Disclaimer: Like I could really come up with the plots of Final Fantasy? Or blitzball, Triple Triad, Chocobos, and the names of the characters? No I couldn't. I don't own Final Fantasy or Square-Enix.

It tilted its head back and made a jerking motion that appeared to light up its eyes. The nearest building exploded into a heap of rubble. The explosion made the Farris Wheel jerk dangerously back and forth. Squall desperately wished for a GF at that moment.
Underneath them Squall could hear the gears moan under the tittering weight. The Farris Wheel started to tilt to one side. “Shit!” Squall screamed. He jumped out of the seat and onto one of the metal bars. “Rinoa! Give me your hand!” He held his hand out but just as soon as he touched Rinoa's hand the Farris Wheel started to fall over.
He lost his grip on the bar and fell tumbling down. Rinoa was knocked out of her chair and landed on top of Squall. He wrapped his arms around her, hoping to give her some chance of surviving with his body and waited for the solid impact of the ground to come. It never came. He opened up his eyes to see Rinoa smiling down at him. He felt around her back and touched something that felt much like a…wing. Her Angel Wing limit break must have happened under the terror of dying.
She flew down to the ground and landed before folding her wings back, causing them to disappear. She smiled at him and opened her mouth to say something but Zell grabbed her and swung her around before she could say anything. After spinning her around a few times he went over to hug Squall but was stopped with a look. Instead he just settled on hugging Rinoa again.
“I can't believe you guys are all right! I thought you were goners for sure!” He looked close to tears. Squall stopped him before he could say anything more.
“Zell, where is everyone else?” He looked around at the destruction the Farris Wheel caused. The gigantic wheel crushed most of the games. Limbs could be seen sticking out under broken beams and toppled roofs. He hoped that some of them didn't belong to his friends.
“We're right here.” Irvine's cowboy accent was unmistakable. Squall looked over to see Irvine, Selphie, and Quistis walking towards them. Squall let out an exasperated breath.
“I'm…., glad you guys are all right.” He said, though he felt like saying a lot more.
“Awwww, Squall's showing affection for someone!” Selphie cooed.
Squall just crossed his arms and said “Whatever.”
“Um, guys,” Quistis interrupted, “I'm glad we're all safe but what about the huge monster now destroying Balamb!” She pointed at the monster.
Zell punched his hand. “We're gonna kick its butt, that's what!”
Squall shook his head. “Zell, we don't even have our weapons. How are we going to beat it?” Zell hung his head.
“You couldn't even if you had your weapons.” A gruff voice said behind them. All six of them turned around. A tall man wearing a red robe with one arm out of its sleeve and hanging on it like a splint. He was holding a large sword over one shoulder. A jug was tied to his belt. A collar came up to his nose, covering most of his mouth, while dark shades covered most of his eyes, but a scar could be seen on his right eye.
“And who are you to know?” Squall asked suspiciously. The man just answered with a “hmph” and walked towards them.
“That monster is one of many. It's going to destroy your whole word unless you come with me.”
“What!?” Zell cried out. “We can't just let it destroy Balamb!”
“Where are you going to take us?” Squall asked, ignoring Zell.
“Just follow me if you want to know how to stop it.” The man turned around towards the forest. Squall started out to follow him.
“Yo, Squall! Your just gonna trust this guy? You don't even know if he's telling the truth.”
“Zell,” Squall began, annoyed. “Do you have any idea what that thing is?” Zell shook his head. “You don't even know where it came from. I think the guy knows a lot more about it than we do. Besides, what other choice do we have?” Zell hung his head and kicked an imaginary rock before following Squall. Quistis crossed her arms before also following Squall. Rinoa looked at Selphie and Irvine before following them. Selphie jumped up and down and jogged after them. Irvine let out a frustrated breath while jogging after Selphie.
“So, you're coming?” The man asked. Squall and the others nodded their heads. “Alright then, try to keep up.” He ran off into the woods.
The path he took them on was small and had many obstacles. More than once Squalls shirt was torn by a branch or thorn. They were forced to jump over rocks and streams while trying to keep up with the man, who in front was cutting down any monsters that jumped in his path. Squall ducked under a half hidden branch while keeping his eyes on the path the man was making. He heard a muffled yell as Zell hit his head on the branch.
