Amber made it to Shigure's house a little after midnight. She liked the forest around the house and decided it would be nice to detour deeper into the woods. As she entered the house she noticed everyone was still awake except for Tohru. Yuki looked up at her, surprised to find no a single mark any where on her. Akito would normally smack around anyone that looked as defiantly as she did. She pulled a bag from seemingly out of no where.
"Where's your shower."
Yuki pointed and she was soon gone, disappearing behind the door. He mentally shivered. She undressed herself and slid into the warm water. Her mind reeled over what had just happened. She saw the evil in that mans gaze, it was just like her masters. Amber got out of the tub after washing and delved into her back pack for some night cloths. All black. She smiled at how well her outfits portrayed her personallity. She slipped into her pajamas. She looked into the mirror. He eyes fell to her necklace. Memories haunt as much as the help. Why can't I die? Yuki, Kyo, and Shigure stared up at her. She gave them a cold glare and the looked away.
"How do I get on your roof?"
"What?" Shigure asked looking up curiously.
"The roof, how do I get on it?"
"There's a ladder off the balcony."
Amber grabber her bag and trotted up stairs. She got onto the roof and look up at the moon. The beatifull silver platue in the sky was her only salvation from the rest of the world. Another presence caught her attention. Kyo.
"Well if it isn't the cat man."
He looked down at her solemly. She looked up at his eyes, her face softening a bit.
"What?!" Kyo yelled.
"You remind me of him. In the darkness seeking the light that may never come, but it is starting to shine on you."
Her eyes lost the cold and cruel look. He sat down, and gave her side way glances. She eyed him. She was actually reaching out to him. She didn't know why though. Maybe it was the way he acted. She stood and jumped off the roof. Amber landed gracefully on her feet and Kyo just looked down at her. I can't like him. Not him. Not to pull him back down even if he is the only one that can bring me up to the light. Her emotions hid behind her mask. She stalked in to the woods. Kyo watched her disappear beneath the tree canopy. Kyo fell into a dreamless sleep. He woke with an early morning dew covering his face. Wiping it away he climbed down off the roof. Tohru was up and making breakfast. Shigure was reading the morning paper. And Yuki was walking around in a sleepy daze. He did a few stretches and walked outside to do his morning training. Amber was on the porch staring at something unseen. Fear flashed in her eyes for just a moment and she shot up. Yuki walked out behind Kyo and kicked him to the ground.
"What the hell! Ya damn rat!"
"Stupid cat, don't stand in the door way." He said calmly. "Miss...?"
"Amber. Amber Panther."
"Amber, how did you find out about the curse?"
"Doing what I do, you learn a lot of stuff."
"What do you do?" Kyo asked.
"That's a secret little kitten."
Kyo cringed at the pet name. He saw the necklace glinting from the light. It was a dragon twisted around a sapphire heart. Yuki also had seen the necklace. Amber caught their eyes again and glared. Nosey jackasses. Yuki turned around and marched straight in to the house. It was the weekend so school was out, except for the prince who had to go for the board. Amber came back on the roof. Her previous spot taken by Kyo. He glance up at her. She sat next to him.
"Why does that Akito guy scare you all?"
"I've been trying to figure that out myself. No one defies him, no matter what happens. I'm going to a cage and still I don't fight."
"Do you want to go?"
"No of course not, but what can I do?"
"I'll help you."
"Why?"
"My reasons are my own."
She walked away. Nira he is so much like you. When will I see you again?
"Wait."
She stopped and turned.
"Back on the porch, what did you see?"
"My past. You really are like him."
"Who?"
She climbed down the ladder quietly. She walked into Shigure's study and was met with a stoic glance. Amber sat in front of him.
"Akito wants to see you again."
"Facing his fears." She laughed cruelly.
"Why do you hate him."
"It was his type that put me where I'm am and took Nira."
She stood and walked out of the room. A quick glance around then she was out of the house and making her way to the Sohma estate. Rain clouds were rolling in and thunder could be heard off in the distance. Amber made it to the main gate before the rain started to fall. The door opened and Hatori was standing, waiting for her arrival. They walked down the same hall, into the same room, the same dark, cool place as before. Akito was sitting on the porch, a bird perched on his finger. He stood and straightened his robs. Slowly he turned to her, his eyes holding something. Holding a knowing of something. Something he wasn't supposed to.
"Leave" He said signalling Hatori.
He left and closed the door.
"Amber," He purred. "Do sit down."
"I'll stand."
"You are a demon."
"How?"
"Does it matter? You will stay here."
"I'm not one of you pets. You can't own me. Just leave me alone, I want to die."
"Let me help then!" He sneered and pulled out a dagger.
She pulled out a hidden katana and blocked his attack. His knee collided with her stomach. She flew back and hit the wall hard. Amber was knocked unconcious. Akito towered over her glaring down.
"You will stay here. Panther."
