Chapter Two: An Awkward Encounter, A Good Cover

~Seifer~

I can't help but feel tense as I open the door to our double dorm. I mean it's not like I have a friend being moved out of the room, but the fact I can't get over is that I wasn't even asked. That damned 'Lion of Balamb' thinks he's so great now he's Garden's Commander. "Well... Here it is. Home, sweet home." I say to her as she slides into the door past me. She visibly relaxes once she's in the living room/kitchen common room of our dorm. I point her over to the room that basically went unused, well that would change soon. "That will be your room. I'll take you into town tomorrow after class, so you can get what you want for your room. So go get some sleep Ms. Andrews."
"Please call me Arien. Um Seifer?" she says her voice trembling a little. I turn to look at her. It's easy to feel her fear. < sadness, regret, fear, self-hatred "I don't want to be a sorceress... I just want to be a normal girl. I never wanted this to happen and I'm sorry that I'm dragging you into this..."> Man after all that I feel like a total bastard. "Look... we can't change any of this. We just have to accept it and move on. We may not have asked for it, we may not even like it but it's the role fate gave us." ughhh... that sounded mean. "Honestly...I'm kinda happy that I'm a sorceress's Knight again. Especially for a girl as kind hearted as you. I might not yet be comfortable around sorceresses but I'm getting there. 'Shut up!' I cry at the strange voices in my head. I pull out my CD player and headphones and blast my head with music drowning out the annoying voices, which ends up dying from lack of battery power. I walk into my room and pick up the small knife from the table. I strip off my shirt and sit down at my desk, extending my arm out before myself. Lines of scars run along it. I raise the knife and cut down the length of my arm, shuddering in excitement at the pain. One of my many fucked up issues is that I find physical pain that I inflict on myself sexually pleasurable. I wake up to the very loud blare of a trumpet over the loudspeaker. It startles me so badly I topple out of bed... Wait... I never went to bed last night. I was with Seifer in the living room... he... he was so nice to me even though I could tell he was hating every minute of being in that room with me. I mean it's common knowledge of what the Sorceress Ultimecia made him do, so I can't blame him for hating what I am. After a moment of thought I stand up and move into the common room. A wonderful aroma catches my nose and I find myself looking across the room to the door seeing Seifer walking in with a small carton of food.
"Morning, princess." he greets me in a rather sarcastic manner that I can't help but find amusing. "I wasn't sure what you like so I kinda asked the cafeteria ladies to double my usual morning order. At first they kinda gave me that funny look they sometimes give me until Squall told them that I had a new roommate and I was bringing you some breakfast as well. He said sliding a little bag my way. I reach forward, snag the small bag and settle down next to him. He's really every bit as handsome as I'd heard. Short blonde hair, that is brushed back and maybe a little gelled, except for a few strands that refuse to stay put. The scar across the bridge of his nose looks rather elegant in a rough sort of way. It sits between his beautiful emerald eyes. I suddenly realize I'm staring when he says in my head, <"Like what you see, princess?" amusement>
"Oh! Sorry... I was just..."
"Just enjoying the sight that your going to see every morning?" he said with a smirk.
"I didn't mean that." I grumble in frustration. "I was just enjoying being in your company. Well, that and wondering about that scar. Doesn't the Commander have the same scar?"
