Chapter 1 The End
Exploring the old mansion a top a rather large hill that formed at the base of the Nibelheim mountains was one of Cloud’s greatest want that was on his to-do-list of things to do before he died. When he reached the age of eighteen, Cloud was still the skinny, scrawny boy everyone in town knew since he was a baby. Due to his skinny physique, Cloud slipped through the chain locked gates of the Nibelheim Mansion and was free to explore the estate for as long as he wanted. He wanted to explore a rather large shed to the northeast corner of the mansion in the back, but the mansion itself seemed to be beckoning him into its deep recesses of its darkness. Heading the silent call, Cloud turned the rusting doorknob only to meet a breed of darkness that he had never seem before. The inside of the mansion was literally in complete darkness that not even Cloud’s flashlight seemed to illuminate anything. After a few minutes of feeling around in the dark and hoping he did not run into a monster in the process, cloud came across thick, heavy curtains that covered the light coming from the windows they guarded stiffly. Cloud gave a sharp tug on the curtain and it came heavily down onto the floor with a loud rip. Blinding light filled a portion of the room he was in but at least he could see a whole lot better. Cloud tried the flashlight again and this time he had success in seeing through the rest of the house.
Cloud still stood in the what seemed to be an open parlor with furniture that wore white sheets to prevent dust from getting to them. The light from the window just illuminated the parlor but of course that was not going to stop Cloud. As he was going to tear down the remaining curtains, a soft creak caught his attention causing Cloud to nearly drop his flashlight in which he in turn flashed it towards a large curling staircase. The dim light scanned over the landing of the second floor before stopping at the top of the stairs. The light revealed a pair of black boots that reached what Cloud could only figure as a person. Not bothering to draw the light upward to see the persons face, Cloud clicked the flashlight off before looking back up to see a pair of glowing red eyes staring back at him. He could feel his heart stop as well as his brain because his body was rooted to where he stood and his breathing became shallow. For some reason the room temperature dropped to a searing cold leaving Cloud shivering and frozen like a deer in headlights. The figure at the top of the stairs stood stock still making sure that Cloud was frozen to the spot; its glowing eyes continuing to stare Cloud down as it made its way down the staircase while causing thick darkness to overtake the much needed light.

Tifa was the type of girl that never gave up when she started to search for something. Now this something happened to be a person in which Tifa had been searching for the past several days. Quite actually the whole town was looking for this person because this person had indeed disappeared a day after his birthday. Tifa plays into this because she has a major crush on said missing person but that person does not feel the same sadly and what’s more sad is that Tifa does not get the hint. As the search for Cloud continued, one of the towns people had suggested that they search the Nibelheim Mansion seeing as it was always the object of Cloud’s curiosity. After few moments of arguing and several threats made by Tifa, a search party consisting of fifteen town’s people and Tifa herself in the lead was formed and went straight for the mansion. After breaking the lock and chain off and a few attempts Tifa made to get the search party going, everyone finally stepped foot upon the old, unkempt grounds of the Nibelheim Mansion. As they approached the entrance of the house Tifa noticed a figure standing in front of one of the second story windows. She squinted her eyes to see better and found that it was the silhouette of Cloud. The search party took notice and charged into the house bringing down the door in one swoop.
The darkness inside the mansion was not the darkness Cloud faced when he had arrived in a slightly more subtle manor. The darkness was the usual type of dark that ones eyes got used to after a minute or two. Tifa and the others looked around the first floor and found Clouds flashlight lying on the floor next a heavy dark curtain that had been torn off form the hinges that kept it up. Concluding that Cloud had indeed been inside the old mansion, the town’s people began to search the house in semi-large groups while Tifa took a small group to search the second floor. Their search was fruitless on the second floor for they did not find Cloud anywhere but the searchers on the first floor found small droplets of fresh blood but nothing else. As they took one more sweep through the mansion, one of the searchers stumbled upon a half covered passage way which seemed to lead to an underground basement. There was a slight problem with the whole search party going down the spiraling stone stairway, the light fixtures that were set to be switched on by a small switch on the floor did not switch on. As the town’s people stood alongside Tifa staring into the dark abyss of the passage, a pair of glowing red eyes appeared close to the passage opening but far enough that the body belonging to the eyes remained in darkness. Those red eyes pinned everyone to the spot like it did with Cloud before claiming the blonde; but this time this eyes had the intent on scaring off the intruders upon its territory. The creature gave off a low growl causing the whole search team to shiver and shake at the sound. With one final growl, the creature shouted angrily at the town’s people scaring them and Tifa into a run.
“GET OUT!!!!GGGGGGGEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTT OOOOOOUUUUUUUTTTTTTT!!!!!”
The shouts followed them until they were well away from the old mansion that the air around it fell calm and at peace again. A few hours later the town elders called up Shinra demanding what he had left in the old mansion that took one of their beloved people and healers.
