`BEEP-BEEP-BEEP-BEEP-BE' Audie slammed her hand down onto her alarm. It was the start of the new school year and she wasn't looking forward to it. She sighed getting up lazily removing her warm blankets making herself shiver at the cold air hitting her body.

 

Padding over to her dresser she pulls out her school uniform (a/n- and for your information it looks exactly like Tohru's) and headed to the bathroom for a quick shower.

Kyo awoke to the smell of something very enticing. It was raining and he was surprised that he could even smell whatever it was he smelled. Kyo was now on his arm in bed looking out the window at the rain cursing it to the fiery depths of hell.

 

There was a soft knock on Kyo's door. Kyo turned to look at the door expecting the person to come right thru the door and then he'd yell at them for barging into his room. Neither happened but what did happen was the person on the other side of the door knocked again.

 

Kyo frustrated got up and yanked open the door startling the person on the other side. “W….what?” that didn't come out how he wanted it to but when it rains he's really out of it.

Audie had finished her shower earlier than she thought and nobody was up yet. She went down stairs to make breakfast for every one. Getting herself some milk and a slice of toast she set to work making the guys a nice breakfast.

 

Setting the last plate on the table Audie had made eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausages, waffles, toast, fruit and muffins. Dusting off her apron she went back into the kitchen for the juice, milk, and coffee.

 

Upon re-entering the dinning room she saw Shigure sitting at the head of the table with the newspaper glancing at the headlines. He looks up at her with a smile “Good Morning Audie” she smiled back at him setting the drinks onto the table. “Good Morning to you too, Shigure.”

 

Looking around she noticed that Kyo wasn't down here yet. Yuki was just making his way down the stairs with his eyes half shut. Upon entering the dinning room and seeing the table he looks at you “Good morning Audie, did you really make everything here?” she laughed at the look on his face “Yes why don't you come get something to eat before I go get Kyo up.”

 

Heading up stairs she still didn't hear any noise coming from Kyo's room. Knocking lightly on the door she waited to see if she could hear anything. Not hearing anything she knocked on the door again. This time Kyo yanked the door open “W….what?” you frowned Kyo wasn't acting like himself today.

 

“Um… Well I thought I would come up here and tell you that breakfast is ready downstairs if you want it.” Audie watched Kyo. Asking with her eyes if he was alright. Kyo being the person he is didn't notice and mumbled a `yea' and proceeded to yank the door back to its original state.

 

Confused at Kyo's actions Audie walked back down stairs with a frown on her face. Entering the dinning room Yuki noticed the scowl on Audie's face and sighed. “Don't worry the rain just really drains the energy from Kyo and makes him more annoying than he already is.”

 

“What…..wa-was……that you…rat?” Audie spun around and saw Kyo at the door to the dinning room his shirt was still unbuttoned showing his toned chest. Audie turned away from Kyo trying to hide the blush creeping it way up her cheeks. “Um….a-are you h-hungry Kyo?”

 

Kyo watched Audie turn away from him, he scowled and when she spoke she stuttered. “What the hell is……your problem?” Audie turned to look back at Kyo but saw that he had moved closer to her which made her blush even more but this time she didn't succeed in hiding it. Kyo looked down and saw that his shirt wasn't buttoned and showed his chest, he blushed and started buttoning his shirt.

 

After that little incident Audie couldn't look Kyo in the face with out blushing so she kept her head down as she ate some eggs. Kyo sitting across from her grabbed his plate and started loading food on to it.

 

~ I looked away

Then I look back at you

Kyo looked at her wondering why she wasn't looking at him when she talked to him but looking at everyone else when she talked to them. “What's wrong with you today?” Audie looked up at Kyo blushing “I-I…..d-don't k-k-know?”

Standing up and taking all the empty or dirty dishes into her hand she made her way to the kitchen. Finishing up washing all the dishes she re-entered the dinning room. “Well I think its time we get ready for school.” Yuki says standing up.

 

Audie nods and grabs her black coat and her bag. Going to the front of the house she slips on your loafers (a/n- loafers ugh I hate loafers but they look like the shoes Tohru wears.) she turns and waits for the boys to get ready, grabbing an umbrella in her hand she and the boys walk outside into the pouring rain.

 

~ Today's the day

I pray that we make it through~

 

Walking down the streets to her new school Audie and Yuki talk about gardening stuff (a/n- I'm not a gardener that's my mom so if I mention anything wrong about gardening I'm sorry and please tell me so I can fix it) since she lived on a farm she knew a thing or two about farming.

 

Kyo kept glancing over at her and Yuki walking and talking together he would have said something but the rain was just draining every last ounce of energy from his body and he could barely lift his feet.

