I was so dazed by the events that had just taken place, that I didn't even notice the rain that was falling form the sky.
Now I was slipping and sliding down the roof, too shocked to grab onto anything. Kyou and Yuki reached out and grabbed me by my arms, trying to pull me back up to safety.
Thunder boomed in my ears suddenly, and the rain beat down without mercy. If they were saying anything to me, there was no way I'd be able to hear.

Just as I'm almost about up, someone's, I don't know whose, hand loses its grasp on my arm. I went swinging downward, and for a second, I thought it was the end. Then all of a sudden I'm balance safely on the roof, with Kyou and Yuki going into a panic beside me.

“You could have killed her you idiot! Why did you let go!?”

“Shut up stupid cat. You're the one who let go.”

“EXCUSE ME? Say that again, rat-boy.”

“I don't have time for this! Who do you think you are, taking Honda-san up on the roof while it's raining?”

“It wasn't raining before!”

I'm soaked to the bone, and these two are blowing each others heads off. Well, I'm not going to stick around.

“Now I really am going to bed.” I announce to the sky, as the rain drops splatter on my face.

And I did.

It rained like crazy the next few days. Poor Kyou-kun was really out of it. On the third day of stormy weather, I decide to bring him some soup.

“Kyou-kun?” I whispered as I headed towards his bed.

Where Kyou-kun should have been, there was an orange cat.

No, that was Kyou-kun. He must have gotten weak and transformed. My head was spinning. I was sure the curse was gone form him, but it couldn't be, could it? Because here he was, right in front of me. The proof that he was still cursed was right before my eyes. But I didn't want to believe it. I wanted him to be free.

I didn't want to disturb him, since he was sleeping so soundly. I took the soup back to the kitchen.

Later I tried again. Kyou was in human form, but he was still asleep. I walked over and kissed him lightly on the cheek. He stirred a little, but didn't wake up. I smiled down at him, and then I realized that under those covers he was naked. He must have changed back without waking, because there were his clothes in a heap at the foot of the bed. I turned red in the face and giggled nervously. Then I hurried away, after another failed attempt at hospitality.

I was still worried though. What if the changes had been only temporary? If I tried to hug him again later, would he turn into a cat? Something strange was going on; that I knew.
