Chapter 3: Chocobo’s and Chris…
Melissa yawned as she walked off the boat, Amanda following, Livy know where to be found. “Where do you think she is?” Amanda asked quietly, Melissa turned to look at her, brushing a lose strand of almost ebony black hair out of her face. “God knows…Probably stalking the freaky dude.” She smirked. Turning to head back, she was surprised to see a male now standing in front of her. “Can I help you?” She growled, an eyebrow rose slightly as he continued to check her out from head to toe. He stepped back slightly. “sorry…” He looked up noticing Marjan. “Hey Bro!” He waved. Livy finally joined the two, as she glanced up noticing Marjan sighing and walking over to Chris. “Sup?” He asked. Marjan shrugged, nodding his head to Livy. "Cra'c bnaddo lida rir? Drehg crac kuddy drehk vun sa duu." He said smirking. Amanda burst out laughing, the two males looked at her, the tears of laughter streaming down her face. Livy looked appauled. "Dra tisseac eh drec fruma cediydeuh yna oui dfu! E ys YM PRAT... nadyntc." She scoffed before rolling her eyes and storming off. “Guess you should have watched what you said.” Melissa snapped, her slightly bitchy persona becoming quiet revealing. Marjan rubbed the back of his head in confusion. “I thought she was pretty hot though.” He muttered. Chris smirked. “I don’t know about you…but damn that girls fine.” He drooled continuing to watch Melissa walk off. Amanda bit her lip watching the two males gaze at the girls. “This is getting gross now…” She cursed under her breath before running after them.
“Ah, Marjan, good to see you’ve already met my daughter.” Cid, Livy’s father said smiling brightly. “Uhh yeah…” He said, shaking his hand, notcing the male opposite to him had quite a grip. "Umejey, lusa!" He hollered. Livy stalked walking, and rolled her eyes. “Dad! I have things I need to do! We are leaving as soon as Manda goes to the temple, I am not staying here! And I’m not marrying him!” She growled. Cid scratched his head and than looked at Marjan. "Tet oui dfu cdynd uvv uh dra fnuhk vuud?" He questioned, the thickness of his words lingering in the air, the Al Bhed accent was thick. "Hu ra'c yh eteud du hud yccisa dryd E luimth'd cbayg Ym Prat...E ys rec tyikrdan cu fryd tuac dryd damm oui?" She interrogated pointing to her father. “That your Al Bhed…” Marjan replied now looking at the ground. “Good for you, such a smart boy.” she said sarcastically patting his head. “I’m not a dog.” he said softly pushing her hand away. “Oh I beg to differ.” she retorted back. He sighed. “Whatever.” He replied before walking off.
“Um Marjan… Where’s djose temple?” Amanda asked quietly, he looked at her noticing that she was quite high on the meter. “A summoner are we huh?” He said smirking. Chris smiled. “ And a black mage and an Al Bhed as your guardians… quite an interesting combo don’t you think?” He laughed, Melissa looked at him sarcastically before slapping him in the back of the head. “Idiot.” She muttered. “Ow.” He said sadly rubbing the back of his head in a playful manner. “Never mind, I’ll find it myself.” She replied. “I don’t really need you and Livy to come with me, so why don’t you go check in at the inn and I’ll meet up with you guys later.” She replied before walking off.
The girls mouths dropped, they didn’t dare follow. Melissa glanced at Chris slightly, the heavy black trench coat caressed his shoulders, his hair was completely spiked, his eyes hidden by sunglasses, the scar over his eye hidden behind the sunglasses, the X shaped scar on the right side of his cheek. She smiled slightly, she couldn’t help but admit she liked what she saw. “You guys hungry?” Marjan asked scratching the back of his head, the two looked at each other and nodded.
As they entered the tiny little restaurant, the two males had ordered almost anything that looked good enough to eat, while the two girls ate salads quietly. Having a conversation with there eyes. Finally Livy spoke up. “Why do you think she didn’t want us to go with her?” she asked, swallowing a piece of caser salad. Melissa shrugged. “I really…don’t know…” She said softly. And than it occurred to the two. “The statue…LORD BRASKA!” they hollered at each other before pushing off the bench and running out of the restaurant, the males looked at each other. “Hey Amelia leave this on the tab.” Chris said to the waitress the burger in his mouth as he ran out of the restaurant, chasing after Marjan who was already following the girls.
“What does Lord Braska have anything to do with this?” Marjan panted trying to keep up with the black mage and al Bhed. “Lord Braska is her father,” Livy replied. Chris’ eyes widened slightly. “Than she’s got quite a name to live up to doesn’t she?” Chris replied, now ahead of them all. “Yeah…but the thing is she hates her father, and maybe I shouldn’t be telling you guys this, but, she truly does despise him, we don’t even really know why, she doesn’t really like talking about it.” Melissa said with a sigh, approaching the temple when a woman riding a chocobo pulled them over. “Where do you think your going?” she asked, hopping off of the chocobo and blocking the temple’s entrance. “Our friend is in there.” Livy said. The woman shook her head. “I’m sorry I can’t allow you in there while a summoner communicating with the fayth.” she said softly. “But we are her GUARDIANS!” Livy snapped back. “I understand but-” She was cut off. “Stephanie it’s okay, these two are indeed her guardians.” Marjan said finally meeting up with the 3. “Oh Lord Marjan, I didn’t see you there, forgive me.” she said bowing down. “Get up.” he replied. She did as she was told. “We’ll wait out here, we wouldn’t her to suffer the consequences.” He said lightly to them. Chris nodded his head, Melissa smiled slightly to him. “Okay.” They opened the door and it slammed shut behind them.
“You realize we could be waiting out here for days.” Chris muttered sitting on the ground. Marjan looked up at the star that caught his eye. “I know…but I have this funny feeling that we’re going to be around them for a very long time.”
