Final Fantasy - All Series Fan Fiction ❯ I Walk Alone ❯ Training Center ( Chapter 1 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
I sadly do not own Final Fantasy, Square Enix and Hironobu Sakaguchi do. Neither am I making any profit from this, except maybe a bigger ego if I get nice reviews.
Lol.

Story is completely in Danika's Point of View

The train silently followed it tracks, taking me further and further away from Winhill.
The scenery changed every now and than, and passengers passed by on their way to work, school or whatever. I didn't pay attention to them though, I was just getting slightly nervous. Who knew what was waiting for me over there...

Much sooner than I expected I reached Balamb's trainstation. When I left the train I didn't bother to look around, I just headed for the town's exit. It just didn't matter to me where I ended up, as long as the people didn't bother me, I was content.

When I left the town I just followed along the road. If correct I would end up at Balamb Garden. If not, I would probably be eaten by the t-rex that was said to walk around here.

I shrugged. Either way was fine with me at this point.

I did reach Garden, and I didn't encouter a t-rex, so I did what I had to do. I had a conversation with some random guy, about rules and everything, and I was appointed a dorm room. It all happened quickly, without a lot of questions, so I couldn't complain. I just hope the people won't be mean here. At least not as mean as on my former school.
But I guess people here are a lot more mature. At least I hope so.

I don't have to start school until tomorrow, so I decide to explore Garden a bit. There aren't a lot of people around right now, so I don't have to worry about the weird looks people always send newbies.
I look around, find out where the infirmary and stuff are, and end up at the training center. I have been a skilled martial artist for a while now, so I decide to check out what enemies lurk around here. I wonder if I can handle them.

Not too long after I entered the training center a creature comes my way. I pull out my sword and wait for the creature to reach me.
It waves it tentacles when it sees me, and attacks right away. I avoid getting hit by it and strike it with my sword.
It immediately dies and I roll my eyes. Don't tell me I came all the way here, just to fight things like these.
Another one of the same kind comes my way, and I put away my sword. I should be able to handle it with some simple magic, I'm pretty sure it burns nicely.

I cast a fire spell on it before it can attack, no before it even sees me, and I find out I'm right. It does burn pretty well.
Smirking a bit I slightly shake my head. They better have other things around here aswell, or I will be bored to death before I even start school.

After walking around for a while I realise this really is the only enemy here.
I decide to leave again, and maybe check the fields directly around Balamb, but than I hear a roar behind me.

"I thought you were out in the forest!" I yell when a huge dinosaur-like creature appears.
The creature roars again and attacks me with it's tail.
I'm thrown back a few feet, and wonder if it followed me in or something. There isn't a warning sign anywhere saying there's a dinosaur here.

I see the dinosaur close in on me again, and draw my sword.
"You can't expect me to run, aiight?"
The dinosaur doesn't answer, it just takes a swing at me again, this time throwing me back into wall.
"Damnit." I mumble, and get up. The dinosaur is on a warpath, and I think it has set it's mind on killing me here.

I see the tail come towards me again, this time in time, and jump back. When it misses me I smirk at the dinosaur.
"Ha! Your trick is getting old!"

I think for a moment, fast, and decide to try out some heavy magic.
I use a lot of different spells, one time accidently healing the dinosaur, and finally find out it doesn't do well against icy spells.
While every now and than I dodge the tail-attacks, I cast a few icy spells, taking out the damn thing pretty easily.

"I knew working on my magic would pay off." I say satisfied when the creature runs away from me.

I decide this is the right time to check out my room, and turn around to leave the training center.
While walking behind me one more time, before leaving the training center, I walk into something.

"Hmmm, quite impressive." I hear someone say.

Okay, so I walked into someone. What's the difference...
