At the Edge of the Lake
CHAPTER 6: Aftermath and Prelude: Into the Evening
Tohru changed into Hatori's shirt and started to unpack the boxes in the kitchen. Shigure and Hatori were smoking on the porch waiting out the storm that had begun while they were distracted by Tohru. Tohru. Even Shigure had been quiet, seemingly lost in his thoughts since their romp on the sofa.
"Shigure, how do you feel about Tohru?" Hatori's question hardly surprised him. Shigure had seen the love in Ha'ri's eyes as he'd asked how Tohru faired after their tryst. "Don't worry Ha'ri, she's all yours. I love her with all my heart but not the way you do. It seems that our little Tohru is quite taken with you as well." Hatori closed his eyes, sighed and accepted the answer. It was all more than he could truly hope for, but even if it only lasted for this week his heart would be lighter for it.
Tohru had busied herself in the kitchen, but it seemed to her that everything was taking a long time to finish. She'd caught herself spacing out several times in explicit fantasy. The feeling inside of her just wouldn't go away. Her cheeks were rosy with blushes that never faded.
At first Tohru had felt sated when Hatori was sitting so close to her in the aftermath of their passion, but now that she was alone again, she wanted to touch and be touched by those strong and gentle hands.
Finally the kitchen was ready to start dinner and all that she needed to know was what to make for everyone. "Hmmmm…" ***Where is everyone? We arrived here so quickly and we were almost the last to leave. I wonder if Uo and Kyo are alright? They probably had to stop and wait out the rain. I hope Yuki is finished with his council work, he said he'd be here in time for dinner and Aya and Saki should be here soon too? I wonder what kind of food I should make, I don't even know when to expect Kagura, Haru and Kisa? I should make something that can be easily reheated. After the long trip everyone will be tired.*** Tohru's thoughts were back on track since she felt at home in a kitchen that was clean and organized.
She left the kitchen and slipped onto the porch where her lovers seemed lost in thought. "Would either of you like anything special for dinner?" Tohru's blush darkened again when their eyes turned to her. She tried looking down and blushed worse when she saw that she was still only in Hatori's shirt. She started to fidget.
"Tohru, anything you want to make will be fine with us. Your cooking is always wonderful" Hatori tried to soothe her. Shigure of course couldn't help but make matters worse. "So true my soft and sweet flower! I can't think of anything else you could do for me that would be better than that snack we had after we arrived." He stopped as their noses touched.
Hatori jabbed him in the ribs and gave him <the> glare that would usually shut him up for a few minutes at least. Tohru's eyes glazed over in remembrance and she swayed for a moment before mumbling, "I'll just go start the rice and put a fresh pot of tea on…" as she turned to race back to the safety of her kitchen she ran straight into Aya.
*POOF* Tohru shrieked and fell to the floor as a calm white snake wound itself under her shirt and appeared again nestled between her breasts. Hatori reached down and pulled Aya from Tohru's curves and dropped him clothes and all, off the edge of the porch. "I'll assume that you'll have the sense to stay over there until you change back and can apologize to Tohru properly." Shigure had crumpled to the floor beside Tohru and was laughing so hard that tears flowed down his cheeks.
"But Ha'ri!" Aya was quick to explain, "I was just coming to greet all of you. I certainly meant no harm and from what I could tell Tohru is unharmed if a little warm to the touch. I made sure to check her over just to see that she was alright!" Hatori was past his limit on patience for his cousins and helped Tohru to her feet and escorted her inside without another word.
Shigure still crying, rolled over to his stomach and grinned at Aya over the edge of the porch. "I see that you're looking well enough Aya. I take it your trip to the lake was a pleasant one?" Sparkles floated between the man and the snake as they exchanged the details of their days.
There was another *POOF* and Aya was dressing again when Saki joined Shigure on the porch. She saw that Aya was not on the porch as she'd expected and kneeled next to Shigure to ask for an explanation. "Hatori was a bit taken back by the manner of Aya's arrival and tossed him overboard." Shigure was smiling as wickedly as Aya was at her and she looked back and forth between them and then joined them with a small smile of her own. The electrical waves emanating from the two men were intoxicating.
