Chapter 1: Save Me


(9-1-1 DISPATCHER)

"9-1-1 What is your emergency?"
" Oh my God theres so much blood?!"
"Sir, can you tell me whats going on are you hurt? Can you tell me your name?"
" My name..My name is Squall... My boyfriend is hurt he is bleeding everywhere...He isnt responding.."
"Ok sir, can you tell me where the bleeding is comeing from?"
"His mouth, his chest I think he has been shot four times in the chest and abdomen... He has several lasscerations across his upper abdomen, lower abdomen, above his pubic mound, on his inner thighs and I think possibly his rectum.. I havent opened his legs to see...I think he has been raped as well...Oh Gods please help him! He is vomitting blood... He has lasscerations on the back and sides of his head and several bruises forming.. He stopped breathing..."
"Ok Squall listen to me, stay calm. It sounds to me you have some medical training is that right?"
" Yes ma'am I am a medic in the navy. I just got back from Annapolis. I am beginning CPR.. OH GOD! I think his lungs have colapsed!!!"
"Ok Squall listen carefully. I am going to transfer you to the hospital Field Trauma so they can assist you untill the ambulance arrives ok?"
"OK Just hurry please I am loosing him..."
"Field Trauma: Surgery department, Dr. Kinneas speakin'"
"Dr Kinneas, this is Charollette with 9-1-1 Dispatch I have a man on the line who has a patient with multiple gun shot wounds, lasscerations, possible collapsed lungs and rectal bleeding. He is a trained field medic but needs assistance opening the lungs back up to get the patient breathing.. His name is Squall."
"OK put him.."
"Squall are you still there?"
:"Yes Ma'am, please you gotta help me.. His eyes just rolled back into his head but before that his eyes were fixed and dialated.."
"Alright Squall my name is Dr Kinneas and I am gonna help you out. First how and where is he lying?"
"Flat on his back on the floor.. I had attempted CPR when I discovered pinkesh foam coming from his mouth and a stab wound through both sides of his thoracic cavity.."
"Ok I want you to take two fingers from your domminate hand and put it into the closest stab wound and tell me how deep it is and where it is located.."
"Alright starting on the patients right the stab wound is located an inch and a half to two inches below the right nipple and about three inches to the left.. I can feel lung tissue and it feels as if there is a small tear in the linning about three cm long two cm wide,..."
"Ok thats good... Do you have any kind of tubing or something like it that you can put into the whole.. Something that will help close it off but still allow his lumg to fill up?"
"I havt a full medical supply closet what size should I use?"
"Good deal, alright use a 1 1/2 cm tube cut on angle at about three inches in length. Insert it carefully into the whole and lung and using liquid stitches if you have it if not super glue will work close off the lung tissue so that the air does not escape..let me know when your done."
[Seifer don't you dare die on me! I cant loose you now..]
"Alright its done.."
"Ok repeat the process on the opposite side and tell me the numbers as you work."
"The stab wound on the left is the same as the right do I proceed to repeat the process?"
"Yes. Let me know when you have completed.."
[Damnit dont die on me! You just told me you loved me!]
"Ok it finnished. Should I close off the tubing?"
"If you have something to clamp it shut with that would be best that way we can open it quickly if need be.."
"Ok I have them clamped off..."
"Ok good job. Is he breathing now?"
"Yes but just barely I think his trachea is crushed I see a faint shoe print sized bruise on his neck.."
"Ok you may have to perform a tracheotomy. Have you ever done it before?"
"Yes but this isnt exactly a sterile enviroment doc...I have to get my surgical kit..."
:Dont worry about sterilization right now Squall, just use gloves and clean the site with alchol before cutting and you should be fine. Go ahead and do it then tell me when your done.."
[Damnit where the hell is that ambulance. Just hang in there baby.. I promise you will be in my arms soon.. ]
"Alright I got his airway opened up and he is breathing rapidly but its begining to stable out.."
"Ok thats a good sign.. Ok looking at all his wounds can you tell me which ones are bleeding the most..."
: He has six lasscerations across his lower abdomen and along his inner thighs as well as severe bleeding from the rectum.. Where should I start?"
"OK this is going to probably sound horrible but you need to find something to hold opn his rectum to check for major inuries.. Is there a possability he was raped?"
"Yes I can tell he was there is semin leaking out as well..."
" Ok get something to contain the semin and then cap it and set it aside, They will need it for the rape kit. Once you have done this begin preparations for opening up his rectum. Do you have anything to cauterize minor cuts or tears?"
" Yes actually I have heat sticks.. Ok I collected the semin and have used speculum to open him up... OM MY GOD! His diaphram has been ruptured... HIS INTESTINES ARE SLIPPING OUT!! DOC YOU GOTTA HELP HIM!!"
"Ok Squall calm down there was a wreck on the bridge the ambulance cant get to you right now... Where are you located?"
"Oak Towne Apartment Square... "

"Yes there is a helipad on the roof.Why?"
"Cuz I just sent out the calvary. MedHeli is on its way to you should be landing in about five minutes what apartment are you in..."
"Pent house whole top floor with elevator access to helipad..PLease tell them to hurry"

"Was that the patient? Whats his name...?"
"Almasy, Seifer Almasy.."

**KNOCKING ON THE DOOR**

"MedHeli Pilot and Medic Reno Coronetti Im comin in, hollar so I can find ya!"
:IN THE BEDROOM STRAIGHT BACK TO THE RIGHT!"
"Ok Squall it sounds like Reno is there am I right..."
"Damn skippy cowboy! I got Reeve with me too so he can take over from here.. Damn thats alot of blood yo!"

I stood back and watched as the bagged him put in IV's for fluids and blood... Reeve took over... My mind shut down..

"Squall? Can you hear me?"
"Yeah sorry what was the question?"
"Ever been in a whirly bird before?"
"Yes Im a certified pilot and machanic why?"
"Perfect because I need a copilot and thats the only way you can ride out with us.."
