It Couldn't Be True

Infirmary

Students were looking puzzled at the tall blonde racing through the halls, weaving in and out of the bystanders in his way. He was almost to the infirmary and he was not going to stop for anyone. Seifer was pissed and he was going to speak to that pain-in-the-ass brunette, now!

He looked up to see the sign that declared his destination, when three SeeD's stepped in front of the door. He halted and his green eyes bore into each and every person standing in his way. If they were not going to move, he was going to move them himself.

"Out of my way." He growled.

"Almasy, what's goin' on?" One of them stepped forward and held his long, silvery staff to his side.

"Get out of the way." He stepped forward but was staring at the end of that pretty little staff that was at the other teen's side seconds before.

"Sorry! No can do. Official orders. You know how those are? Gotta follow 'em" Seifer sneered at the bulky SeeD, noticing that he and two others standing behind him were followers of Dagen.

He smacked the staff away from his face.

"I need to go into the infirmary, so get the fuck out of my-"

"Seifer Almasy. Please report to the Headmaster's office now."

Seifer stared dumbfoundedly at the ground for a moment, not believing on what he was hearing. His lips curled into a grin and he started chuckling softly. It was like anything he would try to do would get interrupted or there would be something always drawing him from his destination.

The three men standing in his way did not know what to think besides that Seifer was crazy.

"What are you boys doing?" Two boys stepped aside, letting the shorter woman through. "Why are you all blocking my door?" She noticed Seifer and immediately approached him noticing the anger and frustration radiating from another one of her children that she has taken care of since he was young.

"Seifer?"

"Doc..." She looked at him worried.

"Did they not call your name just now?" He nodded but looked her straight into her eyes. Knowing this boy, she could tell immediately that something was terribly amiss. "Seifer, whatever is the matter, dear?"

"What happened to Squall?" Her face hardened and she turned around facing the teen's who were giving Seifer loathsome glares.

"I want you boys to leave now! I don't care why you are standing here, this is my office and if anyone told you stand here, I override them and have them speak to me if that is a problem. Dismissed!" One was about to speak when the teen with the staff silenced him.

"Let's go. We'll talk to Dagen." As they walked by the tall blonde, they never took their eyes off of him. Seifer could feel the hate overflowing from their glares and he could hear the names that they all called him once before...

Kadowaki placed her hand on Seifer's arm to retrieve him from his daze.

"Inside, dear." They walked inside and she led him into Squall's room. Seifer's eyes spotted the unconscious brunette and his features showed the anger that filled his being that second. There was a large bandage wrapped around his head, much like when they both first scared each other almost a year and some months ago. He was in a white hospital gown and breathing steadily.

Before Seifer could ask of his condition, Kadowaki spoke up.

"The poor dear seems just unwilling to wake up." Seifer moved over to Squall and looked at the man below. He brought his hand up and with the tips of his fingers, gently touched the side of his face, feeling the warmth of the smooth skin. "I have him staying with someone so he can heal faster." Seifer's brows scrunched, disturbed at the new information.

"Who?" Kadowaki could not figure out what was happening or at least she did and was thinking she was reading it all wrong.

"Why Lee Dage-"

"NO!" Seifer whirled around and was standing before her eyes. "You can't! He was the one who did this too him! He wants Squall and he wants to kick me out of Garden!" Kadowaki looked at the distressed teen and clear concern was written across her older features.

"Seifer, I don't-"

"Dagen wants me out! He hates me because of..because of the war and he's threatening to kick me out! I know he's spreading rumors about what actually went on! You have to believe me Kadowaki!" She was taken back by the sudden display of emotions and desperateness in Seifer.

"Seifer Almasy! Come to the Headmaster's office immediately!!" The voice was more forceful over the speakers and had all the students staring up at the speakers, wondering if something was going to happen.

"Seifer-" Seifer shook his head and grabbed the older woman's shoulders with shaky hands.

"Please, don't send him to Dagen." She placed her right hand on his forearm to have him release his hold.

"I will talk to you more later. You get up to the headmaster before he gets anymore angrier and you come back to me immediately." He nodded. "Good, I will be expecting you soon and a fuller explanation and if you don't come, I will go find you."

He couldn't help but smile at the older woman's threat.

"Okay." He turned to look at Squall one last time before he left her in the office and made his way to the headmasters office.
