Chapter 4: Dudes, Bullies, and Hicks

The seven friends wandered aimlessly around the mall. Juliet and Liz went to the clothes shop, while Erin and Adrian went to the skate shop. Orion and Leo were left alone yet again, as Aiko went to the Hello Kitty shop.

"That's nice…WE arrange something and they don't hang out with us!!" Leo stated, looking at their friends walking in all directions.

"It's probably 'cause you stink." Orion said. Leo shot him a dirty look and pointed out Orion's greasy hair that probably hasn't been washed in three days. Leo and Orion eventually wandered into the video game store.

"Aw dude! The Return of the King game is out now!!" Orion stated in awe, pressing his nose up to the window. Leo went up to look at it.

"The total dude of dudes." Leo announced. They both had wide eyes. "Dude, how much money do you have?"

"Dude, I have 20 bucks, how 'bout you dude?" Orion asked.

"Dude! I have 20 bucks too! DUDE!! We only need 30 more bucks and we can buy it!!" Leo stated.

"DUDE!" They both yelled and gave each other a high five.

"How many 'dudes' can you say in a conversation??" A voice behind the two boys asked. It startled them and made them jump. They turned around to see Aiko sucking on a Hello Kitty lollipop and held a huge bag with the picture of Hello Kitty on it full of Hello Kitty toys and accessories.

"Ummm, ehehehe. Hi Aiko" Leo said, rubbing the back of his head and smiling nervously. Aiko rolled her eyes.

"I'm gonna go find the girls. Wanna come?" She asked the two.

"I guess so…" Orion said, gawking at the videogame again. "Hey Aiko, you wouldn't by any chance have 30 bucks would you?" Aiko shook her head.

"Sorry, I spent it all." She said, shaking her Hello Kitty bag. Leo rolled his eyes.

"DON'T YOU THINK YOU GOT ENOUGH HELLO KITTY STUFF?!" Leo yelled into Aiko's face. She stared at him blankly and then soon growled and got a mad look on her face.

"LEO TRIBAL!!" She screamed. "WHY I OUGHTA-YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER THAN TO ASK A GIRL FOR MONEY ANYWAYS!!" Aiko yelled back. She then pretended to walk out. Leo rolled his eyes and turned around to gawk at the game again with Orion. Aiko got a mischevious smile on her face and turned and snuck back to the two boys. She silently crept and soon grabbed onto Leo's tail and pulled hard. Leo jumped into the air screaming as Aiko and Orion laughed histerically.

Just then the store manager came and grabbed all three of them and threw them out of the store.

"Some customer service!" Orion yelled back, shaking his fist. Leo just shrugged and walked down the mall with Aiko. Orion quickly caught up to them. "Well my man, don't worry, we WILL get that game." He assured. Soon they arrived outside the Skate Shop.

"I'll go get them!" Leo offered.

"No I wanna go!" Orion argued.

"I'm going Orion, and that's that!!"

"NO! I wanna go!!"

"AND THEN YOU TWO WONDER WHY WE ALL DITCHED YOU!!" Aiko interrupted the argument. "Why dontcha BOTH get them??" Leo and Orion looked at each other and shrugged and both ran in. Aiko just shook her head and sat at a bench outside the skate shop. She started digging through her Hello Kitty bag, when she noticed someone come sit beside her. She looked up at the person.

He had short black hair, green eyes, and wore baggy blue jeans and a green hoody. Aiko had never seen him before. She kinda thought he was cute.

Ack!...Cute? What am I thinkin' some weirdo is CUTE…?! She thought in her head, shaking it. The guy didn't really notice her. He looked to be about the same age as her. He seemed to be drawing. Her eyes wandered onto his paper and she noticed a good drawing of a lizard. She continued sucking on her lollipop and went "Hm!"

Soon three older guys came up to this new person. They each wore sunglasses, and black leather jackets and black pants. They also wore white t-shirts under their jackets. One had long jet black hair and no sunglasses. The other had messy reddish brown hair that was done back in a ponytail with his sunglasses resting at the top of his head. Another one was well built and had dark skin. He wore his sunglasses and was bald.

Aiko immediately recognized these guys. They were part of a dangerous bully group that basically everyone knew about in Balamb High called The Turks. Their names were Tseng, Reno, and Rude. Her eyes purked up immediately and she turned her head forward. They were dangerous, and frankly, she wouldn't wanna get involved.

"Nice picture you got there…" Reno said, snapping the drawing book out of the guy's hands. Aiko silently gulped. Why am I always in the wrong place at the wrong time?!

"Hey! G-give that back!" The boy demanded. Aiko now couldn't help but look over now, NOBODY would talk back to the Turks like that, especially if they were alone. This kid must've been a new kid.

