Chapter 3

The two soldiers turned towards Shukera as they both smirked. Leo replied, "Better you than me."

The other guy, Ryan added, "Yeah, really. I would hate to be alone with that guy. But, then again, rumor has it that you and he are quite an item."

Shukera glared at him angrily as she snapped, "You should not believe everything you hear!"

Leo stood next to her for a moment then sat down on the table in front of her as he replied mockingly, "Well, how else did you end up here and to be personally trained by the commander himself?

Shukera stood up and leaned over so that her face was only inches away from his. She stared coldly into his eyes as she spat, "Do you really want to know how I got here?!?"

Harris knew her reputation well. He had seen her train with Sephiroth several times. He jumped up and pulled Leo away from her. "You really don't want to piss her off. She is very dangerous with her sword and not to mention she's a martial arts master. You really don't want to see her use either one on you."

Leo pulled away from him, "I'm not letting a woman get to me! She has no business being here! I don't care if she's in Soldier or not!" He drew his weapon and challenged her. Shukera shook her head and drew her sword. "Fine, you asked for it!"

At that moment Sephiroth returned to the conference room and caught the two standing there with their weapons drawn. Immediately he shouted at Shukera, "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!?! THAT GUY IS ONLY A SOLDIER FIRST CLASS!!"

Shukera glared at Leo angrily, "That guy, as you say, insulted my ability and accused me of things that is really none of his business!! He's got it coming to him in a big way!!"

Sephiroth shook his head, disgusted, and pointed his finger at her, "You are the top officer of Soldier!! ACT LIKE IT!!"

She shifted her gaze towards Sephiroth, her anger clearly showing on her face. Not taking her eyes off Sephiroth she slowly sheathed her sword.

Sephiroth turned his attention towards Leo. "You have no business addressing a superior office in such a manner! I don't care which officer it is, you show them respect or I will allow her to teach you the meaning of the word!"

Leo smirked, "Taking up for your girlfriend I see."

Sephiroth went to correct him when Shukera jumped up and kicked Leo hard in the stomach. He hit the opposite wall with a thud, knocking the wind out of him upon impact. Shukera shoved Sephiroth out the way as she went after him. She bent down in front of where he slumped against the wall trying to catch his breath. He raised his foot attempting to kick her; the bitch pissed him off!! She grabbed his foot by the ankle and began squeezing it tightly, digging her fingernails into his boot and forcing the leather to tighten around his ankle.

Sephiroth shouted at her angrily, he had enough of this childish behavior. "SHUKERA LET HIM GO NOW!!"

Leo whimpered, "Yeah! Listen to what your boyfriend said!"

In one swift and accurate move, Shukera dropped his leg and slammed her fist square into his face, breaking his nose instantly. Leo's head slumped to the side. Sephiroth just shook his head and ran his fingers through his white hair. Shukera shoved past Sephiroth angrily, pausing at the desk long enough to pick up the pictures she was previously looking at. Sephiroth leaned over the unconscious Soldier to see if he was still alive. Shukera noted he was preoccupied and quickly stuffed Seifer's picture into the pocket of her cloak. She took the others and put them back in the folder, and left them on Sephiroth's desk.

Feeling enraged by the guy's comment about her and Sephiroth, she paused in the door. "I am sick and tired of the rumors and accusations made about me! That's why I am going on this mission!! I will be ready by tomorrow morning. Just let me know when it is time to leave! Frankly, I am looking forward to getting out of this hell hole!" She turned and disappeared down the hallway.

Sephiroth regarded the other two. "I hope you learned your lesson! She should have kicked both of your asses!!"

Harris sat at the table and looked on, amused. He respected Shukera's abilities and her rank. Leo and Ryan were fairly new to Soldier, and, he guessed, didn't know any better. In his opinion Leo got what he deserved. With his smirk fixed on his face, Harris stood up and saluted Sephiroth. "If that's all you have for me sir, I will be going back to my studies. I have the officer's test tomorrow morning."

Sephiroth stood up and saluted him. "You're dismissed. And, good luck with the test."

Harris nodded and gazed one last time at Leo knocked out on the floor. "Serves you right!" He walked out the door smiling, replaying the entire scene over again in his mind.

Finally Leo came to. He slowly lifted his head, moaning with pain. "What happened?" He brought his hand up to his face; it was wet with…blood! His blood spilled from his nose and down to his now stained shirt. "What the fuck happened??"

Ryan laughed, "You taunted Shukera and she knocked you out! It was so hilarious!" Leo snapped, "Commander, how could you let her do that??"

Sephiroth stood up and brushed himself off casually. "Your attitude needed some adjustments. Now you know how she got the where she is, as you put it." He pulled up his shirtsleeve, bearing a scar across his arm. "I got this scar from training with Shukera. She is the only one who can match me blow for blow." He rolled down his sleeve and fixed it back into his glove. "Shukera is not my girlfriend, but I do have a high respect for her fighting ability." He paused as he laughed, "I pity the guy who does try to come on to her."

Sephiroth recalled the memory when Reno decided to make a move on her. "By the way, ask Reno about his encounter with Shukera when you see him." With that, he left the room.

A few minutes later, Sephiroth walked into his office and locked the door behind him. He opened the folder and took the pictures out. Looking over them he thought, "Fools! Your organization will belong to Shinra." He found the one he was looking for and gazed at it for a moment as he thought, "You will be very helpful to me. All I have to do is say a few kind words and you will be under my control."

Looking over the pictures once again he realized one was missing. He went through them three more times before he realized which one it was. Seifer! Sephiroth shook his head, "Shukera, how could you? So, that's your reason for changing your mind. I see…you might be a problem." Sephiroth suddenly smiled, "No matter. When I get through with this one here, she will not know what hit her."