Tohru reappeared in the doorway with Hatori still hovering protectively. "There's tea if anyone would like some! Oh! And dinner will be ready shortly! I hope you're all hungry?" Tohru flashed Saki a welcoming smile. She was so glad that her friends got along with the Sohmas, she also wondered what they'd say if they found out what she'd done that afternoon with Shigure and Hatori. She turned to hide her fresh blush and ran back to the kitchen.
Shigure helped Saki to her feet and Aya walked around the house so that he could rejoin the fun. Everyone met up in the kitchen and were soon all talking and laughing while Tohru finished dinner preparations. Hatori and Saki helped her set the table and Shigure and Aya helped themselves to the sake.
"It's such a shame that no one else is here yet, but I'll bet the storm made the roads too dangerous and they had to wait till the weather cleared." Tohru began to serve the rice with her usual cheery smile and Shigure proposed a toast. "Shame on our friends who didn't arrive in time to celebrate our flower's fine cooking." He lifted his cup. "We are standing on the edge of the future, may we all enjoy it to the fullest!"
"Here! Here! So true Gure, it is a pity for them that they've left us with all of this wonderful food and companionship!" Aya winked at Saki, and Hatori inwardly groaned. ***This is going to be a very long night if I have to baby-sit these idiots the whole time! What are they thinking behaving this way in front of Tohru and Saki? Well I can't say that I'm any better as far as Tohru is concerned but do they have no common sense at all between them? No. That is the stupidest question I've ever asked myself. I know that they are only worse when they're together and have no sense to begin with when they are apart. Damn it!***
Tohru interrupted his thoughts, "Well everyone, dig in! There's plenty for seconds too!" Her smile was so bright that even Shigure and Aya paused their revelry to enjoy the meal in some semblance of order.
They all finished the meal without mishap and sat back to relax, Tohru was feeling herself responding to Hatori's closeness again. She began to fidget trying to find a comfortable position. Saki watched her friend from across the table and realized that she too was uncomfortable. It was however a pleasant sort of uncomfortable. The signals she was sensing from Tohru matched her own…
Saki took a look around at the rest of her companions and caught both Shigure and Aya watching her. She'd had some idea of what they were up to and let them see the desire that was building in her eyes. Since Shigure was right next to her, she shifted closer and sent him a wave of current that was sure to get his attention.
When he felt her not so gentle pulse, Shigure couldn't stop the small moan from escaping his lips. Tohru looked up and started at the sound. It was so familiar. When she saw the look he was sharing with Saki, she knew exactly where she'd heard it before. Shigure had moaned like that when they'd made love that afternoon. "I'd better start cleaning up this mess!" Tohru scrambled up and gathered dishes in her arms before retreating to the kitchen.
Hatori gave his cousin a dark look and gathered the rest of the dishes and followed after Tohru. "Shigure, it seems that you've frightened off poor Tohru." Saki grinned at the two men left at the table. She had seen the longing in her friend's eyes as she ran to the other room.
"So it seems I have. Hatori can be so dull. He didn't even stay for dessert." Shigure sounded so disappointed. Aya made a delighted sound as he retorted, "Yes, but it does leave more for the rest of us." He quirked an eyebrow at Saki.
Saki motioned her head to the doorway that Tohru and Hatori had exited through, "I think you both should look. I think that your cousin just doesn't want to share his dessert with you." Shigure and Aya shared a shocked look before trampling each other to see what Saki was talking about.
They burst out laughing when they saw Hatori standing between Tohru's thighs as she sat before him on the counter top. They were making quick work of their matching shirts while locked at the lips and grinding their lower bodies together.
Saki was feeling the full effect of whatever aphrodisiac way in her and moved to leave the table. She was going to have her fun in this game too. "Now if you'd both rather watch them, I'll just leave you to it." She knew Aya wouldn't let her leave now but she did want to play with her food first. As she tried to get away both men grabbed her and pulled her down close between them. Shigure's voice was low and throaty in her ear, "Now what makes you think that the only fun to be had is in the kitchen? I can think of a few things that will make you glad you didn't leave before the party even started."
As he spoke, Shigure was starting to tease her neck with his breath and then his tongue touched her ear. "Well, when you put it that way…" Saki teased back, "I think I should like to see these `things' that are so much fun." Aya was enjoying the exchange before him and lowered her dress so he could start playing with her nipples.
