CH 6: No use For EmOtIon
I made my way to the front door pushing it slowly open to see the ever spanning night and dim lit houses. I watched the wafts of smoke leaking from the townsfolk chimneys. They would all be together in there houses relishing this time of peace. I hated that word.
“What are you planning Vincent?”
“Watch.” I breathed as I walked out into the cool night. I made my way out of the squeaking, barley hinged, wired gate and into the courtyard. I closed my eyes letting the calmness fill me. I leaned my head back to face the crescent moon.
“Destroy them all. Every last one of them.” I said as my wings spread on my back. I tilted my head down to the earth and watched as the ground shook and rose in the skeleton head of the devil. The mouth opened letting out a low rumble and thousands of smaller ghost like skeletal heads full of razor sharp teeth and horns. I watched them swarm into the sky, swirling and spinning. In a blink of an eye they split and moved into the houses that surrounded the courtyard.
Shrieks filled my ears and sights of death my eyes. I could see the ghostlike heads attacking their victims; almost taste the blood as they bit into them. I could see them all in my new eyes. I watched as the large devil skull sunk back into the ground and the smaller skulls came back to me, flowing into me, filling me with their resent pillage.
My mouth fell slack as the sights and sounds returned to me. Each skull brought the deaths to me. I relished the feel of seeing and feeling all these retched humans last breaths. The worthless thoughts and fears that consumed them. I let out a satisfied sigh as the last skull disappeared into my body.
The laugh slipped from my mouth and it was nothing human. It didn't bother me. I no longer considered myself part of that doomed lot. I felt the presence behind me. I rolled my head to the side glancing there.
“You killed them all.” Sephiroth stated, but I could sense the uneasiness inside of him.
“Yes.” I said with a dissatisfied shrug as I turned to him. His hand was resting near the hilt of his sword. “Do not worry. If I wanted you dead, you would be.” His hand dropped from his weapon. I could no longer sense anything from him.
“Watch your tone with me Dear Vincent.” Sephiroth glared. I let my tongue run along the back rows of razor sharp teeth as I cocked my head. Sephiroth's eyes narrowed as he looked at me.
“You're beginning to bore me this way Sephiroth.” A sick smile came across my face. Sephiroth gave no clue that he heard the obvious threat I laid.
“What would you have me do?” Sephiroth's voice was flat, but I could hear that he forced it so. He was hiding something.
“So glad you asked.” A smile rose on Sephiroth's lips at my response.
“Are you?”
“But of course I am.” The light tone I held was fading to darkness. Sephiroth and I said nothing as we stood toe to toe, neither of us breaking eye contact. We were both powerful beings and we knew it, but were unsure of the others strength. It was a dangerous game we played yet we knew the consequences, both smiling condescending smiles on the other. My smile faltered.
“I am not one for games Sephiroth.” No other feature moved on me, but my mouth as I spoke. Sephiroth remained quiet. My talonned hand palmed Sephiroth's face; he made no move to stop me. I stepped to the side of him staring at the mansion.
“Be wary of your actions and lack there of Sephiroth. You are now living a disposable life.” My hand slid slowly off his face as I closed my eyes clasping my hands lightly behind my back, letting my wings stretch into the wind. I slowly made my way back to the mansion knowing full well what I had done.
I had insulted Sephiroth on many levels by my actions. I was sure he knew the ways of demons. By placing my hand over Sephiroth's face I had stated that I felt myself to be superior to him and I did not feel he deserved the right to look upon me. When I spoke to him and stepped around him it meant that I felt it a privilege for him to have me speak to him and not looking at him showed I did not respect him. There was also the obvious threat and insult in my words. Finally, the way I walked away from him. Every aspect of my posture reveled that in no way did I find him as a threat to me.
All simple gestures in the exchange we shared meant something. I was glad the demons had merged with me otherwise I would not have been able to do such a thing. There was not much information on demons for obvious reasons.
I closed the door behind me with a wing as I stood in the large entranceway looking up at the decrepit chandelier. It would be interesting to see how he would react to such treatment. I was sure he would not stand for it.
