Chapter 3: Saving Tohru and Kagome's Home

Kagome opened a portal to the edge of the dirt path to the Sohma household where Tohru lived. She distinctly heard a high pitched scream that definitely sounded like Tohru. Kagome's heart stopped for a second before she dashed towards the sound….'Tohru…Please let me get there in time.' Kagome thought.

Koenma up at Reikai had brought up what was happening on the screen in his office for the other's to see. What they saw shocked them just as much if not more so then it did Kagome.

Kagome could barely breathe the betrayal she felt was so strong, so…overwhelming…Inuyasha…Sesshoumaru's half-brother and an old childhood friend. She was sure that Sesshoumaru back in Reikai was just as shocked and disappointed in Inuyasha as she was.

"Nothing personal you know, just that if this will hurt Kagome then that's all I want…You see Kikyo doesn't like Kagome, that means I don't like Kagome…And hey the only way to get Kikyo as my girl is to pass approval by her brother Naraku…So wench you have to die." Inuyasha stated cruelly while gripping Tohru's neck so that she couldn't breathe. He had tied down the other Sohma's; there were new ones there now Kagome noticed vaguely before she was consumed with rage.

When Kagome's in a rage it's never a pretty thing, she's unstoppable, she knew that consciously and forced her anger back making sure to retain control. She didn't want to take more lives then necessary. She sensed two more of Naraku's minor henchman lurking nearby and she decided to kill Inuyasha nice and quick. Though Kami knew she wanted to torture him endlessly.

"I don't think so…" Kagome said coldly in answer to what Inuyasha said and sent a beam of black magic at the hanyou blowing him through the wall into the surrounding foliage. Now she had to make a choice go and make sure the bastards dead or take care of Tohru…No contest there.

"Tohru are you alright?" Kagome asked her voice softer, kinder.

"I'll be fine…Kagome!!! Watch out! "Tohru gasped out as Inuyasha came back with his sword drawn. Kagome drew her sword in an answering movement and blocked his attack. She leaped high into the air and came back down with her blade in an arc sending powerful waves of pure magic at him hoping to purify his demon blood.

Inuyasha dodged just in time and Kagome used her whip for attacking him. The whip left deep, bloody gashes on his body. In a last attempt to harm her he sent his `Blades of Blood' attack towards Tohru. Tohru was frozen in the spot with the Sohma's yelling at her to move. Kagome read his intent ahead and managed to shield Tohru's body with her own. Inuyasha and the two henchmen disappeared into a portal provided by Naraku.

"Tohru?" Kagome asked her voice slightly strained.

"Kagome!!! Are you alright? Oh Please be alright!!!! I'm so sorry if I had moved in time then none of this would have happened."

"Shut…Up…" Kagome rasped, "It's not your damn fault Tohru…"

The Sohma's who previously were restrained were now coming to Tohru's side. Kagome noticed the other 3 kids, 1 teenager and 3 adults. She eyed all of them warily with blood trickling slowly from the side of her head, her vision slightly spinning. She let the power flow through her veins and was encompassed in a bright pink light as Sesshoumaru and the other's arrived on the scene.

"Kagome!!!" Yusuke called out.

"She's healing herself." Sesshoumaru answered.

When the light died down she was devoid of any wounds. She walked up to Tohru and with one flick of her wrists all of her bruises and minor injuries were healed; she beamed up at her sister. Kagome nodded in satisfaction before turning her attention to the Sohma's not trusting them at all.

Kagomes Pov

"Oh…I forgot to introduce you…This is Yuki, Kyo, Momiji, Haru, Kisa, Hiro, Kagura, Hatori, Shigure, Ayame, Ritsu, Kureno and Akito-sama." Tohru said gesturing to each person. I glanced at the new ones…Kisa, Hiro, Kagura, Ritsu, Kureno and Akito. I sensed no hostility from them…At present.

Akito had dark hair and even darker eyes. Kureno was a quiet subdued person that I just knew would be trouble if he really wanted to be. Ritsu seemed to be quite…Shy for lack of better word and um…well…feminine. Kisa and Hiro were just children cute children. Kagura seemed to have a nasty temper and got very violent.

