[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Hey there… I still don’t own Furba T.T though my birthday is coming up soon… *hint hint Natsuki Takaya*
You know you should review… I promise to respond to each and every review I receive YAY *throws confetti* Anyway…. On with the [not mine don’t sue] show!
The laughter continued as the group gallivanted about the back yard giggling and squeaking as children do. Even Kyo had come outside to watch the escapades of the children of the Sohma family, and Tohru (safely in the shade of the porch ,of course). He rolled his eyes as he watched Tohru jump and twitter when Hero tagged her from behind. He didn’t know why, but she made him want to smile, even on the rainiest of days. He has found that, just by being near her, he would smile. No matter what kind of mood that stupid rat put him in…
Finally evening began to fall over the estate, casting long shadows over the grass, freshly painted with dew. The participants in the afternoon marathon of tag were completely exhausted, and all together fell to the ground, laughing with all the breath that their gasping lungs allowed. “Wow!” Momiji chuckled, “That was the most fun I’ve had since…well…awhile!” he painted and smiled to Tohru who was laying to his left.
“Sure was!” Agreed Kisa, “Ni-chan, promise we’ll do this again someday! Promise?” Tohru laughed
“I promise Kisa!” she said sweetly. “Wow” She restated, looking to the horizon, “Isn’t that orange sunset beautiful?” She asked of her playmates.
“There is no red in it” Hero stated “There will be a storm” he predicted in his usual ’tough guy’ voice.
“How do you know Mr. Smarty pants?” Asked Momiji, turning on his elbow to get a better look at Hero. An almost mocking sound in his voice. Hero rolled his eyes.
“Red at night sailor’s delight!” he recited. “There is no red, therefore not a sailor’s delight, so there is going to be a storm!” He said, making his point clear.
“Oh.” Said Momiji simply…
Wiping the sweat from her brow with her apron she found the strength to stand. “C’mon inside guys, I’ll make us…DINNER!” She cried out rushing into the house. “Oh my gosh! I just lost track of time! I was having so much fun..” She rambled to herself flinging the kitchen door open to discover Shigure, Yuki, and Kyo all sitting at the table, eating rice and leaks. “I-” She tried to explain, but Shigure held up his hand in protest.
“Dear Tohru” he began, as Yuki and Kyo both groaned to the start of another one of his rants. Somehow they always ended in both Yuki and Kyo getting violent, and not with each other… “You slave away in this kitchen, day after day, night after night, taking good care of us! You feed us, you clothe us, you clean for us, the only this you don’t do is bathe us! But…” He started to trail off, but when Kyo gave him a ’Don’t go there or I will use your intestines as Christmas tree decorations’ look, he decided to stick to the point. “What I’m saying, is that once in awhile you deserve a night off, a night you can enjoy yourself! Did you enjoy yourself tonight?” he questioned.
“I- Yes… yes I had a wonderful time…” She said, in her usual spacey way.
“Good!” He exclaimed “Now there is a plate for you on the counter, and don’t you worry about a thing!” He smiled. Yuki didn’t trust that smile…
“O-Okay, thank you so much Shigure-san!” she said bowing and heading to get her plate.

The night was cold, and as sure as Hero said, stormy. Tohru jolted up in her bed, gasping for breath as a cold bead of sweat dripped down her forehead. She closed her eyes, the dream still flashing through her mind and took several deep breaths; trying to calm her sparked fear. She opened her eyes again just in time to see a brilliant flash illuminate the sky, followed by a deep roar and the hiss of the rain as it fell towards the earth.
She jumped again, hearing her heart beat in her ears as it practically pounded its way out of her chest. She grabbed her blankets and pulled them to her chin, and laid back down, shutting her eyes tightly. ‘It was just a silly dream,’ she thought to herself. ‘Nothing more,’ but still her restless mind wandered through the pages of her subconscious recalling the frightening details.
There was Akito, standing over her with a knife. She screamed and tried to run but a strong pair of hands held her back. She looked up into the face of her captor and gasped. It was Kyo. She screamed still and tried her fight him off but to no avail.
Finally she stopped struggling and lay loose in his arms sobbing. She looked to him again and stared into his eyes…those were not Kyo’s eyes, but the eyes of a stranger. They had lost all their depth, hope, passion…and love. They were cold and lifeless as one raised from the dead. She dared to look back to Akito; it was too late, for he already had the knife above his head and was about to plunge it deep into her heart. That was the moment Tohru awoke.
As the scene replayed for the umpteenth time in her head Tohru decided that she was afraid. She opened her eyes again and realized that she could not stay in her room tonight but, there was no where else to sleep, maybe. She took her blanket and rolled off her bed as the lightening crashed again, she jumped as the light brightened her room for a split second. She slowly creaked open her bedroom door and tiptoed down the hall to the couch.
She slid open the paper door, only to notice, that she wasn’t the only one to have nightmares tonight…”Kyo?” She whispered softly, not knowing if he was asleep or awake. Suddenly, two orbs flashed to her from the darkness…orange orbs…wet orange orbs… They turned away. ”Kyo?” she asked again, making her way to the couch slowly and gently, as if he were to be spooked.
“Yes Tohru” The shadow figure answered back, in a stone voice. With the coldness of her dream, no, her nightmare.
“Oh Kyo no!!” Tohru sobbed, almost throwing herself onto him, but remembering the curse, settled for throwing her head down in the couch cushions beside him.
‘Crap’ Kyo thought ‘What did I do this time!?’ He started to panic. “Tohru!?” he asked and touched her sholder. His voice filled with concern, his touch warm. “Hey! Why are you crying all of the sudden!?” he asked looking at the pitiful creature sobbing practically on his lap. She was the center of his world… that pitiful creature, gave him a reason to wake up each day, a reason to do the best he could at life, heck, she was his reason for life! …But she couldn’t know…she could never know… because if she rejected him… there would be no more reason for living…
A/N- Kay, I promise it will get better! Battles implied lemons and *wispers* babies! Tohru’s accident, Oh yea, and DEATH!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHA I have many twists and turns so hang on for the ride and, oh yea, REVIEW!