I did not have to wait long for Sephiroth's reaction. I leveled my head to see flaring green solidify before me. The hand struck hard as he backhanded me turning my face to the left with its strength. I felt the trickle of blood where my fang had dug into my lip.
“Dare you insult me halfling!” Sephiroth was consumed by rage. His voice shook as it boomed throughout the house. I had never seen him so angry. I slowly rolled my gaze back to him.
“As if you can call me such. You were also born from human loins.” I countered with a sneer.
“I am nothing as disgusting as you!” Sephiroth gabbed me by the clasps of the cape with both hands pulling me close to him as he yelled in my face. The white wings spread wide behind him. The green glow swallowing the catlike pupil of his eyes. His teeth grinding with every word.
I brought my hand up to lightly scratch my cheek closing my eyes acting if Sephiroth wasn't even there. Sephiroth shook me with force. I let my hand drop as I slightly opened my eyes. I looked at him unamused and half tired.
“You disrespect me still! Tear your wings from your back. You're a disgrace to all demons. ” He spat the last at me. My eyes narrowed. He in fact did know the ways of demons. Telling a demon to tear off its wings was one of the worst insults among them. My lips pulled back from my teeth as the growl left my throat. Sephiroth laughed darkly as he released me taking a step back.
My hand darted out before he could clear my reach. It plowed into his laughing face. Sephiroth fell to the floor. He turned quick to gauge the distance between us. There was no distance. I watched as his body began to fade into that transparent form. He hadn't known the power I possessed or the quickness I had gained.
My hands grabbed onto the closest white feathered appendage. The black talons sinking into the soft meat. Blood sprayed across the floor as Sephiroth's scream filled the entrance room with a satisfying familiarness. My eyes fluttered at the sound as my muscles attempted to separate the bone, tissue, and tendons that held the angelic wing on Sephiroth's back.
My eyes fell half closed and my mouth slack as the cool steel slid into my gut. A half smile took my lips, as I pulled harder on the wing feeling the slow sliding of that long Murasume sword entering me. My head leaned back and blood sprayed from my mouth as it did Sephiroth's back from him moving his sword upwards in my guts splitting my stomach and back open. I liberated the wing from Sephiroth's back and his sword from my gut as I stumbled away from him from the force I pulled.
My back and head hit the floor as I coughed and sputtered there letting the huge white wing lay across me. Sephiroth cried out like a man who had just watched everything he loved die. I gave a coughing bloody laugh at his loss. A loss I had known far to well.
The scream died to nothing more than a fading echo. It was replace by the sound of metal scrapping against worn stone. I felt the blade digging into my neck. Focus returned as Sephiroth's image solidified above me.
“You won't heal.” Sephiroth panted as he stared down at me holding his stomach. He pulled his hand away showing me the slowly closing hole there. “My blood coats this sword. Your demon's blood can not help you.”
I wanted to laugh, but could only turn my head to let the blood out before it drowned me. I felt Sephiroth's sword dig into that soft tissue of my neck before I returned my attention to him. I gripped the wing tighter in my hands.
“You have got my wing.” Sephiroth's voice was starting to sound more normal as his body healed itself while mine was letting the life slowly seep from it. I could feel my hands and feet growing cold. “But I have your head. Do you understand that Vincent?”
Sephiroth made his point more clear as the Murasume moved deeper into my neck. I choked on the breath I tried to take in feeling my lungs coat in the red liquid, leading me to cough more of the metallic fluid up. I knew what was coming. I had left myself open.
“You have lost this battle and I chose to let you live.” My hand released the wing and went to the back of Sephiroth's sword attempting to push it through my neck. I felt the shake of the sword as he tried to keep the metal from doing anymore damage. Even with the spanning pond of blood that surrounded me and the amount that leaked from my mouth, I was hard for Sephiroth to fight. He finally pulled the sword away from my neck.
