Final Fantasy - All Series Fan Fiction ❯ Starla's Dance ❯ Chapter 4
Lurking down the streets, Cloud herd wails of people, and saw flickers of lights off in the distance. Survivors were on alert tonight. A wise move, but futile if Cloud felt like killing again. For now he had a mission. Glancing behind him he searched for anyone who might be wandering.
A light suddenly shown in his face. Cloud cringed and put a hand over his eyes. Backing up he started to reached for his sword, but paused. The man shifted closer to him.
"Shouldn't you see a healer for that? Looks like Cloud got you good." The man said shifting the light. "Oh my go-"
Cloud suddenly swung down his sword. Blood, bone and brain matter gushed into the air as the sword sliced down through his head. Dividing the mans skull almost equally in half diagonally. He stood frozen with the sword outstretched as the body parts rained down unto everything. Then stoically he stood and wiped brain matter from his face.
"Pathetic," Cloud hissed.
Ignoring the shrill whistles, and screams behind him, Cloud continued on in the darkness. Yet again he was in the mood to kill. It would take awhile for them to catch up, but they would. Then he would have his fun, his joy. Cloud's eyes narrowed in anticipation; he couldn't wait.
Screw his mission of killing Sephiroth and that bitch first tonight. He shouldn't have to wait for what is owed to him. These insects didn't own their own lives. They belong to the hero's that spared them. Hero's that lay rotting in unkempt graves.
"Sir."
The voice of a child made Cloud start. Off to the side he had to squint to see a tiny form of a little girl. Slowly he put his sword behind him and secured it. Kindly he kneeled in front of her. Taking her shoulders lightly. A malicious smile crossed his face. In the dark she didn't see, if she did she would have ran back home.
"Your out late little one." Cloud said sweetly.
"I know sir, but you see-" Her voice turned a little shy. "I lost my kitty."
"What's your kitties name?"
"Gage."
"I'm sorry, Gage is going to have to find a new owner now."
The girl blinked puzzled. "Huh?"
Swiftly Cloud snapped the girls neck. The young bones barely crunching as they were separated from each other. Picking up the limp body of the girl he waited for her parents to call. Or parent. Never know she may not have any after this morning. Soon his answer came.
"Donna! Donna!"
Cloud smirked and swallowed. "Over here mommy." Cloud said mimicking the girls voice.
"Donna there you are, didn't I tell you to leave that stupid barn cat alone. It's to dangerous out tonight."
"But mommy!" Cloud whined talking like the girl. "I love Gage, he's such a good kitty. And that mean person may get him an' hurt him."
Cloud could hear the mother approaching him. His eyes narrowed and watched her approach. He could see the caution and hesitance through the darkness. Maybe she wasn't as stupid as she appeared to be. Suddenly he found a light of a flashlight in his face. She came prepared, but it was to late for her.
"Hello mother," Cloud still said to the horrified mother still in her child's voice; still holding her dead child.