The other two Turks started laughing.

"Now why would I wanna do that?" Reno asked, starting to look through it.

"Please! M-my parents gave it to me, I've had it since I was very young a-and it's got all my work in it." The boy pleaded. Aiko looked at him with sympathetic eyes.

"Aww, poor baby." Reno said sarcastically.

"Just give it back to him!" Aiko stood up. This caught Reno off guard as he looked at her with a 'oh, you' look.

"Oh look, it's cat woman sticking up for her friend…" Reno laughed. Aiko started growling. "Rude, take care of her." The big guy started punching his hand as he slowly walked towards Aiko.

"Leave her alone!" Leo suddenly demanded behind Rude. The three turned around and saw Leo, Orion, Adrian, and Erin standing together. Reno looked at them solidly. The boy by Aiko snuck the book out of Reno's hands and ran off unnoticed. Reno knew they were outnumbered.

"Let's go guys." He said, running his fingers through his red hair and the three walked off. Once they were gone, they all ran over to Aiko.

"Aiko!! Why were you pickin' a fight with The Turks!?" Erin asked eagerly.

"Well, they were pickin' on this guy…" Aiko said looking down at the bench. "HEY! Where'd he go??" She screamed, looking around all directions. She crawled on the ground and started looking under the bench.

"I think he's gone Aiko…" Adrian said. "Let's go find Liz and Juliet."

"I guess so…" Aiko said. Leo walked proudly.

"Hehe…I scared off Reno." He bragged, walking proudly.

"Not really." Erin recalled. "They left because we were in a group, I'm assuming. Ohh boy, tomorrow at school won't be fun…" She guessed. "I hope we don't run into them or anything." She said as they all walked through the mall. Soon they saw Juliet and Liz gawking at something in the distance. Orion folded his arms and shook his head.

"EARTH TO DIMWITS, COME IN DIMWITS!!" He screamed in front of their faces. They didn't notice. "Hmmmm."

"No, no, no Orion. This is how you do it." Leo said walking in front of the two girls. "SO YOU'LL GO OUT WITH ME? GREAT!" This made the two girls fall to the ground.

"Leo Tribal not in a million years!!" Liz screamed. Juliet just shook her head.

"Leo, seriously!! Considering we're cousins!" Juliet stated. "YOU'RE GROSS! Oh you guys!! Look at this hot guy that's here!" All the girls looked the same direction Juliet and Liz were looking and saw a guy in a grocery store. Leo looked at him conspicuously as the girls all gawked. He had short dark brown hair, fair dark skin, brown eyes, black jacket, and worn out blue jeans.

"He's buying Loco Weeds." Leo observed. Orion started laughing.

"He must work at the Chocobo Ranch outside town then, hyuck!" Orion joked. The two started laughing as the girls glared.

"At least he HAS a job!!" Juliet shot back. The two immediately went quiet.

"The Chocobo Ranch eh?" Adrian said. "Who wants to start Chocobo riding lessons??" She asked the girls. There was a bunch of 'me me me!' going around except from Liz.

"I'll just go and watch…" She stated.

"GREAT!" Erin concluded. "We'll all go sign up tomorrow! Leo and Orion, you guys gotta come too!"

"Why?!" Orion screamed. "We're not infatuated by some guy…"

"Yeah no kidding," Leo agreed. "We got BETTER things to do, like earn money for Return of the King game!! How can we get money if we're spending it all on stupid Chocobo lessons??"

"The Return of the King game is out!!" Erin suddenly squeeled.

"Yup." Orion replied. "We just need 30 more bucks!"

"Why don't you guys see if you can get a job at the ranch?" Aiko suggested.

"Are you implying-" Leo started.

"-That we work?" Orion finished. They both looked at each other with scared faces. Then they dropped to the ground. The girls all rolled their eyes.

"Talk about LAZY!" Liz said, walking over them. "Well we'd better get going…" She suggested. "The mall's gonna close soon…" They all agreed and went down the escalator to the first floor. Orion and Leo ended up going on the wrong one and tried going down on the escalator that goes up. Once the girls got down, they just decided to ignore them and go outside. After about an hour Leo and Orion came out.

"It's about time!!" Aiko said. Then, they saw a white van suddenly park in the nearly empty parking lot. There was someone sitting in it wearing a black trench coat and thick sunglasses. The back of the van there was a bumper sticker that said: 'Don't laugh; your daughter might be in here.'

Everyone looked at it nervously.

"M-maybe we should all walk home together." Adrian brought up.

"Not a bad idea." Juliet replied. They all got in a big group together and walked really fast past the van. The person had their eyes on them as they vastly walked past.

"AHH!!" Orion screamed. "I'm too young to die!!" They all broke into a fast run to their individual homes.