He crouched down next to me and grabbed the wing, which I would not relinquish. I felt the cold blood fall upon my stomach and chest as a hunk of wing, skin, bone and feathers rested in my right hand. I watched as Sephiroth squeezed more blood from his dead wing. I felt his hand pry open the slice in my stomach. I flinched as the cool liquid entered the wound. My head swirled as I turned my attention to the ceiling feeling my body go numb.
Time passed. Hours turned to days. I had glanced at Sephiroth once in that time span. He was kneeled next to me staring at the dimly glowing white wing. His face was empty as he gripped it tightly. More days passed neither of us moving or speaking. Sleep was an alien notion. There were many things for us to think of, though I had no want to know Sephiroth's thoughts.
Perhaps I had gone to far in my insults towards him. It was much too late for regret. I was more powerful than Sephiroth. I had proven that by removing his wing, though that was partly to redeem myself from the insult he gave to me. Such a petty thing to be distracted with, but I was much more arrogant. I could not let him say such a thing to me without consequence, except it was I who was a victim of consequence.
“You are healed. Discard of this and go to your chambers until I come for you.” I got off the floor flapping my wings behind me to rid them of the dust and dirt, and to express my frustrations. I snatched the wing from the floor where he had discarded it glaring up at him as I stood.
“Remove that look from your face.” He said sternly. “I will not tolerate any disrespect from you Vincent.” He spat my name as if it were a curse, much like Lucresia once had. It mattered not to me. I wanted him to curse my name just as she, for I hated them both. I hated them all. I forced a blank look on my face before I gave a slight bow to Sephiroth and left the room.
I made my way to the backyard of the mansion. There was nothing alive back there. Dead grass, tress and dirt surrounded by a decaying black iron fence. I dropped the wing in the dry dirt. I stared down it with a disintegrating satisfaction. I snapped my fingers together and watched the flame fall from it to the dead wing. I glanced from my fingers to the now burning wing. It was the Galian Beasts power.
I was drawn back to the wing as it burned like parchment. Within seconds it was nothing more than ash scattering to the wind. I let out a heavy sigh as I returned to the house and went to the crypt.
I sat atop my coffin, indian style, as I awaited Sephiroth. I rested an elbow on my leg letting my head sit in my hand, while my mind wandered. After every thing I had done I was once again a slave. I had lost to Sephiroth. It was his choice to let me live or die, most demons would kill their enemy, but some were smarter than that. If they chose life then the winners were able to decide what was done with that life. In most cases, as with Sephiroth, the loser's life was turned into that of a slave to the winner, made to follow every whim the owner of their life may have.
I was so focused on proving my strength, on making him suffer for insulting me so, that I let him win. There was only one rule when demons fought; it could only be between the demons involved. Spells, summons, weapons and other such items could be used. There was no such thing as fighting dirty or cheating. I had let my pride overtake my sense and given Sephiroth the win.
“How long will you sit like that before greeting your master.” My jaw ached from the pressure it held as my teeth crushed together. To hear Sephiroth say such a thing to me when I could rip his other wing and head off before he could blink. It didn't matter, as much as I hated it, it was bred into the demons inside me to follow their ways. My ways.
I slid off the coffin and kneeled in front of Sephiroth with my head bowed. His hand slid into my hair. I bit back the rage inside of me. Sephiroth's hand moved to my chin tilting my head up to face him.
“I can sense how much you loathe me in this moment.” He leaned down to me pushing his lips against mine. “You wish to kill me, but your demons blood will not let you do such a thing. Don't worry, I would never give you the chance Vincent.” He snarled the last as he pushed me to the ground. I stayed there with my face blank awaiting his instructions.
“Come to me.” I moved to get up. “I did not say stand. Crawl on the ground as you should in front one such as me demon.” I started to crawl. “Did I say you could look away from me?” In my mind I was ripping his face off and shoving it down his throat as I lit him a flame, but in reality I followed his orders. I stopped in front of him staying on all fours, craning my neck to look up at him. I was like a dog waiting for it's next command.