"Gave him that scar. And he gave me the reverse scar. We were training back before he'd become a SeeD and the Commander. I got carried away and accidently used my special attack, Fire Cross. I knocked him down and he looked up at me as I brought Hyperion down and cut him across his nose. Needless to say he was pissed as hell. It was the very first time I'd gotten him that pissed off. I was proud as hell too. I'd been working at trying to get him angry since we lived in Matron Edea's orphanage. Of course I'd always get into a bit of trouble. But it was kinda my goal at the time... I never got him more pissed than that one time." he says looking at me. Then his gaze falls to the floor. "And while I was the sorceress Ultimecia's knight I did awful things to him. At one point he was hurt pretty bad and I was being a little bastard and punched him in the gut just before he was subjected to he was taken for a bit of torture in D-District Prison. During that torture they shocked and nearly electrocuted him. I mean I love showing him up and all but not when he can't even fight back... Shortly after he killed Ultimecia and he let me rejoin Garden and all, I started having nightmares about what she did to me. Squall realized it and helped me. We still don't get along great... but at least he doesn't hate me." He pauses and looks up at me. "Eat up and get dressed, we've got one hour before I have to take you to meet Instructor Shienrei. She's one of the cool instructors. I think Squall has already talked to all the instructors about you so they can help keep people off your back. I think that goes for the members of SeeD too." I open my bag and pull out the breakfast sandwich. It's like a mini-sub. It's got egg, cheese, bacon, and sausage. He reaches to a spot on the carton and hands me a coffee and drops a whole mess of creams and sugars on the table. I take three creams and three sugars and mix them into my coffee. I take a sip and smile as the warmth spreads through my body. Breakfast continues in an awkward silence and as I get up and head to my room to get dressed I say to him, "Thanks for breakfast."
"Wait a sec." He says handing me a box from the other side of the couch. "Try on your uniform. See if it fits." I take the box and try on the uniform in my room. I step out and look to him when I see his jaw drop.
"Um... do I look ok?" I don't know wether a jaw drop with him is good or bad. He just kinda nods dumbly. I giggle at his stunned face and go change into my normal clothes. Ah my black and silver top and my blue-jeans. ((No, not all jeans are blue. I've seen black and beige and don't ask me what other colors I've seen. It would scare ya.)) I come out and don't see Seifer any where. < desire, want, lust> I see that the bathroom door is closed and when I try the handle it opens. I hear a muffled moan coming from the bathroom accompanied by a sort of slapping sound. Nervously I peer in and.......... Oh my god. I have to turn away from the sight. Having lived in a house with only women my whole life ((Yeah she lived a very sheltered life her )) I've never actually seen male genitalia but now I know I have been certainly missing out. I peek back into see him fisting his length his hand covering his mouth. Suddenly I hear his voice in my head for the shock of a life time.
<"You know it's rude to watch people while their taking care of themselves."> I can't help but yelp now that I know he's realized that I'm there. <"Didn't know you were into voyeurism. If you really want you can watch, Arien."> I edge the door open and see him looking at me with those sexy emerald eyes. It gets my blood racing. I stare at him as he fists himself. I finish!" he cries out as he drastically increases his pace. For some reason I can't move. "Come on, let's get you to class. Shienrei is expecting you." He says making for the door. I grab my weapon and shrink it so that I can carry it with ease.