End of Kagome's Pov

While Kagome was examining the newcomers with a critical eye she was unaware of the Sohma's assessing her. She suddenly whipped her head around towards the sky and cursed fluently under her breath. She leaped into the air and slashed at something behind the clouds. As it fell to the earth the other's identified what it was Kagome killed…A spy, probably for Naraku considering the small spider insignia he wore around his neck.

Kagome flipped the dead man over and examined his face. It was that of a young man. He had not yet gone through the hard trials that life had to offer. His skin was baby soft and his eyes were a jade green and silky brown hair. Kagome was so shocked; Naraku didn't usually use such innocent people. Kagome was filled with a sense of guilt that she hadn't felt in a while.

Sesshoumaru's Pov

I watched with the Spirit Detectives and the others as Kagome placed her hands on the boy's body. She ripped off the insignia and placed her left hand over his heart and the other above his head. We watched as she summoned her power to bring him back to life. I wondered to myself what possessed My Kagome to bring him back to life.

"I, Kagome, Guardian of the Shikon No Tama, Controller of the Elements, Mistress of Magic and Queen of the Damned, call to the spirit's above bring back this boy's life, that I had wrongly taken in a misconception he was one of Naraku's minion's. Please Kami's above hear my plea and return life to this boy." Kagome pleaded softly.

With her whispered words a light filled the clearing and into the boy through Kagome's capable fingers. She fed the boy life through her fingers from the Kami's and her own power. `She's still weak so she couldn't bring him back by herself.' I thought to myself.

End of Sesshoumaru's Pov.

Everyone watched intently as the light faded and Kagome collapsed over the boy's now breathing body. Sesshoumaru rushed to her side and gently cradled her body close to his.

"Kagome you idiot…You weren't at full power…C'mon I'll show you to Kagome's house where we can wait for her to awaken." Sesshoumaru said to himself and then to the rest of the people gathered there.

He quickly created a portal to Kagome's home. The Sohma's followed cautiously after Tohru and the Spirit Detectives. Sesshoumaru and an awakening Kagome were the last to go through the portal before it closed.

They all found themselves in Kagome's spacious living room, the furniture was a mix of crème colors and whites. There was a big pile of pillows in front of the fireplace as if to make it more comfortable. The Sohma's sat down on the couches there while the spirit detectives just stood around. Kagome groaned as she rubbed her eyes. She opened her beautiful cerulean orbs only to stare into a pair of concerned brown ones. She did what any `normal' disconcerted person would do…she punched them.

Koenma not expecting it went flying to the wall on the opposite side of the room. Now everyone was openly staring at Kagome as she attempted to regain some sort of dignity. She stood and silently walked up to Tohru who just stood there staring in a silent wonder at her elder-sister. Kagome's hand gently traced the contours of her baby sisters face as if to memorize it. When she cupped her cheek Tohru leaned into her touch as if needing the touch that only Kagome had to offer.

Kagome smiled…It was a sad smile that told of much pain and sorrow, of very little happiness in her life.

"Are you alright Tohru?" Kagome asked softly, scared of scaring the girl.

"I'm Fine Kagome-neesan, are you alright?" Tohru asked anxious to see if her sister was alright.

"I'm Fine Tohru-chan." Kagome said fondly to the younger girl.

"Please make yourselves at home." Kagome said to the Sohma's and the Spirit Detectives that were gathered there. She pointedly ignored the boy that she had brought back to life until he stood directly in front of her. Kagome's eyebrow rose a notch in question.

"Yes?"

"T-Thank You…"

"For…?" She inquired.

"For bringing me back to life…for giving me a second chance to live without Naraku controlling me…I'm eternally grateful." The young green-eyed, brown haired man said.

"You're welcome…What is your name?" Kagome's eyes soft now.

"My name is Ryu, Ryu Kyoteru. " He said with a shy blush.

Kagome smirked.

"The name's Kagome."

"Shinya will show you to your room." Kagome said while gesturing to the handsome man now standing to her left.

Shinya had platinum blonde hair in a high ponytail. His hair fell in a wave to his ankles. His eyes were a startling scarlet that seemed to penetrate a person's soul, one could get lost in his eyes if they let themselves.