Squall was starting to get a cramp when the man halted in front of a waterfall. Rinoa and Quistis came to a stop shortly after followed by Irvine, Selphie, and Zell, who was still rubbing his face where the branch had hit him. “Now what?” Squall asked.
The guy grunted and nodded his head towards the waterfall. Squall waited a few minutes before growing annoyed. He was about to say something when the waterfall split. The water split in two to show a symbol. The symbol glowed brightly. “Touch it,” The man said. “Touch it, if you want to save your world.” Squall didn't move. “Well?”
Rinoa surprised them all by being the one to ask, “How will that save the world?”
“It's not, but it will take you to the one place you will be able to defeat the threat behind that monster you just saw.”
Rinoa stepped towards it. “Rin…” Squall began. Rinoa turned towards him and mouthed, “Don't worry.” Before walking up to the symbol and pressing her hand against it. A bright light consumed her, and then she was gone.
“Rinoa!” Squall shouted, hoping to hear her say that everything was all right. Her sweet voice never came. He angrily marched up to the man. “Where is she!?” The man grunted and nodded his head towards the symbol. Squall glared at him before marching up to the symbol and slapping his hand onto it. A flash of bright light blinded him for a moment. He closed his eyes to and lifted his hands to shield his eyes.
“Squall, look.” Squall opened his eyes to see Rinoa. “Rin….”
“Look.” Squall obeyed and looked to where she was pointing. His eyes widened when he saw his surroundings. They were on a platform that seemed to hover in midair, right next to a waterfall. The land seemed to stretch miles and miles to each side, all covered in flowers. Behind him he heard Selphie gasp.
“Where are we?” She asked in awe. Irvine appeared right next to her in a flash of bright light. He too stared at the land in awe. Zell soon appeared next to him.
“Welcome to the Farplane.” A voice said behind them. They all turned around to see a rough looking man with a large tattoo on his chest. “The name's Jecht. I'm guessing you're the hero's of your world that Auron was sent to get, heh?”
“You mean that man in the red robe?” Rinoa asked.
“Heh, ya that's him. Just don't call it a robe around him, call it a jacket.”
“Where is this place?” Selphie asked him.
“I think I can answer that question a bit better than Jecht can.” A new voice emerged. Out of nowhere, pyreflies formed a tall man in a rather ridiculous looking outfit. His voice wasn't as harsh sounding as Jecht or Auron, and his face looked more kind.
“Hmph, ya, you probably could, Braska, I'm no good with explanations.”
Braska smiled at Jecht before turning his attention back on the astounded group. “Your probably wondering where this is and why your even here, right? Well, let's do it this way, you ask questions as I go along and I'll tell you all I can, all right?”
Selphie jumped up and down, waving her hand. “Um, Mr.Braska, how did you just appear out of nowhere?”
“Just Braska, please, and to answer your question, I'm dead. And you're in the middle of where all dead people `live' I guess you could call it.”
“Whoa!” Zell exclaimed, “So if I put my hand through you, it would like, actually go through, like a ghost?”
Braska chuckled. “Yes, it would, but please don't try to. Your next question is probably one of a bit more importance, like, what was that thing that attacked your world. It's called an aeon, much like your garden force, or GF. Its name is Anima, and it was summoned by a man named Seymour. You might have seen him while walking around. He is very hard to miss.”
Squall thought back to the creepy looking blue-haired man. “Blue hair?” He asked.
“Yes, that would be him. There aren't many people walking around with that kind of hair. He is also one of the departed. But somehow, he managed to, I guess you could call it, `break free' of the Farplane. Probably with the help of a powerful magic user.”
Squall cut in. “Ultimecia!?” He asked, worried that maybe Ultimecia was messing with the world once again so soon.
“No way, we killed her, right?” Irvine asked, not sounding too sure himself.
Braska interrupted before anyone could answer back. “We don't know if it even was with help. Seymour could've disrupted the balance between the worlds easily. He is what we call a summoner, and a strong one at that. Summoners train almost all their life to finally pray at a cloister of trials. If the fayth finds them worthy, they give them an aeon.”
