Ch. 2

"Ah, why look at you, you look so tired… and beaten, did this man right here give you trouble?" The older young man asked pointing to Yuki. "You know you shouldn't talk to strangers, there are some real weirdo's out there, he could be one."

"If there were any weirdo's around over here, I'd say you are the number one weirdo."

"Aw…but I love you so much Yuki"

"You know when you say it like that, it sounds very weird" said Yuki moving away from his cousin"

Tohru stood there in shock and blushing. She couldn't understand what was going on. ` Yuki just said they were cousins, but that older man just said he loved Yuki, could they be?!'. "This is so confusing" she said spinning about in her head confusion running through her eyes like the hundred meter dash. ` He too also looks handsome, maybe they are related, I don't know…eh…@_@'.

"Oh I had forgotten to introduce myself, my name is Shigure Sohma, it's nice to meet you miss. And this is my cousin, Yuki Sohma."

"She already knows who I am, and this is Miss. Honda, she works here."

"Ah! It's a pleasure to meet you Mr. Sohma". She said bowing before the man with manner.

"Well Yuki, we must go, home is south, so it's best to leave now." Said Shigure turning around leaving his back on Tohru and Yuki.

"Fine, but don't come looking for me next time, I ran away to leave this family, not stay in it." He said getting up and turned to look at Tohru who had her eyes fixed on him blinking. "How much is the bill Miss. Honda?"

"Oh, um…five hundred yen"

"Alright", said Yuki and he pulled out a five hundred yen coin. " I enjoyed the meal, until then Miss. Honda." He said making a bow and turning to his cousin, but stopped and looked at him wondering why he was serious and stood still. "Is something the matter Shigure?"

" The wolves are howling, they say something has happened a mile west of here."

"A mile west of here? But that leads into a forest, what could possibly happen there."

"A mile west of here?! Oh no! I must go, mother!" Tohru said, dashing out of the restaurant with tears forming.

"…"

Both of the Sohmas turned to face where she had run. " Well I guess something her mother is in trouble Yu….ki…?" Shigure said blinking where his young cousin went too. " I guess he went to help the young Miss. Honda, be careful Yuki." He said smiling and waving. "I suppose I will see what's going on ^_^." He said, and walked out to his horse jumping on and began to follow the two.

"Miss. Honda! Miss. Honda! , Please tell me what's wrong" Yuki said dashing after her. But she did not answer him; she was too worried to get there in time to save her mother.

They had both finally made it to the chaos that was happening in the forest. "My…my home…mother!" She snapped out of it. Her house was being burned and she ran inside to get her mother out.

"Miss. Honda!" Yuki said running after her with all the speed he has, and got in front of her blocking her. "You can not go in Miss. Honda! It is too dangerous, you can die!"

"But...mom…" she said, before she passed out, falling to the ground worried and crying.

" You fiends who did this to Miss. Honda, show yourself!" Yuki yelled as two old men walked out from behind the bushes. One of the old men had his hair pulled back with a sash with small eyes and tall. The other one was a bit shorter and over weight, he had no hair and eyes not seen because they were closed. Yuki had pulled out his katana and got into his sword stance, watching the men with annoyance.

" Hey Ukon, look at this boy, he thinks he can fight us" Said the skinny tall one smirking pulling out his sword.

"He is an idiot to face us Koyo, he is no match." Said the fat one pulling out a knife.

They had both charged at Yuki with their weapons pointing it forward to stab him. Yuki had jumped out of the way and stared down at the men.

"Shigure! Get Miss. Honda out of here!" Yuki yelled.

"Already to it." Shigure hollered back to Yuki picking Tohru up carefully and dragging over to a tree for her to lean against, fanning her with a fan he had pulled out of his huge sleeve. "Be careful Yuki" Shigure said to himself watching over Tohru.

Koyo moved towards Yuki slashing his sword in n downwards-left angle, but Yuki parried it before the attack had sliced him. He then lunged back a bit and jumped into the air slicing downwards, but Koyo moved and blocked it slashing from the right. Ukon quickly noticed that Yuki was open and dashed towards Yuki planning to drive the knife in his ribs. Yuki noticed the surprise attack coming and jumped up doing a spinning heel kick, and then dropped to his guard. They both fell to the ground blood seeping from their mouths. "You, how dare you?!" Said Koyo getting up running over to Yuki punching madly at him. Yuki dodged every single one smirking then he flipped his sword in his hand and held to the hilt of his sword. Koyo straightened up and spin a ninety degree angle and did a side kick, but Yuki blocked it with his right arm and clenched on to the hilt of his sword tighter, then gave it a bit of a push upwards, jabbing it into the guys chin, then jumped back moving his arms together fluidly and then clasped his hands together driving and elbow with his left arm sending Koyo flying into a tree.

"What a waste, this was useless" Yuki said putting his katana back into its sheath, and raises his hands to his chest readjusting his yukata. "Shigure, get her out of her, bring her home with us."

"Okay Yuki, but you know what can happen, and besides, how do I know you will come back?" Shigure asked getting to his horse that he hid behind the bushes. Shigure carefully lifted Tohru on to the horse on the end and jumped on himself looking at Yuki.

"Of course I will go back, after all, I need get her stuff out and her mother, and I already know what can happen, but you need to look out yourself, she is with you now." Yuki said with his back on Shigure walking into the inflamed hut.

Shigure had held steady to the reins of the horse and galloped through the forest tracing his way back to his home. He finally made it and got off carefully taking Tohru down from the horse and opening his shoji door (explanation- shoji doors are very common in most animes, they are the screen doors made of paper, you see them as well in dojos and in some houses.) dragging Tohru into the entertainment quarters of the room, or the living room and had set a pallet on the floor placing a futon over it and placing Tohru on it tucking her in. He gets up and sits down in a chair next to her and watches over her.

`~Tohru's Dream~`

"Tohru, it's alright I am fine, you should just be worried about yourself. Now get some rest." Said a calm motherly voice.

"Yes mother…" Tohru said lightly replying.

`~End of Dream~`

"Yes mother…" Tohru said softly out loud in her sleep.

"She is dreaming, well at least today's events had ended, she must be very tired. I can't imagine." Shigure said watching over her smiling, supporting his head with his right arm resting on the arm of the chair. He then frowns a bit looking at the young lady before him. "She is not that bad looking…and she seems sweet." He got up from his chair and rested his left hand on her forehead stroking her hair back.

"What are you doing to her Shigure?!" said a voice out of nowhere and suddenly a pack was flown onto Shigure's head slamming down on him making him fall over.

"You know that hurts so much Yuki, why did you hit me? What do you have in that pack? T-T" he asked from the floor rubbing his head tears streaming from his eyes.