 

~ Make it through the fall

Noticing Kyo's lack of energy Audie turned to look at him. He was barely lifting his feet and his eyes looked like they where about to close. Audie grabbed Kyo's arm, he turned to look at her with a scowl or at least she thought it was a scowl but he was so tired he could barely even scowl. “Kyo why don't you and I share my umbrella so you can rest your arm.” He snorted and shrugged her hand off of his arm. “I don't need to rest my arm.” Audie frowned and looked at Yuki who was just shaking his head.

 

Audie shrugged it off and kept on walking but she could feel something tugging at her mind. Entering school Audie put her umbrella away in her bag and turned to look at Yuki. “Um… Would you mind showing me where the office is?” he smiled at her. “It would be my pleasure.” Audie and Yuki made it to the office she received her schedule and she was assigned to room 3-D (a/n- Ok when they where first years they where in 1-D then when they where in their second year they where in 2-D so now that there in there third year well their in there third year in my story the room is 3-D)

 

Being in the same class as Yuki and Kyo Audie was less nervous of not knowing anyone or not fitting in. Walking into the class she saw Kyo sitting by the window looking like he was sleeping she looked around some more and saw a bunch of girls looking at her with evil glares. Audie turned to Yuki “Who are those girls?” Yuki sighed and gave her a smile. “Don't worry about them.” Audie shrugged.

 

“Class we have a new foreign exchange student from the United States please welcome Miss Smith to our class”. Audie smiled nervously as ever pair of eyes feel on her. “Please take your seat next to Kyo's.” Audie looked at Kyo but he looked like he never even heard. She frowned and plopped her stuff down on the desk next to his “Hey Kyo” he grunted.

Audie was now sitting in the lunch room with Yuki, Kyo, Arisa or Uo as she likes to be called and Saki or Hana as she's called. Audie really liked Uo and Hana they reminded her of her two best friends from the US. Trisha Yearling and Tina Moore they where Audie's only friends in Vermont; ever since she moved in with her Aunt and Uncle. Trisha was a kind hearted soul and it seemed like she could do no wrong, she protected Audie to an almost motherly level. She has dark blond hair that stops at her ears and sky blue eyes that sparkle with a joy for life. Tina is a little less protective of Audie she is a messy fun loving girl she can look at anyone and know there personalities instantly. She's a freelance artist with a millionaire father but hates the money and does everything with out the help of her father. She has dark chestnut hair that falls to her hips, bangs that hang slightly in her eyes, and brown eyes that always seem to be laughing.

 

With out her friends Audie probably wouldn't have made it through anything in her life. They where there for her when they found out of her deep secret and loved her anyways. Sitting with Uo and Hana reminded her of them and that's why she liked them so much she could tell that they held the same relationship that her friends held for her for Tohru.

 

Audie was talking about every thing from music to books but Kyo was just silently eating his food Audie found that very odd considering for the short period of time that she knew Kyo he was always talking but mostly yelling. It had stopped raining a while ago so that couldn't have been it. Leaning closer to Kyo but not touching him Audie asked “Kyo what's the matter?”

 

He jumped a little in his seat and looked up at her “Nothing.” He went back to picking at his food. Audie frowned something was definitely wrong Kyo is usually never this silent. “Something's wrong Kyo I can tell. Please tell me.”

“I'M FINE GOD DAMNIT LEAVE ME ALONG!” Kyo yelled standing up with his tray and dumping his trash in the trash can on his way out of the cafeteria. Audie sat there just stunned Kyo had never yelled like that at her before. “Carrot top can never control that temper of his.” Uo said not taking her eyes of her food as she ate. “I'm sorry Audie Kyo's just…..well Kyo's, Kyo.” Audie chuckled “Don't worry about it I know.”

 

Audie couldn't get her mind of Kyo `What the hell is the matter with him. He's never done something like that before?' picking at her food she sighed “I'm not to hungry any more I think I'm going to go head back to class.” She stood up and dumped her trash in the garbage and gave Hana, Uo, and Yuki one more wave before exiting the cafeteria.

 

“Kyo's been acting strange ever since Audie got here.” Yuki said looking at Uo then Hana. “Oh, Carrot tops got a crush!” Yuki looked a bit stunned at Uo's accusation “There's something different about that girl her waves tell me she's hiding something.” Uo and Yuki looked at Hana “What do you mean Hana?” Uo asked. Hana shrugged and went back to eating “I don't know but part of her heart seems to be hidden by this dark veil like she's hiding something. A dark secrect.”

“Ah….finally free.” School was finally over and Audie was in front of the school twirling around in circles making her dirty blonde hair and school skirt float around her.

“Come on you guys lets get home.” Audie waved goodbye to Uo and Hana and grabbed Yuki and Kyo's hands. Kyo blushed at the sudden contact with her but turned his head away from her so she couldn't see the slight blush creeping up his cheeks.