"Uh…My room?" Ryu asked quite confused with the entire situation but nonetheless attracted to the beautiful woman that both killed him and brought him back to life.

"Yes…I am to assume that you will be staying here. I know that Naraku would not have kept your family alive and you had nowhere else to go otherwise you would not still be here. Or am I wrong?" Kagome asked.

"No…You're right…I have no family anymore…they were, killed when I was 15 by one of Naraku's creations. I have nowhere to go either my home was destroyed in the attack." He said his voice laced with pain.

"He has been controlling me for…6 almost 7 years." He said, "I have no idea of what I have done in that time…" he trailed off.

Kagome knowing what he must be picturing and thinking intervened quickly.

"Ryu," Kagome said gently, "There is nothing that you could have done, you had no conscious thought that was your own, no nothing…Naraku did what he did you for one out of four reasons…One, you were to strong for your own good and you posed a threat to him. Two, You were against him and turned him down, pissed him off and he hit you at a weak moment for revenge. Three, you're a greedy sonovabitch looking for lots of power and money and he took advantage of you when you `agreed' to team up with him. Four, he was bored and you were an amusing `thing' to play with for the time being." Kagome paused, "He's a sadistic, cowardly bastard like that you know."

Ryu cocked his head to the side taking in what Kagome said before nodding a bit irked. He looked into her deep blue eyes and all he saw was a careful blankness. `I wonder,' he thought, `what made her eyes so cold, so guarded, so blank, it's almost as if she is not really alive anymore, was she hurt as I was or worse?'

"Shinya, please escort Ryu to the room he will be staying in and help him with his needs." Kagome said to the still silent man on her left. He bowed and gently kissed Kagome's check in relief that she was alright. Kagome's eyes glimmered with softness towards him and she rubbed her check against his in reassurance.

He beamed, then proceeded to show Ryu to his room. Kagome watched as Ryu and Shinya with his bouncing ponytail retreated from the room and she sighed.

"Are the rest of you going to stay here for the night as well or should I prepare a car for your return home?" Kagome inquired.

"We shall stay." They all chorused.

Kagome summoned another male servant named Jigoku and asked him to show them to the eastern guest wing and allow them to choose the room in which they wished to reside in for there stay. `Them' being the Sohma's and Spirit Detectives as well as Botan and Koenma, the entire east wing was bigger than the Sohma Main House. They picked there rooms and settled down to think about the recent events and in some cases explore.

~*~Tohru's Pov

My sister's the greatest, I only wish that we both could have stayed together instead of separating like we did. Her eyes are just like they were back when we were younger, so cool, composed…So closed off and blank. I can hardly remember a time when her eyes showed emotions like happiness. I remember quite clearly the bitterness that showed in her eyes.

`Will you ever be the same nee-san…I know mama wasn't there when you needed her yet you never let her hold any of the blame so why do I feel so guilty as if I've taken something from you?' I thought to myself, `please let you find happiness, the happiness that Kami-sama knows that you deserve.'

~*~Kurama's Pov

Her eyes were so tender when they looked at Shinya, it's almost as if the blankness disappears just for him. I wonder why. Why doesn't she look at anyone else like that? Does she love him? What kind of relationship do Shinya and Kagome have?

Her house is magnificent like just about everything I've seen about her so far. `Youko?' I thought to the kitsune soul residing in my body. ~Yes red head?~ came the oh so intelligent reply. `What do you think about Kagome?' I asked. ~I think that she is gorgeous, smart, a good fighter, rich, perfect for us and…lonely.~ Youko said quietly. `Wow…that was actually an insightful view coming from you' I thought back to my counterpart.

~Something has troubled her in the past, something had happened to her that was so terrible that she puts those automatic shields in place.~ Youko told me through our link. `What do you think it was?' I asked my curiosity sparked. ~I do not know but I have every intention of finding out.~ Youko stated. ~We have found an interesting not to mention beautiful puzzle, I am not about to leave it alone.~

~*~Hiei's Pov

The onna is an interesting development, it seems that the fox has taken a liking to her as well as Yusuke. I do wonder if she will be another pain in the ass like the other two imbecile's. Though Yusuke does prove to be useful unlike that annoying monkey.

