Chapter Six.

Zell woke up to someone shaking his shoulder. "We're finally home." Irvine was saying pulling his little friend to his feet, shoving luggage into his arms.

"Already? I was finally starting to get some sleep."

Irvine huffed out a laugh to that one. "Yeah I can tell, you snored in my ear the whole way."

Scrunching his face to the comment, Zell thought different. "I'm not the one that snores when he sleeps and-..."

"You guys!" Selphie shouted running onto the train, pushing other passengers aside. "Hi!" Throwing her arms around them as they both continued walking off the train taking the energetic girl along with them. "Soo, what did you guys do?" She asked backing away beginning to walk towards Zell's house. "I had the best time in the world, we snowboarded, and skied and… oh yeah! We had hot chocolate practically out the ass, the good, flavored kind. Not that swiss miss stuff."

The boys walked along silently listening to Selphie yammer about her own personal trip, when she paused for a break she crossed her arms looking them over. "Hellooo, I asked you how your trip went?"

"Well if you'd of shut up a minute we could have answered." Irvine replied. Zell stuck his house key in the door knob and turned it removing the lock, then he tried balancing the suit cases in his arms to open it, but Selphie squeezed past the two and opened it for them.

"Thanks." Zell said walking in and dropping his bad to the floor, groaning when he was fully in the house. "What's with him?" She asked, gesturing a thumb in the martial artist direction.

"Well, he almost got killed in the park at Deling." Irvine replied.

"What?!" But that response wasn't from Selphie. She and Irvine turned to see Zell's Ma walking out of the kitchen. "What do you mean almost was killed in the park?" She looked at the two of them, then to her son. "Zell what happened are you ok?"

Ma placed her hands on her sons face looking into his eyes. "Zell?"

The blonde backed away from her with a fake smile. "What Irvine means is, I almost died of exhaustion, it was just a run in with a big mean nasty dog." He lied. "Those damned things chase you everywhere."

Martha had a sigh of relief then smacked her son on the shoulder. "Don't use those words in this house."

"No Ma,"

"Now you go upstairs and wash your hands for dinner."

"Yes, Ma." The woman grabbed the towel from off her shoulder and held it in her hands walking back to the kitchen. "Selphie and Irvine you two do the same if you're staying, go on."

"Yes, Ma." They answered following Zell upstairs.

Tapping Irvine on the shoulder Selphie gestured for him to lean down. "So what's the deal with Zell?" She whispered. "I know he wasn't scared by a dog, he loves dogs."

Irvine looked into the bathroom where Zell was standing taking his gloves off then he whispered back. "I don't know, he didn't tell me much just that some guy threatened to kill him- only he kissed him instead, but someone else chased him home that's why he's so freaked out."

Selphie made a sound of 'oh' and looked into the bathroom. "Poor thing."

After drying his hands off, Zell walked out of the bathroom. "All yours." He said and Selphie grinned saluting him before walking into the bathroom to wash up, herself.

"Irvine," Zell took the cowboys arm and led him into his room. "you didn't tell Selphie anything, did you?" He asked and Irvine shook his head.

"Nothin' at all. Hells I don't even really know what happened to you myself."

Zell nodded to that. "Good, good," He murmured. "because nothing happened."

"Right." Irvine answered in what he assumed Zell wanted to hear. The martial artist patted him on the shoulder leaving the room. "Skidded out of that one easy." The cowboy was saying.

"You better hurry up, you know Zell is a big eater." Selphie said as she waltzed out of the bathroom and downstairs.

"I'll be there in a minute." He replied and sighed. 'Well, there's one thing to be happy for. We're out of there and ain't never gonna see that town again.'

* * *

The soil moved gently away from a grave and Seifer climbed from out of the dirt. 'Good, Squall's still sleeping.' The blonde noted and pulled himself out the rest of the way. A thin smile spread across his face as he saw the that the old women have struck again placing poppy seeds down on their graves.

'That'll keep him distracted for a while.' He almost felt kind of sorry for his lover, Squall is a mixed breed because of his parents. Part of him was Slavic like Seifer and another part of him was Ch'Iang Shih.

So Squall would be forced to stay here until he was done counting them. A curse placed on that kind many years ago. Seifer wasn't sure why he was doing what he was doing but, he knew he had to do it or he'd never rest. 'I have to know why that boy wasn't afraid of me.' He walked along casually knowing that being seen wouldn't exactly be any kind of give away to what he was.

Slavic vampires looked like humans and easily fit in until making themselves known. When Squall and Seifer first met outside of their grave spots, they used to go to clubs and talk to each other all hours of the night until eventually they became lovers.

They spent night after night killing humans and having sex, nothing could tear them apart. And no one....well at least Seifer thought so until recently. Now he found himself heading to the Deling Hotel, but he wasn't alone.

"I know you're back there Laguna, show you're ugly face." Seifer said not breaking his pace into the city. An owl came flying from the trees and landed near the blonde transforming back into the beautiful dark haired man.

"Where are you going?" Laguna asked.

"None of your business." Seifer answered.

"I'm making it my business, or I'll tell Squall that you're not exactly hunting on these early nights that you wake yourself up." The strigoi broke into a stride next to the blonde walking in step with him. "I know where it is that you're heading." Laguna humored himself with the look on Seifer's face. "You're going to see that human boy aren't you?" He asked.

"Why ask questions you already know the answers to?" Seifer retorted. Seeing that he reached the destination he walked up the door of the hotel and looked in. The sign on the front read: welcome, so he let himself in pushing the door opened.

The woman behind the desk smiled when she saw him and the little woman by the elevator greeted them with a bow. The two just looked them over as they made their way to the booking clerk. "How may I help you?" She asked.

