Flame Of Recca Fan Fiction ❯ Unexpected ❯ The Conversation ( Chapter 5 )
Chapter 5- The Conversation
(Koganei's POV)
After Tokiya-san had hurriedly kicked everybody out of his house, the house was once again enveloped in silence. I for once was suddenly struck with uneasiness as I realized Tokiya-san and I were alone. He was not exactly the kind of person you would want to have a friendly conversation with. But who knows? Maybe I can actually have a decent conversation without being glared at.
"Say, Tokiya-san, thanks again for letting me stay over." I gave him a smile. Hoping it would cover my uneasiness.
The older boy whose only focus to was to get rid of his unexpected guests, was surprised there was still someone there. He blinked and focused his eyes onto the boy who he seemed to have completely forgotten about. Oh great, how I could forget, the kid who's responsible for all my suffering. He stared at the boy who was now sitting uncomfortably on his sofa. Wondering why he was acting the way he did, he inwardly shrugged and simply assumed it was because him. Good then, he realizes I'm not one to be easily messed with. He shouldn't be comfortable especially when staying with me.
The older boy then sat down on the other end of the sofa with a grace that only a powerful ensui wielder could possess. Facing Koganei, he continued to analyze the troubled younger boy with interest.
Once again, those cold eyes were scrutinizing Koganei, which was what Koganei was exactly trying to avoid. Darn what is with him and his eyes. Well, I'm not going to let him ruffle my feathers just because he looks at me like that.
"Uh, Tokiya-san you're freaking me out, why are you staring at me like that?" he asked innocently. However, his eyes began to widen as he saw the other boy chuckle.
"You don't think I would fall for your innocent cover, did you? I'm not like the other monkeys. I know your hiding something."
Damn, he's good. I guess he's the same as always. When we had that fight at Kurei's mansion, I was surprised there was someone like him. I knew I shouldn't have let Recca and the others go by me, but I couldn't help it. It was so hard to find someone to fight with who was worthy enough. Tokiya-san proved to be that worthy and strong opponent. I was afraid I was gonna lose, but luckily I was able to get out just in time. Thinking back of how I childishly got away, I laughed out loud much to my embarrassment.
Tokiya-san raised one of his eyebrows.
"You're the same as always Tokiya-san. You haven't changed a bit. Well not that much anyway," I smiled again but this time I felt myself blushing because I made a big idiot of myself laughing like that.
Hmm…telling him I knew he was hiding something, the least I expected was for him to be serious not laugh about it. Now he's blushing, I wonder why. He looks…well pink. Well whatever it is, it's amusing.
"There's no reason for me to change. But I can't say the same for you. You've changed."
"Um…" I began to squirm from discomfort again. "Hehe, I guess I have, never thought 'bout it really."
To change the subject I asked him, "So, how have you been doing? It must've been fun hanging out with Recca-nichan and the others huh?"
Knowing the boy was trying to change the subject, he decided to let it go. Not that I care anyway. It's none of my business. With that Tokiya's face was suddenly overcome with disgust and immediately replied, "Not even close. I swear they've made my life more unbearable than it already is." But one can see he was somewhat joking and that he wasn't serious.
I smirked and knew fully well what he meant. Recca-nichan and the others are a crazy group. They can be awfully more than one can handle, but we all love them because of that. With that thought, I suddenly felt myself sadden. Yeah that's why I left didn't I? I couldn't stay with them. Why would they want a guy like me around them anyway. I don't belong here. I am of no use…like Kurei said.
Tokiya then noticed Koganei's smirk fall off and an expression of sadness was revealed. Was it something I said? I don't know what's going on, but enough with the talk. Why am I wasting my time talking to this brat. I have my own problems to deal with. I don't need to have another person come to me with his troubles. I have more than enough to deal with.
With that he suddenly stood up, his cold face already back on, he turned to the boy. "If you need anything, I'll be in my room." And he left the boy on the sofa and walked to his room.
The cold voice pierced me away from my thoughts and I looked up in surprise. When did Tokiya-san change to Mr. Iceman all of a sudden? Who am I kidding? This is Tokiya-san we're talking about, I was lucky enough to see him talk at all. I watched him leave. His long hair swishing behind him. I don't know why but seeing him leave made me feel a little disappointed. Well, who cares anyway? I bet he hates having me here. And at that moment I saw myself facing Raiha-chan.
/Flashback/
"Kurei-san is still wants you dead. I suggest you to stay with Recca-san and the others. They will keep you safe," said the blue-haired ninja.
How Raiha had found me is still a mystery. He always did pop up where you least expected. It's been two months since I left the Hokage gang. Though I wasn't living on the best of standards, at least no one else is taking advantage of me. I'm my own person. I don't need anybody else.
My eyes widened in shock. "Why? Why can't he leave me the hell alone for once, damn it!"
Raiha's eyes softened with sadness as he witnessed the young boy in front him scream. Kurei-san had officially ordered him and the others to be on the look out for Kaoru Koganei after finding out the boy had left the Hokage team. Kurei still carried around with him the hatred caused by Kurenai's death. However, his fight with Recca-san has opened his eyes a little. He still believes he is alone, but in time he will realize that me and Neon-san will be there for him. In the meantime he wants to punish all that had went against him. And sadly enough Koganei is one of them.
"Heed my advice and don't wonder alone anymore. I do not desire to hurt you, but there are others who will not be so kind. They will kill you without hesitation."
Damn…he lied to me and screwed up my entire life. And he still wants me dead. Well go ahead, I would like to see him try. With hatred boiling inside me and a new strong determination I looked up at Raiha-chan.
"I don't care if he wants me dead. I'll go wherever I want. If he wants me dead, I would like to see him try and face me. I'm not hiding anymore." With that I left into the darkness, leaving the ninja behind. That was the last time I saw him. Deep inside I knew I should've listened to him. But I was too stubborn, and because of that, I had to pay.
/End Flashback/
Shaking myself from any further thoughts of the past, I got up and slowly walked to my room. My hands were trembling from the flashback. Enough, I will not think about it anymore. As I was about to reach towards my door, I noticed that Tokiya's door was slightly left ajar. A little voice inside of me cried out that this was wrong but curiosity got the better of me. I quietly crept up to his door and pushed it open.
