinoa complied but was glad to have a lap top computer so she could still keep in touch with everyone. Rinoa checked her email and found a strange message from Secretcrush.net. What the heck? Rinoa thought as she opened the message. It read:

Subject: Someone has a crush on you Rinoa!

Hey Rinoa, I really like you. I think you are very pretty. I'll let you know who I after the Garden Ceremony unless you can guess me first.

Rinoa had sent a few emails to Squall but he'd hadn't replied. He hadn't come to see her in the Infirmary and when she called he never would answer. In a chatroom, Rinoa had asked the others if they'd talked to or seen Squall. They all said no, he'd been keeping to himself a lot lately. Rinoa frowned and put another entry in her journal about it. Seifer, who'd been in the chatroom began to get mad. Why would Squall ignore Rinoa? That's just stupid. He never went to visit her, never spoke to her. Stupid heartless bastard. Seifer thought to himself. She also mentioned the secretcrush.net email. Seifer almost choked on the soda he was drinking. He kept quiet as the rest of them questioned who it could possibly be.
A few minutes later, the unthinkable, well at least to Seifer, happened. Squall entered the chatroom. Seifer said hello as all the rest did. Rinoa tried to get him to talk by asking his opinion on the latest movies out at the Balamb theater.
Squalllnhrt2: "..."
Seifer banged his hand on the computer desk. This is insane. Seifer thought, She's just asking him a simple question and all he responds with is "..."??? what the hell? Seifer watched the screen saying nothing until it was apparent that Rinoa's mood had gone from sad to worse.
FiraSeiferAlmasy: You know Leonhart, you could try actually talking. It's not like the keyboard is going to hit you.
Squalllnhrt2: ...Whatever.
Seifer shook his head and watched as the others yelled at him and Rinoa was eerily quiet. He opened an IM window to talk to her.
FiraSeiferAlmasy: You ok Rinoa?
HeartillyRin:I'm fine Seifer.
FiraSeiferAlmasy: Why do I not believe you?
HeartillyRin:*sigh* It's just that, I got a email thing saying someone has a crush on me an Squall blows it off like it's nothing. Maybe it is, but I don't know.
FiraSeiferAlmasy: hmmmm. Well Maybe Squall just doesn't care.
HeartillyRin:Don't say that.
FiraSeiferAlmasy: Heh, well, can't help it if it's true. Can I tell you a secret?
HeartillyRin:What Seifer?
FiraSeiferAlmasy: I was the one..........that sent you that crush email...
After having said that Seifer Quickly logged off before Rinoa could reply. Rinoa sat and looked at the screen dumbfounded. Seifer had a crush on her? Rinoa had never even thought Seifer liked her for a friend. Sure they were all nice to each other and everything, but a crush? Rinoa was indeed shocked. She made a note of it in her journal and locked it before telling everyone good night and going to bed.
The next day Seifer didn't see Rinoa in class. He'd meant to talk to her about last night's confession, but he got scared and signed off. Maybe I'll get to talk to her later. he thought as Quistis lectured on about the meaning of SeeD.
Later that night, Seifer went to Rinoa's dorm and knocked on the door. She opened it and almost fainted. Stuttering she told Seifer to come in and she lay back down on her bed. Seifer sat down on the side of her bed.
"Don't mind the mess." Rinoa said weakly as Seifer looked around her room. "I'm usually not this bad but having been sick and all."
Seifer smirked, "Don't worry, mines even worse." He admitted.
Rinoa smiled a little but then frowned again. "I must look awful huh."
Seifer looked at her gently. "I don't think so."
Rinoa shyly brushed back a lock of hair and blushed. "Thanks."
Seifer waved his had at her, "Don't worry about it."
Rinoa giggled a little and then asked, "Would you mind doing me a favor?"
At that point Seifer would have done anything. He looked at her and replied, "Hmm? What?"
Rinoa smiled shyly, "Can you get me a glass of juice out of my little fridge over there?"
Seifer smiled. "Sure thing." He stood up and got Rinoa a glass of juice. Handing to her her he said, Here, be careful not to spill it."
Rinoa thanked him and took a small sip.
Seifer watched her and then asked, "Feel any better?" She nodded and said "A little, I still feel a little tired but my headache is gone."
"That's good, then." Seifer said as he sat back down.
Rinoa looked at Seifer sheepishly. She was running out of conversation topics and she didn't want to talk about that email Seifer had sent her. "Guess that was a silly thing to do in that battle, using Angel Wing and all."
Seifer looked at her sadly, but said nothing.
"Rinoa, is Squall treating you right?" Seifer said finally.
Rinoa, shocked by his question, thought for a minute before answering, "Well he does, kinda."
"Did he bring you anything when he came to visit you in the Infirmary?" Seifer asked as he noticed on her bed, the small stuffed Chicobo he'd given her just before she'd been released to her dorm.
Rinoa hung her head and admitted quietly, "He didn't come visit me."
Seifer frowned. He didn't think so. He wanted to comment on how Squall was a heartless bastard but he refrained as Rinoa probly would have gotten upset. Finally he looked at her, jade green melted into chocolate brown as he asked her, "Has Squall spent any time with you at all? Done anything for you? *pause* Told you he loved you?"
Rinoa was silent for a moment before she answered. "No."
Seifer, sensing that she was feeling sad, picked up the Chicobo and danced it in front of her face making it "peck" her nose. Rinoa gave a small smile, "I'm glad you came to visit me."
Seifer grinned, "I'm glad I'm making you smile now." He said putting the stuffed toy down. "Tell me, when was the last time Squall made you smile?"
Rinoa hugged the toy to her chest. "I honestly can't recall." She said sadly.
Seifer gently put his hand on Rinoa's arm. "Rinoa..."
She looked at him, eyes brimming with fresh tears. "Yes?"
"I don't want you to go... through this anymore...." He admitted.
"Seifer.....I don't want to either...." She said keeping her eyes locked on his.
"Seifer....I love you."
"Rinoa, I love you too...."
a small tear came out of Rinoa's eye as she continued to lose herself in Seifer's emerald gaze. Seifer wiped the tear from her cheek. I'm sorry for causing all this Rinoa. It's my fault... It was mine to begin with...I was the first to send out that SecretCrush thing
"But I'm glad you did Seifer...I'm glad that you care." Rinoa admitted.
"I always did... when I was being manipulated, somewhere in the back of my mind, I kept wondering if you would be OK." Seifer confessed as he squelched the horrible feeling of the memory of pushing Rinoa into Adel.
"During that time, I didn't know, so I thought you didn't care about me anymore. I guess that's when I fell for Squall. Now, I wonder, why did it all happen this way? maybe because I was meant to be a Sorceress?" Rinoa asked herself as more tears fell.
Seifer shook his head. "No no.... you weren't meant to be a sorceress, Rinoa... If I could have controlled myself, I wouldn't have let Ultimecia get to you."
Rinoa was touched by his words, but a million words couldn't change the past. "It's ok Seifer, this is my fate. I have accepted it." She said as the tears stopped. "I'd just hoped to have a knight who will be there to care for me and defend me.
"I... can be that knight, Rinoa... you... just have to let me." Seifer said quietly as he took Rinoa's hands into his own.
"I-I want you t-to be." She said as she started to shiver. "I'm cold all of the sudden."
"Come here." Seifer said as he pulled Rinoa close and held her there, using his body to warm hers.
I'll always protect you my Angel. I'll always be your Knight.
