**My first FF VIII fic… so please be kind. This yaoi kind of so please if you don't like the idea of Squall being with Seifer or Zell… please for your own sake, please read something else. Also..… I'm not the best person with grammar….. so if I mess up please let me know. I know this is short but, I like to build my stories kinda slowly. Prologue : The beginning of a new life.

[Location: Crater located near Lunar Cry. Time period: four months after the defeated of Sorceress Ultimecia. Mission: Destroy the Sorceress Calena. SeeDs dispatched: Commander Squall Leonhart, Irvine Kinneas, Quitus Trepe, Selphie Tilmitt.]

Squall's POV*

"No, Squall!!!"….. the scream from Selphie pierced my ears.

This new Sorceress Calena had me frozen in her spell, she was by far the strongest opponent that any of us had ever faced, in fact she made Ultimecia look like an amateur.

It seemed she too was from the future, a future that surpassed that of Ultimecia, and with that thought this Sorceress laughed as I finally came out of my thoughts and realized that I was trapped in her spell.

"Stupid fool" she hissed. "I warned you that I would make your life a living nightmare. I will make you suffer as countless women have through generations forced to be bound by men"

I briefly wondered if all Sorceress' were insane bitches. I mean….. look at Ultimecia, Adel, Rinoa, and this crazy bitch, there's not a lot to wonder. The only Sorceresses that "I" had met that were not insane had to be Matron and Sis. Rinoa wasn't really crazy, she just controlled me, pretty much like Ultimecia had with Seifer.

My inner monologue was interrupted by sharp and piercing pain ripping throughout my body. I had never experienced anything like it before. Then I did something that I don't normally do ever…..

I screamed.

I screamed until I thought my soul was being pulled out.

`Hell,' I thought `it was being pulled out.'

Somewhere above me the Sorceress laughed.

"Well now my little lioness….. aren't you quite lovely like that." The witch purred.

I don't know if it was my Limit Break that suddenly hit or the fact that this crazy bitch called me a girl…… something only Seifer had ever dare do….. but I bolted to my feet and performed at series of slashes with Lionheart. I watched as she screamed with each strike and then I called my strongest GF, Eden.

Eden tore into her at my command and the barriers around this Sorceress fell. That's when I heard Irvine's shot and watched Calena fall. Almost immediately she fell….. and her aura, the very essence of her power, came looking for a new home.

I stared in a kind of fascinated wonder at the aura and even went so far as to try and touch it. Almost immediately afterward I lost sight of everything and was overcome by darkness.