“What shall I have you do Vincent?” I said nothing only stared vacantly up at him. He gripped my chin hard forcing me up on my knees. “I am asking you a question.” He snapped as his hand came across my face. I turned it back to him, my empty mask slipping.
“Let me take your other wing.” I growled. His hand met my face again. I didn't turn back to him as the snarl overran the mask. I heard Sephiroth laugh lightly.
“I should expect such fowl things from letting you speak. I shall not make that mistake again.” Sephiroth hand rested on my cheek returning my face to meet his. His thumb slowly slid along my lips. “I can think of much better things for you to do with your mouth.” Sephiroth smiled down at me as his other hand went to the fastenings of his pants. My eyes went a little wide in a maniacal rage as I watched the half flaccid member freed from his pants. Sephiroth nodded down to it giving me his instructions.
I shot to my feet glaring my defiance at him. “I will never do such a thing!” I yelled pushing his arm from me and stepping away from him.
“You will do whatever I ask you as my slave! You lost the battle! You're life is mine! And I order you..”
“I refuse! Take my life!” I was adamant in my stance.
“Dare you defy your master!?” I looked away from Sephiroth. I realized the mistake I made of letting the guilt of disobeying an order take my eyes from one that should never be ignored when angered as my back met the cold stone and Sephiroth's hand was fastened around my neck. He was not letting air enter my lungs.
“I will take whatever I want from you Vincent! You are mine.” He hissed the last in some twisted victory. I suddenly understood how Cloud felt. Having Sephiroth's hands search along my body while I attempted to breath. I had no chance of fighting him. My body would not move to strike him. I could defy him with words and nothing more. Sephiroth's hand loosened on my throat as he licked along my neck.
“Fine.” I wheezed. Sephiroth stepped back from me with an eyebrow razed. I rather take him in my mouth then to have him force himself into me. He stepped away from me as I fell to my knees. I sighed as I gripped his now solid member in my hand. I slowly licked my lips as I slid the mass into my mouth. I heard Sephiroth's sigh.
“Look up at me Vincent.” He groaned. I did as I tried not to think of what it was I was doing and not to bite it off. His hands slid into my hair as his head fell back. I felt him force it deeper into my throat. I relaxed my mouth taking in all I could trying to end this as soon as possible. I could tell by the reaction in his body he was about to release. I pulled my mouth from his dick. Sephiroth's hand gripped into my hair.
“You will swallow your masters seed Vincent.” He growled. I felt the nausea spread over me as I opened my mouth to take the jerking mass in my mouth again. I felt the warmth shoot into the back of my throat. I repressed the gag reflex as I swallowed the wad down. Sephiroth pulled out of my mouth with a sigh. I fell to all fours coughing, gagging, and spitting. Trying to get any of his semen out of me.
“You will learn to enjoy me Vincent.” I didn't move. I stared at the ground trying to understand what I had just done and the reasons for it. I felt his hand on my back and repressed the shutter.
“Release me for the night. I must feed on death.” I said staying in the same position.
“I will release you when I am finished.” His breath was hot on my neck as his arm came around my chest and pulled me to my knees. He sighed into my ear letting his tongue slide along the lobe up to the point. I didn't want to like it, but I couldn't stop my breath from catching at the feel of his tongue rolling over the tip. I close my eyes feeling my stomach tighten and my lips part in a sigh. His hand ran down the shirt carefully undoing the buttons so I only got a slight touch from his warm fingers with every button.
“Stop this.” I meant to growl, but mostly moaned the slight plea. His hand ghosted up my stomach to lie on my chest while the other removed the cape.
“You're skin is as cold as you are Vincent.” Sephiroth sighed into my ear. It was true. His hand felt like a flame on my pale skin. I assumed it was from the demons integration into me. The thought was lost to me as Sephiroth's hand moved down the front of me and into the rim of my pants. My head fell back onto his shoulder and his lips moved along my neck as he undid the fastenings. I held the breath with my eyes closed, mouth hung open, while Sephiroth's hand slid around my penis. I let the soft moan out as his hand moved slowly gripping the hardened shaft. His other hand began slowly pulling the pants off more giving him more room to work in.
