Chapter 1:

Leaving To Meet Fate

Sephiroth sat in his bed breathing deeply. Sweat had covered his intire body. He looked around and found no one there. The room was dark. Only the light of the morning sun shine in from a near by window. He got out of bed and walked over to the window. He opened it and allow the cool earily morning air run over his wet skin. His silver hair dance slowly around his shoulders as he looked out the wide window to the busy streets of Sector 5.

"Hey, Spiky!" Zack's voice ring through the air to the 3rd floor of Sephiroth's bluiding. He looked down to see Cloud with Zack's arm wrapped around his neck. Zack whispered something in his ear, which made the small boy blush. Sephiroth smiled at them. Ten to one Zack whispered something about last night when Cloud had kissed him. The boy was drunk and had told Sephiroth everything and before he knew it. He had kissed him. Of coruse, the General kissed back. He'd always like the boy and now he had him.

Sephiroth sighed as Cloud and Zack vanished around the corner. He walk over to his dresser to get dress for the mission. They had to go to Nibelheim, Cloud's home town, to take a look at the Mako Reactor. He grepped the Masamune off the wall where he had it hanging and walked out the door. He had 55 minutes before he had to show up. So, he was going to see his little angel before he goes.

Sephiroth waited in the shadows for 10 minutes until the all the doctors left. Then he walked out to find a young girl setting on a lad bed. He smiled alittle when he seen Dr. King. She waved to him as she left them alone. She was the only doctor beside Dr. Walts who cared for his little angel.

He slowly walk up behind the girl. As he reashed to place his hand on her shoulder, she turned around to meet his gaze with tears in her persian blue eyes that shined with the hint of a Mako injection. Her eyes were going dark because of the injections. Sephiroth's smile soften. He used his gloved hand to wipe away the pure tears. He moved her dark brown hair out of her face.

"Quick it now, little angel," Sephiroth whispered.

"You're leaving again?" the 12 year old asked in a weak voice.

"Yes, I'm going to...."

"Nibelheim to look at the reactor. I know."

"How do you know?"

"I just do."

"Hmm. Okay."

"They gave me another green shot with something else."

"Something else?"

"Something white. I think it was Materia. Not sure though."

"Is that why you're crying? Because it's hurt?" he asked her.

"No...." She lowered her head.

"Then what?"

"You're going and not coming back this time."

"What?!" The girl rased her head and looked at Sephiroth. "What do you mean? Of coruse, I'm coming back, Angel. I always do."

"Not this time...." The little girl's eyes shined bright but not of Mako. But of something else. "Fate won't let you."

Sephiroth looked at her for a minute. Then kissed her on the forehead and hugged her.

"I *will* be back, my angel," he whispered into her ears. Then he left her, looking back once.

"No, you're not," the child said as tears filled her eyes again. "You're not coming back...."

Sephiroth stood looking out the large window of the upper level of the inn in Nibelheim. The words of his little angel playing in his head. 'You're going and not coming back this time.' 'Not this time....' 'Fate won't let you.' The words worried him. He didn't know why. They never did before, but then again, the words were always kind and good to hear. Not filled with sorrow and pain like it was a few days ago. The saddness that was in her blue orbs pained him.

"Oh?" ~Hmm?~ Sephiroth turned around to see his newest angel. Cloud stood at the top of the stairs staring at him. A slite blush appeared on his lovely face.

"You should get some sleep for tomorrow," Sephiroth suggested calmly.

"Yes, Seph," Cloud said as he headed past the General. Then he froze and looked towards Sephiroth, who stared at him wide-eyed. "I mean... yes, sir!"

Cloud ran into the room and shut the door behind. His face burned a deep red as he sat down on the bed. He lifted his legs and wrapped his arms around them and place his face in the middle of them. He messed up! Oh, boy! Did he mess up! He called him Seph! What was he thinking?! He knew what was going to happen next and paryed to the gods for it not to. He was going to kill Zack for this! Same to Dan, the other SOLDIER with them. They had planned this. Zack knew he would call the general Seph if he knew they were alone. ~DAMN YOU! I'm going to kill you Zack!~

Suddenly, the door opened and closed. Cloud knew who it was and wasn't going to move for the hell of it. His arms wrapped tighter around his legs as he heard the soft footsteps stop in front of him.

"Cloud?" the gentle voice came. Cloud didn't move.

"Cloud, look at me." He didn't move.

"Cloud, please?" The small SOLDIER slowly lifted his head and looked at the man kneeling in front of him. His soft green eyes glowing with something besides Mako.

"Seph, I.... hmp...." Cloud's words were cut off by a kiss from the taller man. Cloud eyes were wide for few seconds, but he started to melt into the warm kiss and his eyes slowly closed. His legs when down for Sephiroth to pull him closer.

The small angel wrapped his arms around his lover's neck and pulled him on top of him. Sephiroth licked Cloud's lower lip asking for entry and Cloud willing parted his lips a little to allow the larger man's tongue to enter.

~This has to be Heaven.~ Sephiroth thought. ~Cloud taste so good.~ His little angel has to be wrong. He would never leave her or Cloud. Ever! He loved the two to much and one day he would take them both far away from Shinra and Hojo. Where they all could live in peace. But to night he would enjoy the time of being with his new and *only* lover, Cloud. ~Of corsue, I'll have to take Zack. Angel, won't go without him.~

Love was made that night without the knowledge of the events to come, which would tear Sephiroth from the only two people he ever loved, and then the events that would bring them back together.