~*~Yusuke's Pov

Kagome's the prettiest girl that I have ever seen, there is no doubt on that. Even prettier then Keiko was, but that could just be the bitterness from the break up…I can't believe that Keiko made me choose and when I couldn't choose between her and my job she just left. Anyway…I wonder, just how powerful she is, it looked like she could have done a lot more damage had she wished it. I want to try and spar with her one time, it'll definitely be a challenging experience. I want her to look at me the way she looked at that one Shinya guy. I wonder why.

I shrugged putting the thought into the back of my mind for another time.

~*~Kuwabara's Pov

So that was Tohru's sister…She was quite striking, she however does not strike me as the save the day type of hero. She seems to be out to protect herself and those that she considers hers. She has an interesting type of power, I know for a fact that she is not human. Perhaps she and those friends of hers can help us and cure us.

~*~Shigure's Pov

Tohru-kun's sister is a babe!!! She is the sexiest thing that I have ever seen. Who would have thought my little flower would have such a powerful and strong not to mention sinfully sexy and rich sister. Tohru may pale in comparison but i know that one day my little flower will make some man very happy and not to mention well fed!!!

~*~Hatori's Pov

She is so cold…kind of like me. I thought to myself. I wonder what kind of past that Kagome-san has, it seems to me that she must have been hurt a lot or in different ways. I can't put a finger on it but something just doesn't click with her, almost like she should not be cold, that she wasn't supposed to turn out this way. But what do I know about her really…Lets see…I know her name is Kagome and she is Tohru-sans older sister. She is 20 almost 21 years old, She is extremely powerful, probably not human, exquisite marshal-artist and she is gorgeous…that doesn't tell me what I really need to know. Or rather what I really want to know.

She intrigues me for some reason…I really wish I could get to know her and understand her. I want to for some odd reason comfort her. I haven't wanted to do something like that since Kana. This is something to think about.

~*~Ayame's Pov

She would look absolutely magnificent in my creations!!! She has a beautiful body and those dark looks give her the look of a fallen angel! It would be Tre' Magnifique (Magnificent in French I think) to have her model my line. Though I do have to wonder how she made such good money. Not to mention how she came to be the way that she is today. There is no doubt some dark past full of sorrow and pain, possibly rage to. I wonder if Tohru-chan witnessed any of the things that made Kagome-san so cold.

~*~Yuki's Pov

Something is troubling me about Honda-san's sister…She doesn't seem to be normal like Tohru. It seems to me that she is leaving out quite a lot. I have a feeling that she isn't your every day assassin. It's almost as if she is afraid to tell us. I mean I could understand her not telling any of the Sohma's seeing as how she doesn't know us but would she not tell Honda-san? It is all terribly confusing.

~*~Kyo's Pov

Tohru's sister is a sly one and a really good fighter. Maybe she could teach me some of her moves and I'll finally be able to beat the damn rat! Kami knows how surprised Im sure all of us were when she used those…magic attacks or whatever they were. I couldn't have been more shocked if she turned into a boy and confessed her undying love for Shigure. It will definitely be a bit more interesting with her around.

~*~Haru's Pov

Hm…She seems almost like Hatori-san, detached. Not necessarily cold but more so detached. It is interesting. I would also like to see how she could beat both me and Kyo. I wish to learn more about this woman, she is an interesting puzzle that I would like to figure out.

~*~End Pov

The other Sohma's were just exploring or resting those doing so included Kagura, Momiji, Kisa, Hiro and Kureno. It would definitely prove to be interesting having all of those people over.

Kagome `looked' at them through her pool of water in her room and she smirked as Shinya came from the shadows and wrapped his arms around her waist in a protective gesture. Kagome turned and gently kissed him with tenderness and care as he groaned.

"It will be most amusing with them here." Shinya purred.

"Yes…I do believe it will be." Kagome whispered just as her fangs sank into Shinya's neck drawing blood and feeding her hunger…for the time.

A/n: Okay just so you know Shinya and Kagome are NOT mates. Kagome just feeds off of him. She is the `Queen of the Damned' in other words Vampire Queen…You'll find out how later. And Shinya is the equivalent to her `pomme de sang.' (Apple of Blood). It may be confusing now but it will become much clearer later on! Continue to Vote for your favorite pairing.
