Final Fantasy - All Series Fan Fiction ❯ Drenched by the Moonlight ❯ Squalls thoughts ( Chapter 3 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

Here's the new chapter. I hope you enjoy it, and once again stated in the last two documents. I do not own Final Fantasy 8, nor do I own any of the characters. Squaresoft or Square-Enix owns them whichever you prefer. This chapter will be a lot more angst filled, and will deal with a lot of sensitive emotions, and some reference to suicide. So, please don't read this if you don't like any of these things.

Squall still sat mind-numbingly still on the chair. He'd been sitting there since the headmaster left, yesterday but he still found himself glued to that exact spot. His mind raced with mixed emotions, which fueled into one that would momentarily take over his body, and then immerse him back into a thoughtful depression. Hatred, and fear ran through his veins, and his mind was clouded with sadness, anxiety, and depression. Squall's eyes remained fixed on a small spot on the bright white walls. If Rinoa were here she'd go crazy, and start cleaning that right now. She was always some kind of neat freak. He smiled inwardly. The first smile he'd shed since Rinoa went away. Went away? He laughed. Squall you act as if she's coming back. She's gone for good now. I could never understand it when people say to keep them alive in your heart. But no matter how much you hold them in your heart, they're gone and you can never have that person back. All you have are memories, more painful then happy. A slight knock at the door snapped Squall from his thoughts.

“Who is it?” Squall called from the chair.

“Squall! It's Selphie!” Squall grimaced. He really didn't feel like dealing with her cheerful attitude right now. Actually, it was the last thing he needed. He sighed, and forced himself to his feet. He dragged his unforgiving legs across the floor. Obviously they'd caught an attitude for his lack of movement and decided to cramp up. Squall opened the door slowly. But Selphie didn't wear the wide smile he'd expected to see.

“What is it, Selphie?” Squall asked, sighing loudly.

Selphie ignored his sigh, and started. “I just wanted to invite you to lunch. The others will be there as well.” Selphie said, putting on a large smile.

“No.” Squall said simply, getting ready to close the door in her face. Selphie sighed, and pushed the door, forcing her way into the nearly dark dorm. The only light came from the hall.

She looked into Squall's steel gray eyes, daring him to speak before she had the chance. She no longer wore a happy smile instead she wore a frown. Anger was visible in her light brown eyes.

“Squall I understand that you're a little bummed out by what happened to Rinoa, but you can at least come have lunch with your friends!”

“Maybe I'm not hungry. Or maybe I just want to be left alone.” Squall said, still holding the door open. He was trying to get his point across.

“Ugh..you're being such a jackass.” Selphie mumbled. Squall was slightly taken aback with Selphie's choice of words, but soon the shock faded, and fueled into more anger.

“Look Selphie you-“

“Squall.” Quistis said, stepping into his dorm room as well. The two never heard her coming. “Selphie was supposed to ask you to join us for lunch, but it seems she never got around to it.” Quistis said, looking to her, sending her a slight glare. She turned her gaze back to Squall looking into his eyes. She was nearly pleading with him. “So, are you coming along?”

Squall sighed inwardly. He'd just join them, then maybe they'd leave him the fuck alone now.

Sorry about such a short chapter my mother was rushing me to use the computer, and I wouldn't have any other time to post it, so here goes. Remember, reviews are kind!