~Seifer~

She's embarrassed and it so fricken cute! She chases along behind me and sticks close to me as we walk through the halls of our home and school. Her shoes make soft tapping sounds as she follows me so closely. As we enter the elevator two other students enter with us and she nervously grabs my arm. The students look at me in disgust and her with mild curiosity.
My mind keeps drifting back to this morning, feeling her arousal and embarrassment, but obvious interest. "She's that new roommate of his, ya know?" Rajin says to Fujin while Arien hides behind me.
"Guys... Please just hear me out she didn't want what happened to her and we need your support." I say to them and Rajin smacks his forehead.
"Seifer, did you get her pregnant, ya know?" Ohhhh I'm gonna kick his ass. Fujin stomps on his foot.
"No, I didn't get her pregnant. She... She is my Sorceress." I say softly taking her hand and find her grip cold.
<fear "Seifer! I'm scared"> she presses herself to me for protection.
"UNDERSTAND." says Fujin and I relax a bit.
"Well Seifer... We'll stand by you no matter what. We're your posse, ya know." Rajin says.
"Well then meet the newest member of the disciplinary squad, Arien Natalie Andrews." I say pulling her in front of me a bit and hugging her from behind. She smiles I think and says hi to my two best friends who warmly welcome her into our self-appointed squad. And of course to spoil the good moment Instructor Shienrei comes in.
"Ahh Miss Andrews, it seems you've had no trouble finding friends." I hear her say and I stand up to my full height saluting the woman. "Ah, you must be her Knight. I guess it can't be helped." I have to use all myself control to not do anything to the woman, so I take Arien's hand and lead her back to where my seat is.
"I'll be helping her learn the stuff she needs to know." I announce and leave Instructor Shienrei in shock. Another new student comes in wearing the uniform. She's got long blonde hair and seems fairly cheerful. She chats at Shienrei for a while and then comes over to sit in front of Arien and me.
"Hi! Nice to meet you. I'm Anya Celstina, I just transferred here from Trabia Garden." She sits down and begins looking through her study panel. I quickly show Arien how to use her study panel and show her the rules and different stuff she needs to know along with the proper salute. Any of the students who are in SeeD are out working to bring in money for the school, and here come the rest of the students. Today is the review for the SeeD test and tomorrow were taking the written exam, then after that is the Field Exam, which puts us in a real combat situation. Anya smiling merrily in her seat due to the fact that she doesn't have to take the Balamb Garden test, she passed the Trabia Garden exam. Irvine and Selphie, who happen not to be out on assignment, are here to lecture us about what being SeeD means and why it is so important to the school. And Selphie seems to recognize Anya, while Irvine seems to notice two things. One that there are two new girls for him to hit on and that only Anya appears to be single. That's not saying that I'm dating Arien or anything... but she's just about glued to me. I can't help but smirk at the cowboy as he winks at Anya. I don't think Selphie is gonna be to happy with him. I sit back and point out certain important things to Arien who's just absorbing all the information like a sponge. The first half of class is almost over and I shut down Arien's panel.
<"There is always a huge lunch rush that's why we are getting ready now. Second half of class begins at two and goes till four, after that I'll take you to Balamb."> she looks at me and nods. As soon as the bell rings everyone rushes to shut off their panels and bolt out the door. Arien and I get caught in the hall for the elevator and have to wait in line. Arien looks at me and I smirk casting float on us. I grab her arm and leap over the side and free fall before slowing in mid-air and landing safely down below the rest of the people. I here shouts and yells above us as Rajin and Fujin follow mine and Arien's example. I keep hold of her arm and bolt into the cafeteria. When we arrive she is laughing and smiling happily hanging on to my arm.
"Seifer! Hey! how'd you get down here so fast?" asks Zell, A.K.A. Chicken-wuss.
"Hey there Chicken-wuss. We jumped from upstairs and used a Float spell to land." I reply with a smirk as Arien snags a place in line.
"Is that her? Must be... She's nice... reminds me of Rinoa." he says looking at her. Suddenly I feel really pissed that he's looking at her and position my self between her and Zell.
"You see anything you want Arien?" I ask as she scans the menu with mild interest.
"I think I'll have a burger and some fries. I just have a sudden craving for a burger and fries." she responds happily. I protectively wrap my arms around her and kiss her neck lovingly.
I might as well be her boyfriend, it gives me a reason to be around her all the time, one that won't make people think I'm her Knight and she's my Sorceress. <"Wanna be my girlfriend?">
<"Umm, sure! I don't see why not."> she says softly in my mind.
"Woah! Seifer, what are you..."
"What? She's my girlfriend. Isn't that right?"
"Yeah so I don't see why your having such a cow over it." she say in the most people savvy voice. It's like she's dealt with giving people the brush off her whole life.

I think this is going to be fun.

Kuinnu: Oh ignore him Squall. I'm glad to have been introduced to the story! I'm gonna date Irvine, I'm gonna date Irvine.
Squall: Oh?
Seifer: She pre-ploted the story with Arien. They are dangerous...

Arien: *Groans in the middle of her nap.*
Seifer: Come on and untie me! I gotta wake her up and get to work or both of us will be late! If I'm late to my job cuz I'm with with her again I'm getting fired!!
