Final Fantasy - All Series Fan Fiction ❯ Captive Love ❯ Sailing Away ( Chapter 2 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

A/N: Thanks for all those who reviewed. chichi5, he knew that she had been kidnapped because of several reasons: they rarely get to spend time together because of his work, they were having too good of a time for her to just leave, and Rinoa wouldn't just leave without a good reason and Squall was just playing the part of a protective boyfriend. Thanks for pointing this out, I really should have made it clearer in the last chapter, recommendations and improvements are always welcome. DeathDragon66 glad you like the story. Hope you like this chapter too. BerlinBrownEyes, lol that was how i was hoping she would be seen. I don't like to waste a lot of time on detail, especially with minor characters, so I try to make their personality show through their speech.

Here's the next chapter in the story. I've got the story plotted out and I think it'll be a long one.

Squall had always prided himself on his quick, precisonal thinking. Never having any attachments, it had always been easy to make the pratical decision and not have to worry about the feelings of others but now he didn't have that benefit. He knew Rinoa would never leave him willingly, at least not without telling him. That sounded something like he would have done before he had met his friends, but now not even he would do that.

Glancing around at the crowd he knew that they could easily hide anywhere. There were too many hiding places, even for a group of people so he decided that he needed help. Zell was suppose to have come today but had to forego the chance in order to help some of the incoming cadets and Selphie had convinced Irvine and Quistis to be on the committee for the party so they should have still been in the garden. Even though he hated the thought of leaving the place he believed Rinoa to be, he knew he would be more helpful by getting reinforcements.

So, as quickly as he could when surrounded by thousands of people Squall began to make his way out of Balamb. After quite a bit of pushing and even a little kicking he finally made it out of town.

As he started making his way over to the Garden, grumbling about not taking a car, he glanced casually over at the beach and noticed a boat which seemed to be in the process of leaving. He felt an icy chill roll down his back and stopped to take a better look at the boat.

No, it has nothing to do with Rinoa. You're clutching at straws so stop standing there and go get help before she really is gone.

It was times like these which Squall noticed he really had changed. Never before had he made a conscious decision to depend on others because he had never found anyone he could depend on.

When Squall broke out of his inner monologue he noticed that he had been running toward the beach. Well I guess I have to follow my fighters instincts. Please let me be wrong. He knew that if Rinoa was on that boat then he couldn't catch it in time but he also knew that he would try anyway.

As he made his way down the slightly sloped land he barely noticed himself dodging the foilage or jumping the rocks but when he nearly ran headfirst into a wasp monster(sorry couldn't remember the exact name) he realized that he must have been going at neck break speed.

They had attempted to get rid of all the monsters before the party began in fears that they might attack someone who didn't have the ability to defend themselves but the smaller of the monsters had proved to be very elusive so Squall had no choice but to deal with it.

Rinoa couldn't believe her luck. She had finally managed to get Squall out of the garden and she was kidnapped. She couldn't believe that they had been able to kidnap her. Sure she had doubted her strength in the past but now she was a sorceress and had aided in saving the world. If it hadn't been for that stupid jewel they had placed around her wrist they would have been in deep trouble.

She had just retrieved her purse and had been about to leave the hotel when she had been approached by three guys. They had seemed nice enough, the taller of the three seemingly a little taller than Irvine with dark blonde hair and chocolate eyes, the second only slightly shorter with black hair and green eyes, and the last one had seemed only a little taller than Squall with brown hair and eyes, so when they had told her that a emergency had occured and Squall had been forced to go back to the Garden immediately she had only hestitated briefly before agreeing to go with them.

When they exited the city she had felt something cool slipped around her wrist and snapped into place. Then she had felt a cloth pressed to her lips and darkness had started to set in. In the brief time before the darkness had over took her she had tried to use her powers and when that hadn't worked she had went back to old fashioned struggling.

The next thing she knew she was waking up in a stark room that seemed to be made of metal. As she stood up she noticed the gentle rocking motioned and decided that she must be on a ship.

The only thing she could think of to do was to run to the door and bang on it. Who knows maybe she could annoy them so much that they'd want to let her go. After about 10 minutes of constant pounding she had to give up. Not only was she not getting any response but her hand had started to bleed. So she set down cradling her sore hand to her chest.

She decided that maybe if she was able to get the bracelet off then maybe she could use her powers to get out of her. She looked down at the cold piece of metal. It was pretty in design, rose petals interlinking and coming to in the center where one big rose sat, but she wanted it off. Pulling at it she decided that whether it not she wanted off it seemed that it wasn't going to come.

Squall where are you? Please help me. No I can't depend on Squall that much I have to get out of her by myself. I have to be strong because weaknesses are exploited by men like these.

In all honesty she really didn't know what kind of men they were but if they were willing to kidnap someone then they couldn't be very nice. So standing up she circled the room trying to think of an escape plan.

Disaster had struck. He thought that the wasp would be no problem but when he reached down for his gunblade he discovered that it wasn't there. Then he remembered that he had left it at the Graden. In an attempt to promote peace weapons had been banned at Balamb and since they were very few monsters there really wasn't any need for them anyway. There were a few guards which had been assigned to patrol the land surrounding the town but Squall still wasn't the type to depend on strangers.

So he had then tried to attack the monster with only his hands but that proved to be a mistake. He hadn't ever really depended on his bare hands for fighting before and thus had little pratice with them so the only thing he succeeded in doing was getting himself poisoned. He had been forced to use his only antidote, Rinoa was the one carrying the supplies because he had always wanted to make sure she had them if they were seperated, and retreated to looking for another weapon.

Glancing around he had grabbed the only thing within reach, a tree branch. Now that he had the longer reach the wasp was dead in little under a minute but not before Squall had managed to get poisoned again.

Ignoring the stinging pain in his shoulder, he started to make his way down to the ship once again but with each step his vision blurred a little bit more.

"Hold on Rinoa. I'm coming."

Expecting no reply he nearly jumped when he heard a voice in his head.

Squall please help me.

Now knowing that she was the boat he tried to run harder but his speed constantly decreased. Finally the darkness he had been holdign at bay rose up and claimed him.