“What are fayths?” Rinoa asked curiously.
“Fayths are people who have given their live to help beat a powerful force called Sin. Sin was created when the people of a place called Zanarkand used machina, or machines, to wage war. That was over 1000 years ago. Summoners were trained to go on Pilgrimages to defeat Sin, but Sin always came back. Then a new summoner comes along and kills it again.”
“Excuse me,” Irvine said, “Sin always came back? Why doesn't the same Summoner just defeat it again?”
Braska looked down. “I was once a summoner. I gave my life to summon the Final Aeon and kill Sin. Summoners have to sacrifice one of their guardians to become a Final Aeon, who kills the Summoner. Jecht offered to do it for me. My daughter, Yuna, was the one summoner that didn't die and didn't have to summon the Final Aeon. She is the one that defeated Sin forever.”
“But what does it have to do with us being here and that thing in Balamb?” Squall asked, starting to get impatient.
Braska looked up again. “We don't know how, but we guess that Sin has come back. My daughter destroyed it for good, and didn't have sacrifice a guardian to create a new one, but there are many ways that Sin could've come back, though most of the ideas we have come up with are mostly farfetched. We had thought that Sin could only cross between the dream world and the real one, but if it has come back, it can also pass between dimensions. It has left holes in some dimensions that are big enough to let humans pass into, that's how you are here.”
“Thanks for the lecture, but why is that thing destroying our home town?” Squall asked.
“Because, the bad guy can.” Auron's deep voice said. “Here.” Auron handed each of them their weapons and their fighting clothes/gear. “Sorry it took so long Braska.” Braska nodded his head. Auron looked at Squall. Squall glared right back. “Hmph. Do you really know anything about our enemies?” Squall shook his head, but held his glare. “Thought so. Sin was born to kill, it kills anything and everything. Seymour believes that the only way to have peace is to die, so he kills. There are more out there, but we don't know exactly, that's why we're searching dimensions. To see what we are up against and who can help us.”
“So, when do we get to destroy the bad guy and save the world?” Zell asked, thinking that one or two guys wouldn't be a problem after what they have faced.
“I like your spunk kid,” Jecht laughed gruffly, “But you have no idea what you're up against. That's why you're here. You have to wait for some help. It shouldn't be long, they've been up against as many odds as you have, you know.”
Squall hooked his belts on and put his sword through them. “What are we supposed to do while we wait? Sit around, waiting, while some monster destroys the world?”
“You're to train.” Auron answered. “You have no idea what summons are, how to the use the different magic that are in the dimensions, how to kill fiends that you don't know about, or how to summon. Jecht and I can teach most to you, but Braska will show whoever is the definite magic user how to use different types of magic we've found.”
“We don't know when or who is going to help, but hopefully it'll be enough.” Braska said.
Zell smacked his fists together. “So when do we start training?”
“Ehh, you can start now, with me.” Jecht replied. “Didn't catch your name though.”
“Zell Dincht.” Zell said walking up to Jecht and holding out his hand. Jecht waved it off.
“Zell? What kind of name is that? And what's with your face? You look like a pop-star.” (A/E: Guess which one. Who has hair like Zell? Hmmm)
All four, minus Squall, laughed at Zell, forgetting for a moment what the situation was. “Does anyone have a camera? That look is priceless!” Quistis said. Zell shot the other blond a dirty look.
“Well, shall we get started?” Jecht asked, holding out his hand. Pyreflies swarmed up into his hand and created a hooked sword.
“Tch, sure.” Zell said a bit angrily, raising his fists.
Squall turned away from Zell and walked up to Auron. He took his Gunblade out and went into attack position. “You're challenging me?” Squall didn't move. Auron shrugged. “Fine.” He shrugged back his left arm, causing his jacket to fall off on the left side. “Let's go.”

This chapter was a little hard. I'm trying to get all my chapters to have 2000 words or more but with this one it was a bit hard. It'll get better once everyone has been briefed on everyone and everything. Then it'll be a lot easier. And try to remember what Zell's hair looks like. Hint: The guy who has the same looking hair was popular in the 90s.