 

Arriving home Audie and the guys entered the house “SHIGURE! WHERE HOME!” Shigure poked his head out of his study “Well how was your first day of school? And Kyo why is your face so red are you coming down with a cold?” Shigure asked winking at Kyo as Audie turned to look at him. “You do look red.” Audie put her hand on Kyo's forehead. “Are you sick?” Kyo grabbed her wrist and pulled her hand off his forehead.

 

“No I'm fine.” With that he stormed off to his room. Audie frowned and turned to Shigure “Did I do something wrong?” Shigure chuckled at her “No, Kyo's just ….” “A stupid cat.” Yuki interrupted Shigure. “Not what I was going to say but that'll work.”

 

~You bring me back again

Back under the stars

Back into your arms~

 

“Oh yes Momiji and Haru are coming for a visit in a little bit.” Audie looked up at Shigure's office with a smile on your face “Momiji's coming!” Shigure chuckled “Yup anytime now.” Just as he finished saying that the front door opened AUDIE!” Audie turned and saw Momiji in the door way “Momiji!” when Momiji saw Audie he launched himself towards her but was held back by Kyo “What are you doing?” Momiji looked at Kyo “I was going to hug her.” He struggled to get away from Kyo “Oh no you don't.” Momiji stopped and started pouting “Why not you probably get to hug her all the time.” Kyo let go of Momiji's collar and looked appalled at the sentence Momiji had just uttered.

 

Now that he was free from Kyo's grip he launched himself again at Audie's self knocking him and her to the floor. There was a *POOF* and a bunch of smoke. When the smoke cleared there was a little bunny sitting in the center of Audie's stomach. “Momiji your sooooooooo cute.” Audie said hugging the bunny to her chest.

 

Audie let Momiji go and set him on the floor just as she did there was the all too familiar *POOF* and there stood Momiji naked. Audie turned her head away from Momiji as he changed back into his clothes.

 

“YOUR NOT SUPPOSE TO DO THAT MOMIJI!” Kyo yelled at Momiji making Momiji cry. “KYO!” Kyo stopped giving Momiji a nuggie and looked at Audie “Leave poor Momiji alone!” Audie slapped Kyo's hands away from Momiji and grabbed Momiji scowling at Kyo while Momiji smiled and stuck his tongue out at Kyo.

 

“And Momiji you can't just go around hugging people it's ok to do it at home as long as there aren't any guest's but don't do it in public. Please?” Audie asked. Momiji didn't want to disappoint her or make her sad so he agreed.

Kyo mumbling things under his breath went into the kitchen. Audie and Momiji laughed at him as he pouted and went back to his room with some milk. Yuki and Haru just watched the whole thing shaking there heads at Momiji's whining and Kyo's stubbornness. But they where very amazed at the way Audie handled the whole situation she acted like a mother toward Momiji and that's just what he need a mother. For the one he had lost.

 

Audie and Momiji could be heard in her room giggling telling silly stories and playing on her laptop. Yuki turned to look at Shigure “Does she seem like she's hiding something?” Shigure looked up from the newspaper he was reading, he frowned “Why would you ask a question like that Yuki?” Yuki sighed “Well Hana said she felt something different her like part of her heart had a dark veil hiding something.” Shigure laughed “Hana's always has been a little different. Don't worry I doubt it's anything important.”

 

Suddenly there was a stomping sound coming from the stairs Haru, Yuki, and Shigure all turned to look at the stairs. They saw Audie and Momiji come down the stairs, Audie in the lead and Momiji behind her, they were both running and laughing. Audie entered the living room where every one minus Kyo was sitting. She stopped in the door way making Momiji run into her from behind. Momiji poked his head out from around Audie to see what made her stop. Audie laughed “Sorry guys we where just having a little race to the kitchen. Momiji was going to help me with dinner. Wasn't that right Momiji.” Momiji nodded his head vigorously.

“Don't let us ruin your fun go on and do what you where going to do.” Shigure laughed and the others all nodded there heads in agreement. Audie smiled and took Momiji's hand and led him to the kitchen to make dinner. Shigure laughed some more “She acts like a little kid and a mother sometimes.” Yuki looked at Haru and they both smiled.

“Dinner's ready every one!” Audie said into the living room where three of the guys where still sitting. “Kyo dinner's ready.” Audie went back into the kitchen to help Momiji bring the food into the dinning room.

 

Shigure, Yuki, Haru, and Kyo where all sitting at the table while Audie and Momiji brought the food in. Setting down the plate she was holding she saw Kyo eying it, Audie sighed and chuckled a little “Don't worry Kyo there are no leeks of any kind in this. I know you hate them.” Kyo looked up at her “How'd you know?” Audie giggled “A little bunny told me.”