My body fell forward as I felt the orgasm beginning to take hold. Sephiroth's hand moved to my chest pulling me back against him and holding me there. My eyes squeezed closed as rising action moved into the climax. The image so clear in my eyes, like it was imprinted on the back the lids.
The eyes were squeezed shut, the head tilted back. Sweat rolling down his face leaving small beads along his forehead. The glistening red of his parted lips begging me to take hold of them. The sound of his fulfilled sigh as I pushed myself deep within him. The pool of crimson hair lay like a silken sheet around him. My muscles contracted as his moan filled my mind and the seed erupted from me.
I swayed on my knees panting trying to follow what had just happened. I felt the hard push from behind. I wasn't yet acquainted with reality and was unable to get my limbs to do my bidding. My arm barely caught me before my cheek met the hard rock floor. I glanced over my shoulder at Sephiroth who was glaring disgust down upon me.
“I do not need you weak. You must feed now.” Sephiroth turned his back to me. I stood up pulling my shirt and cape on and redoing my pants. He moved behind wrapping his arms around me. I knew it wasn't possible for him to see into my mind, but I felt uneasy with him with the vision I had had.
“Close your eyes.” I followed his orders. I felt a slight wind. “Open your eyes Vincent.” Sephiroth said darkly. I glance around the area. It was vaguely familiar. I looked back at Sephiroth wondering why it was he brought me here.
“Look around. This is where you will feed tonight.” The way he spoke made me uncomfortable. He choose this place for a reason and meant for me to find out that reason. I moved further into the town walking by the shops and houses. I stopped just in front of a wooden fence. I could see the metal frame where a rocket had once been. I scanned the house seeing a man moving among the lit rooms.
“Cid.” The name wafted from my lips.
“So you do remember him.” Sephiroth said as he came up on my side. I glance over at him as he smiled slightly bowing his head. I turned away from the house and walked towards another. “Do you not like my choice?”
I ignored him as I walked up to the door of an anonymous house. I stared at the deep brown oak and black metal hinges. I could feel my mind empting as my eyes dried from their unblinking focus on the door.
“We can return to the mansion if you prefer. Perhaps clear your head.” Sephiroth said with more than a subtle hint at what he wanted to do with me. I froze for a moment wondering if he could see into my mind. Why else would he say such a thing. I shook away the thoughts knowing it was impossible for him to have seen my vision, my fantasy of Reno. If I reacted to his words he would think I was hiding something and if he were to demand I tell him my blood would make me do so. I ignored his comment as I placed my hand on the door and watched the hinges snap from the light pressure I put on it. The three children, mother and father all looked to me in horror.
“Wha” The father got out before my teeth tore out his throat. My talons slashed threw the two small blonde headed boys throats before they could scream. I snapped the mother's neck silencing her bellowing cry. The little girl ran from the house screaming. I turned for the door in no rush wanting her to call all the others into the center of town. Blood dripped from my hands mouth and soaked the front of my clothes. The smile took my face at the warm feel of their death.
Sephiroth stepped away from the door as I walked into the gathering people. I saw the girl in the middle of them as she screamed and pointed a tiny shaking finger at me. I let out a low laugh as I let my wings unfold from my back. I heard the gasps, screams and threats. How I relished such moments.
“The crowd will not save you child.” My voice dropped in tone to something similar to Chaos. “Nothing will save any of you from me.” I flapped the wings elevating myself from the ground and flew into the crowd. I swung my claws and wings taking off heads and limbs, splitting torsos in half. My claws tore through faces, popping eyeballs and pulling off cheeks. The rage spilled from my mouth as I screamed hating the way I had been used, hating the way he would toy with me endlessly and knowing I couldn't fight the demons blood. The moon looked red in the spray of blood that surrounded me. Endless screams of horror.
