A dark shadow cast upon an empty room. With a scowl on his face he turned to the window staring at the walking girl and barely holding back. She was taking to long to get there. She was trying to waste time. He was going to have to show her a thing or two. The sound of a door closing echoed through out the house which was quickly followed by the sound of footsteps getting closer and closer. A dangerous smirk came upon his face as the door slid open. Oh he was going to have fun this time.

“I'm Home!” Yelled a young Tohru Honda. She stepped out of her shoes before walking into the house and dropping her things tiredly.

 

“Welcome home!” Replied a fair boy by the name of Yuki Sohma. He looked up at her smiling. “Did you have a good time out with your friends?” He asked.

 

“Oh yes! We had lots of fun!” She said happily. “But now it's work time. I have to clean the kitchen and wash dishes before I cook and do the laundry.” She put on a determined face and marched into the kitchen ready. A strangely orange headed boy came down the stairs and looked at the retreating figure.

 

“She has way too much energy.” He said taking a bite of a pear he had been eating. Yuki looked at him before closing his eyes in annoyance.

 

“Reminds me of a certain cat.” He said calmly yet teasingly. The orange-headed boy's eyebrow ticked and he clenched his fist in front of him.

 

“You want a piece of me you damn rat!” He yelled. Yuki glared at him.

 

“Could you quiet down I'm trying to read.” He said. The orange head growled before he was interrupted.

 

“Tohru!” A whiny voice called before the figure came and hugged Tohru by her waist. “Yuki and Kyo are being noisy and I can't think for my new novel.” He complained.

 

“Oh I'm sorry Shigure.” Tohru said. The orange head named Kyo growled and pointed anrily at Shigure.

 

“You stop always whining to Tohru. And you,” he said pointing to Tohru now. “Stop always apologizing to him.”

 

“Um…yes!” Tohru said sharply. Shigure stood up right quickly and looked at Kyo.

 

“Kyo you know it's not nice yelling young ladies like that.” He said.

 

“You should talk!” Kyo yelled back.

 

“I'm going back into my study please keep the yelling to a minimum would you Kyo?” Shigure said before walking back into his study. Kyo growled and clenched his fist tighter. Yuki shook his head and took his plate into the kitchen for Tohru to wash. As he put his plate in the water something caught his eye.

 

“Miss Honda is that another bruise?” He asked politely poiting to the large bruise on her arm. Tohru quickly shot her head up and put on a big smile.

 

“Um yes, I…um…bumped into something hard walking home.” She lied. Yuki just stared at her, then at the bruise.

 

“We should really let Hatori look at it it looks pretty nasty.” He suggested. She gasped and quickly shook her head.

 

“N…no! I mean I'm fine there's no need to call him and worry him over nothing.” She said quickly. Yuki looked at her strangely before smiling. She was just to kind. But this time kindness was not about win. Nodding to her he slowly walked away to Shigure's study. Knocking on the door and opening it he walked in and closed the door silently behind him.

 

“She has another one? Is that why you came in here?” Shigure said without even looking up to see who it was. Yuki held his head down for a while before looking up angrily.

 

“Call Hatori.” He demanded.

Everyone was silenlt sitting in the room as Hatori checked Tohru's arm. She seemed to be fidgeting the whole time and nervously looking around as if someone would jump out and grab her any second. Yuki placed a hand on her shoulder and she turned around sharply.

 

“Calm down Miss Honda. Hatori's not going to hurt you.” He said softly. Tohru nodded and blushed embarrassed at her behavior. Yuki smiled before sitting back into his regular position.

 

“Well,” Hartori started. “Compared to the other ones I've seen this one's the worse. And how did you say you got it?” He asked Tohru for the third time.

 

“On my way home I bumped into something hard.” She explained. Hatori looked thoughtful for a second before looking at Shigure. Shigure nodded showing he understood and Hatori's attention was focused back on Tohru.

 

“Tohru bumping into walls or `Something hard' as you say cannot cause a bruise like this.” Hatori stated. Yuki and Kyo's eyes widened and stared in disbelief. She had been lying to them? Tohru's eyes widened again as she frantically looked for another answer.

 

“W…well, I…um...I ran into hard you…you know.” She stammered. Hatori looked at Shigure again who replied with a nod.

 

“Tohru I'm going to ask you again and I want to know the truth. How did you get this bruise?” He asked seriously. Tohru didn't know what to do for a second before finally she hung her head and cried. Yuki and Kyo jumped up and stared angrily at both Shigure and Hatori.

 

“Hatori stop!” Yuki said kneeling by Tohru. Kyo growled.

 

“What the hell is your problem?!” He yelled at Shigure. Both of them looked seriously at each other before looking at Yuki and Kyo who seemed slightly confused by the whole mess.

 

“Wait a asecond what's going on? What are you so serious about?” Kyo asked loking at the back and forth.

 

“Yuki, Kyo, I need a word with you both in the kitchen.” Hatori stated simply standing up.

 

But what about-“ Yuki started before being cut off.

 

“She will be ok.” Hatori said before walking into the kitchen with Shigure behind him. Yuki slowly stood up and followed them into the kitchen. Kyo did the same many seconds later. Tohru quietly laid her head on the table and silently cried to herself. They didn't know what they were in for.

They all stood there waiting for one or the other to speak before Shigure decided to break the silence.

 

“Yuki, Kyo, what I'm about to tell you now will come as a shock to you as it did me. But you must keep this quiet as possible and you must not try to help or take any action whatsoever. Do you understand?” He said carefully. Yuki nodded. Kyo narrowed his eyes.

“Will you get on with it?” He asked impatiently. Shigure sighed and placed a hand on his forehead not sure how to put his words.

 

“Tohru…has been going to the Sohma main house.” He explained. Yuki's eyes widened in surprise and calmed down for a second. That made higure a little courageous to go on.

 

“She's been lying to us starting a few weeks after we came from the summer house. Not for her benefit but for the sake of both of you.” He said.

 

“But why would she be going to the main house?” Yuki asked. Now here came the hard part.

 

“It was an order.” He said

 

“From who?!” Yuki and Kyo asked in unison. This time it was Hatori to answer.

 

“Akito.”