"I'm looking for a boy, a blonde one about-..." He held his hand up. "This tall, he was here with another boy with a ponytail."

"I'm sorry, we're not allowed to give out information about our guest." The woman replied.

"So then he was here?" Seifer asked.

Laguna narrowed his eyes at the woman then looked down into the book that held the guests names. "Do any of the names smell familiar to you?" Laguna whispered in Seifer's ear.

The Slav looked down at the paper getting a whiff of a bunch of human smells, performs, b.o lotions. His nose skimmed the scents one at a time until one of them caught his nose. 'Zell Dincht and Irvine Kinneas. Room 203.' He mentally noted and looked back up to the woman.

"I really can't help you sir, and if that's all you've came here for I'm gonna have to ask you to leave the hotel." The woman looked around blankly. "Where'd he go?"

Outside Seifer is looking the side of the building up and down. "The boy is staying on the fourth floor." He was saying. "You can go now."

Laguna laughed rather high pitched and looked up. "Aren't wee acting like an Incubus, besides you said his friend was a boy with a ponytail he may be my unfinished business." He stated.

"I am not some sex driven-...." His words were paused when he saw the light come on in the room that was Zell's. "Come on." He motioned with his hand. The two of them climbed up the fire escape to the third floor. Someone was in there alright, but it wasn't Zell- the scent was different.

Watching the person through the curtain, the figure moved around the room by the beds as though he were fixing them. Seifer moved his finger to his lips indicating for Laguna to be quiet, while he slipped into the room. "Ohhh thiiis is the niiiight, it's a beeauuutiful niiight."

Listening to the voice, he could tell that it was a woman. 'Why would she be in here?' He wondered and slipped along the floor like a shadow bumping himself into a table knocking a cup over. "And they call it beel-..." The woman froze and looked around the room. "Whose there?" she asked. "Whose there?"

Silence. When she saw the curtains moving she sighed with relief. "Of course Peggy, paper cups can't beat the wind." Walking over to the window she moved the curtains away to pull the window down. "Aaaahhh!!!" She screamed seeing the black haired Strigoi sitting in the window sill.

"Hellooo....." Laguna said dropping a foot to the floor stepping inside of the room with the woman.

"Oh gods, you scared me half to death. I thought this room was empty I'll leave if you want me to." She was saying backing up from Laguna's approach.

She breathed out a laugh and bumped into something, glancing back she saw Seifer smirking down at her. "Wh- what's going on?" She asked trying to move herself from the blondes grip.

"I need to ask you a question." Seifer said lowly, seductively.

"Huh?" The girl replied.

"The boy that's staying in this room, where is he?" He asked gliding a finger down her cheek.

"I- I think he- he checked out earlier this morning." She stammered breathing hard feeling his nail dig into her skin.

"Oh...." Was all Seifer said letting her lean back into him, he started to rock back and fourth with the girl as though he were dancing with her. The woman let him for fear of what may happen if she didn't. It was bad enough she was getting a sudden panic attack watching Laguna's eyes follow their movements with his eyes, something about them seemed off almost un-natural.

"Do you know where I may be able to locate him? Did he change hotels?" He continued to grill her but she didn't know the answers.

"I'm sorry, I just clean the rooms… I don't know anything about the guest that stay here, except they're lousy tippers." Her laugh was choked out and shaky from fear.

"......Fair enough, I believe you." Seifer moved away from the girl and over to the window. "Lag' do your thing." He said before leaping out of the window.

"With pleasure." The strigoi answered.

"Wha-what are you gonna dooo?" The girl asked. Laguna smiled into a grin, then opened his mouth.

Seifer walked in silence hearing the shrill screech of Laguna's voice and the woman's screams fill the night air.

A man walking by looked up in the direction of the sound. "Damn, must be good." He commented continuing down the street.

...........................

"Hey," Squall said seeing Seifer walk up. "how's it goin'?" The brunette asked.

"Fine, I think people are starting to listen to the police now about the lock down by a certain time the streets are practically bare." He lay down next to his lovers out stretched body and watched him as he unconsciously counted the seeds. He took in the gorgeous petite form of him and leaned over giving him a kiss.

"Almost done?" Seifer asked refering to the counting job.

"Don't know." Squall replied plainly.

There was silence for a moment, then Seifer looked over at his lover putting on a smile. "Since we're gonna be low on food for a while, how's about we take a trip?"

Squall sat straight up grinning. "Where should we go? Personally I vote Winhill, no police and that town is so damned lazy a person could make a lifestyle there." His mind was already thinking of ways and days to kill people with his lover.

"I was thinking maybe along the lines of Dollet, or maybe Esthar all that rich blood could do some good." Squall pushed Seifer to the ground and straddled him, planting kisses on his face.

"If we can't decide where to go then we're screwed." He breathed onto his blonde lovers lips.

"Well," Seifer said returning the kiss. "We do have one other option...." The kissing went on a minute until Squall backed away from it.

"And what's that?" He asked.

Seifer swallowed and smiled as honestly as he could. "We could go out scouting alone and come back here when we find the right place to go...?" Squall seemed to be thinking it over and his face said he wasn't giving in. "Who knows how long we'll be away from each other, sure you can survive without me?" He joked.

"I hope so, and if I can't… reuniting is gonna feel good." Seifer replied leaning up kissing Squall again. They were locked in the kiss, making only quick sharp ones because staying together too long would only resort to soul sucking, something which all vampire's feared.

After breaking away from the kiss, Squall's hips began to rock up and down against Seifer. "You know," He said. "you still owe me from the night before." Rolling over Seifer sat up on Squall's thighs and tore at his pants slipping down his lovers body. '....Zell Dincht?' Seifer thought. 'I'm comin' for you....'