I stood panting covered in death. Bone, skin, hair and every fluid that filled the body covered me. Thoughts of anything but killing were lost to me. I looked down to discover the young girl who helped me cause this mass of deaths covered in the same gore as me. I could hear the screams of the few who were able to escape me. I held open my hand as I stared down at the girl.
“Go, kill them and bring me their deaths.” The skulls flew from my hand to destroy their targets. “You I must thank for bringing all this to me ignorant child.” I said looking around the severed bodies. She got to her feet to run from me I palmed her head before she could get far on such shaky unsteady legs. “I try to thank you and you run from me.”
“I-I'm sorry.” Her small angelic voice spoke.
“You should be.” I growled as my hand squeezed the small fragile skull adding fraction upon fraction of pressure. Her high-pitched scream filled the night air drowning out all the others the skulls caused.
I felt the shot take me in the arm causing me to cut off the small girls scream in a spray of brain and skull. The body fell from my grip and I shook the excess from my hand as I looked up at my new guests. I recognized the two, though I could tell they did not me.
“Sharon was getting tea.” Cid was looking from me to the mass of bodies that lie around me and back.
“If you're thinking that perhaps she escaped, you are quite mistaken. I made sure everyone died but you, though I did not know Barret was here. I thought he would be greeting Cloud and his wenches on their return from my mansion.” I watched the realization sink into both.
“Vincent.” Each shakily breathed.
“You seem so surprised to see me, though this dim lighting is not at all suitable.” I snapped my fingers on both hands to the sides of me and watched the flames move through the air like waves until they found the houses. The wood burned easily and quick forming a ring of fire around us. The two looked around at the houses.
“I say again. Do not worry, all are dead.” And as if on call the skulls returned to me with the few attempting to escape bringing me their deaths and desperate dreams for their doomed souls. I closed my eyes letting the visions of death fill me before focusing back on the two.
“What the fuck is goin on with you Vincent? The shit is this?” Cid said looking me up and down.
“I always knew he was one na them.” Barret added. I moved with speed only Sephiroth could match with his transparent act, between the two.
“You are correct. I am not like you anymore.” I watch both of them jump away from me.
“Fuck, your as bad as Sephiroth was.” Cid said breathlessly.
“Oh no, I am much worse than Sephiroth is. He knows he is no match for me anylonger. No one is.” I said staring in front of me able to see Sephiroth in that invisible form of his.
“I can't let you get away with this. Friend or not, man. This is fucked up. You gotta get some help.” Cid said placing his triten in an attack stance.
“We can't let ya outta here.” Barret said cocking the arm of his that had been amputated into a gun.
“I see. It seems we all feel the same. You don't want me to live and you're not going to live.” I said giving Sephiroth a smile before I ducked Cid's attack with the trident and spun towards where Barret stood kicking a foot out hitting his gun up misfiring the shots meant for me. I stood brining my wing straight up severing Barret's amputated arm from the shoulder. I heard his out cry and the loud bang of the metal settling into the dirt.
I moved to the right dodging the trident from my body, but it went into one of my wings. I brought the wing down cracking the three points form the weapon turning it into nothing more than a metal pole.
Cid swung it and I slashed it with my claws reducing its size. Cid spun dodging my strike and going for the opening I gave on my left. I smiled as his back turned to me as he moved for the strike just as I planned. He didn't estimate my speed. I had been fighting slower to through them and it worked. Before Cid could expedite his plan my arm was though his gut and holding him in the air.
“Vincent.” I heard him gargle my name. I forced the hand further threw till I could reach his face. I brought the talons down into his forehead. I sunk the large black claws threw the bone of his head and tore downward pulling the front of his skull, from the top of his forehead to the row of top teeth, off. It came away with a sucking and popping sound backed by his gargling moans. I yanked my hand from his gut and threw the partial face in Barret's lap so the eyeless skin and bone could stare up at him. His whole body quivered as he looked at it in terror.
“Tell them he's one of the many.” I said as I glanced to where Sephiroth had solidified.
“Who…W-What?” I looked at Barrett.
“You are all dead.” I growled.