 

Audie sat down giving Momiji a wink that went un-noticed by Kyo but noticed by every one else. “Well don't just sit there dig in I've got plenty more.” Yuki, Haru, Momiji and Audie all took respectful amounts but Kyo and Shigure were shoveling food into there faces. Audie just laughed watching them.

After every one had there fill Audie got up grabbing hers and Momiji's plates. “Now its time to clean up.” Audie said under her breath. Yuki stood up with her and took the plates from her hand “No, No, let me do it you made dinner let me wash the dishes.” Audie smiled at Yuki “Thanks Yuki.”

 

Turning to Momiji Audie tickled his sides and chased him out of the dining room. Shigure laughed at your antics while Kyo scowling left the dining room heading for the roof. Haru went to help Yuki with the dishes.

 

“Hey Momiji want to watch some movies?” Audie asked the little German boy. He looked at her with his energetically happy brown eyes nodding his head yes. “Ok well here are all my movies...” Audie said pouring out all her movies onto her bed from a bag that had held them “…pick any you would want to watch.”

 

Audie watched Momiji sort through her movies, finally he found two that would satisfy him and held them up for Audie to see “White Chicks and Fear Dot Com ok a comedy and a horror good choice. Let's go.” Audie grabbed Momiji's free hand and lead him down to the living room. Audie entered seeing as no one was in the living room she shut off the lights sat Momiji down in front of the TV and ran to the kitchen to make tons of popcorn.

Setting down a big heaping bowl of popcorn onto the table in the living room Audie popped `White Chicks' into the VCR player. She sat on the couch Momiji jumping onto the couch next to her with the popcorn bowl in between the two.

Kyo yawns stretching his arms up over his head. Looking around he realizes he's a little hungry. Jumping of the roof landing silently on ground, the wet grass wetting his feet. Upon entering the house he sees Audie and Momiji on the couch sleeping. Momiji's head is in her lap, the bowl of popcorn is next to her and the TV is still playing Fear Dot Com.

 

~And I don't wanna fall to pieces
I just want to sit and stare at you
I don't want to talk about it~

 

Walking up to Audie and Momiji, Kyo gently places a blanket over her and Momiji. Taking the popcorn bowl and shutting off the movie he enters the kitchen. Stopping mid-step he looks down at his hand holding the popcorn bowl then out to the living at Audie and Momiji. `What the hell is wrong with me?' looking back at the popcorn bowl thinking to himself. `I'm going soft! I'm letting this...this GIRL to get to me.'

 

Walking back out into the living room he stops in front of Audie and Momiji and just stares. `Why do I get this feeling in the pit of my stomach every time I look at her? I never felt this way about anybody ANYBODY not even Tohru. So why her? Why her?' tearing his eyes away from her sleeping form he headed to his room to have a long en-depth conversation with himself about all these feelings running through is body.

I don't want to talk about it~

 

Audie felt something being laid across her body and the popcorn bowl being removed from her side. Hearing the `thing' walk into the kitchen she popped her eyes open as to not move her body and disturb the little boy beside you. Turning her head slightly she saw a blanket laid across Momiji's and her bodies. Turning her head around to face the kitchen she saw the light on and a shadow but nothing more to give her any idea of who it is.

 

Snapping her eyes closed upon hearing the sound of footsteps coming closer to Momiji and her `supposedly' sleeping bodies. Waiting to hear the sound of foots steps receding to some where in the house she listens and listens but the foot steps sound like they have stopped directly in front of her. `Ok this person is staring at me I can feel there eyes burning on mine. It feels like they are trying to read my brain. Gosh that would be creepy if someone could read another persons mind. What if they came across stuff like…Oh wait lets get back to this person standing in front of me. What do they want?'

 

~And I don't wanna fall to pieces

I don't want to talk about it~

 

Suddenly Audie realized while she was ranting and raving about mind readers the person started to move. Opening her eyes you saw the person disappear up the stairs. `Now that was creepy. Who was that? WAIT!' suddenly reeling back through her memory to when she saw the `mysterious' person disappear up. `ORANGE!' that is all that registered through her mind.

 

The `mysterious' person was none other than KYO! `Oh-Yeah I got it, it's Kyo. It's Kyo. STOP its KYO! I thought Kyo hated me when he yelled at me today at lunch.' Her eyes now looked like huge serving plates on a small little pea head. `It couldn't have been Kyo. It couldn't have. Could it? He's the only person I know with orange hair.'

All this thinking about if it was Kyo or not was starting to make Audie tired her eye lids started to drupe and finally reached there destination resting firmly against her cheeks.

Unbeknownst to all the people that lived in Shigure Sohma's home. Some one was silently watching Audie sleep from a tree outside. `It's almost the day Audie. It's almost the day and when that day comes you'll remember and I'll watch you break to a thousand pieces just you wait and see.' Suddenly they flitted away in the blink of an eye.
