Immortality
By. DemonGirl-Setsuna
----------------------------------------------------------------- ------------
DemonGirl-Setsuna: Hi there! Setsuna here!
This is my first `Final Fantasy' fanfiction, so go easy on me!
I'm writing this as a favor to a friend, who is obsessive over Vincent Valentine…
Ritalin_writer(from behind her): Vinny-kun!*drool**slobber**die*
Setsuna: Why does she do this? She threatened to kill me once if I didn't print out black & white pictures of Vincent…
Ritalin_writer: Die Sephiroth! Die for what your father has done to Vincent!*Pause in shouting* I did it! I beat him! Yahoo watashi wa katoze! (This is basically the victory music from Final Fantasy put into words)
Setsuna: Sounds like the advise I gave work… And all I said to her was; `Think about what Sephiroth's father; Hojo, did to Vincent…' I'm the ultimate motivator! Anyway…
Here is Chapter 1!
Please Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I don't own Final Fantasy.

Ch. 1
Reporting for Duty
----------------------------------------
“Your scores on marksmanship is second only to our agent already on assignment”, the dark brown haired and brown eyed leader of the Turks; Verdot, says to the woman standing in front of his desk.
“Thank you, sir”, the woman states.
“Since your scores on everything else is also good, not to mention you also know a thing or two about biotechnology, I'll be assigning you the same assignment as our best agent on the Jenova Project in Nibelheim”.
“Thank you, sir”.
“You leave tomorrow. Dismissed”.
“Yes, sir!”, she says, saluting, then turns to walk from her boss's office.
-------------------------
The Next Day…
At Shin-Ra Mansion in Nibelheim…
“You sent a second agent to help me protect the scientists?”, the black, short haired and red eyed Vincent asks his boss over the phone.
(Yes, she is the best other than you, and she has a degree in biotechnology, so she may be able to help with the project), Verdot replies, over the phone, (Is that a problem?)
“No, sir”.
(Good, she should be there soon), the phone on the other end clicks, ending the call.
Vincent hangs up the receiver with a heavy sigh, “Just what I need, a rookie to baby-sit…”, he mutters.
The door-bell rings, Vincent just being down the hall from the front-door.
“Must be the rookie…”, he sighs, heading to the door.
He opens the door to find a red-headed woman with shoulder-length hair, her bangs draped to the left side of her head and half-heartedly pinned out of her face, the clumps not secured almost completely covering her left eye, her eyes were an intense lilac, and her uniform was the standard Turk uniform, except she was wearing a skirt instead of the customary pants.
“Dietrich A. Hunter, reporting for duty!”, she salutes.
“Vincent Valentine…”, he says, mono-toned.
At his emotionless reply, Dietrich begins to get nervous under his intense glare, “I know if must be strange that I'm a female with the name Dietrich, but it is a uni-sex name…”, she states, attempting to tuck her bangs behind her ear, but only succeeds in knocking the bobby-pin from her hair.
Suddenly, with grace and speed, Vincent simply catches the pin in his hand, then pins it back in her hair, properly pinning her bangs from her face.
“I'll show you to your room…”, he says still in an emotionless tone, as he turns to lead her to the room she would be occupying.
“Yes, sir…”, she replies, as she picks her bag up from beside her feet and follows her superior officer into the mansion, `Holy shit! I'm only second to this guy! This guy could kick my ass!'
----------------------------
Upstairs in one of the Guest-Rooms…
“What are my orders for today, sir?”, Dietrich asks.
“You must be tired from traveling here from Midgar, get some rest and I'll introduce you to the scientists tomorrow”, Vincent states, still in an emotionless tone but with a tiny hint of concern hidden in his sentence, as he heads out of the door.
“Yes, sir”, she says, putting her bag onto the queen-sized bed and opens it to unpack, `Fuck that guy is scary!'
“And one more thing”.
“Yes, sir?”
“Stop calling me sir, just call me Vincent”.
“Sure thing… Vincent”, she slightly smiles.
-------------------------------
The Next Day…
`I can't believe I over-slept! My first day on assignment and I'm late! Vincent is probably going to kill me!', Dietrich thinks, as she fixes her de-shriveled hair to look less bed-head like, leaving her bangs unpinned as she ran to her superior officer's room.
“I'm sorry I'm late!”, she states, swinging his door open, but suddenly stops when she sees a lump in the bed.
Vincent was still asleep.
`I don't believe it! It's 9am and he is still asleep!', she thinks, sweat-dropping at the fact that she was always up at 6am.
She walks up to the side of the bed and looks down at her superior, his peaceful looking sleeping face with the sunlight shining on it made him look almost enchanting and angelic, his hair was semi-cow-licked yet dreamlike in the way it framed his face.
A delicate dream that would shatter if she was to touch him.
`He looks so innocent and carefree, so unlike he was yesterday…', Dietrich mentally says, gently gazing down at the man in front of her as she lightly brushes a stray hair from his face.
Suddenly, his red eyes snap open and he roughly grabs her wrist, “What are you doing in my room?”, he growls.
“Ah… Vincent… sir… I thought I was late because I had slept through my alarm, and I ran here only to find you still asleep… I'm sorry I woke you up…”, she panics, under his glaring red eyes.
“This isn't the academy, you can sleep past 6am”, he sternly says, releasing her wrist.
“Yes, sir… I mean, Vincent”, she replies, correcting herself.
“Since you're awake and dressed, I suppose I should too”, he sighs, “Go wait in the hall until I call you”, he orders.
“Yes, Vincent”, she salutes and walks out.
“As I said before this isn't the academy, so you can stop saluting”, he adds with a groan.
“Yes, sir”, she bows and closes the door.
Vincent just face-palms, “She is a lost-cause…”, he groans.
