Frozen In The Snow

Chapter One: A Fallen Black And White Angel
By: Demon Priestess Saturn

He was mad… No he was furious. He walked into the classroom with a frown etched into his face. It had been a day but it felt like it has just happened minutes ago. Why? He wondered to himself. It hurt so much to be told that he was unwanted. Or unloved was a more accurate statement. He looked around the empty classroom, and felt the rage fill his aching heart. He flipped his head to the side tossing his white and black hair. He was only fifteen and he already knew the pain of a broken heart. A twisted smile played onto his lips as he walked over to one of the wooden desks. Then it happened. He picked the desk up and tossed a crossed the room. Words ran through his head like a record player remembering every moment of the break up.

“We shouldn't be together. Ha!” He said in a sarcastic tone as he picked up another desk and tossed it. “I'll show you about not being together!” He threw another one. “This is exactly what I think!” He kicked a chair. “Do you have any idea how much this hurts!” He yelled as he picked up one last desk and threw it through the window in his rage. The kids in the hall scattered. He didn't care what they did. In fact he didn't care if they called the police. He'd fight off every last one of them. Then he calmed suddenly and looked at the broken window. Shaking his head he knew what was coming. He put a hand to his head and closed his brown eyes. It was over but he still hurt. Then the teacher walked in she was mad. He stared blankly at her as she yelled at him. For once he felt nothing but he knew the pain was there. He didn't care how much trouble he was in. It couldn't beat how he was going to feel for the rest of his life.

………………….

“Tohru kun!” A little boy with short blonde hair ran over.
“Momiji… What's the matter?” A girl with long brown hair and large blue eyes asked in a concerned tone.
“It's Haru…” Momiji said. “It's terrible.”
“What about Haru?” A boy with gray hair stood up slowly. He fixed his large purple eyes on Momiji.
“He's gone black and is ripping apart the classroom!” Momiji announced.
“Oh no.” Tohru said briskly. She looked over at the boy next to her. “Yuki kun.”
“Come on.” The gray haired boy walked past her and went into the hall. As the three walked down the hall they could see Haru sitting on the floor next to the room he had destroyed with another boy with short orange hair was standing in front of him.
“What on earth were you thinking?” The boy snapped in annoyance. “Damn it Haru your not supposed to go black at school.”
“Kyo leave him alone.” Yuki snapped and gave him a glare.
“Make me you damn rat!” The boy snapped back but Yuki ignored him and kneeled down beside Haru.
“Are you okay Hatsuharu san?” Tohru asked in concern.
“I'm fine.” Haru mumbled which indicated to Yuki that not all was fine.
“Haru what's the matter?” Yuki asked.
“It's nothing. I just got ticked off at someone.” Haru said but avoided Yuki's eyes.
“So you got in trouble just cos you got pissed off at some kid? You are unbelievable. I'm going to my martial arts class.” Kyo stalked off. Yuki glared at him as he left.
“He can be so inconsiderate that it amazes me.” Yuki said still with his glare. “Tohru shouldn't you be off to work?”
“Oh no! You're right I'll be late. Sorry I can't stay longer.” Tohru said as she grabbed her bag and started to run down the hall.
“I want to come!” Momiji yelled happily and ran after her.
“Haru what's going on?” Yuki looked back to his cousin.
“Nothing.” Haru snapped and got to his feet. “I told you what happened so drop it.” Haru snapped as he walked down the hall. Yuki stared after him with a worried expression coming onto his face. Haru never treated him like that before.

………………….

Yuki wandered the halls of the school and tossing his wild mess of gray hair as he walked. It had been two weeks since Haru's little outburst. And Yuki still didn't know what was going on with him. Haru had been suspended for two days after wreaking the classroom, stayed home from school another day, and since he came back to school he had been picking fights with everyone in sight. Something was seriously wrong, and for some reason Haru wasn't talking about it. This worried Yuki because he had never known Haru to shut off from everyone. In fact Haru was the last person he expected to do something like that. It was more of something him and Kisa would do. Yuki frowned as he stared blankly down the hall. Then Yuki heard a small commotion outside so he looked out the window. He could see a group of kids standing around a stage outside.

“Oh yeah the talent show.” Yuki thought to himself. “Too bad I'm not good at anything to be in it.” He frowned again. Then he noticed Tohru, Momiji, Kyo, and two of Tohru's friends who went by the names of Uo and Hana, standing around the stage. Uo was the punk in the school, who was a former gang member. She was smiling brightly and tossed her long blonde hair over her shoulder as she fixed her blue eyes onto Kyo's red eyes. This wasn't unusual for Uo. She liked picking on Kyo whenever she got the chance. And just like always Kyo would take the bait. Tohru's other friend however was creepier. Hana, a well-known psychic with long curly dark green hair that she kept pulled back in a braid. Her eyes, which were as dark as her hair, looked indifferent as always at the situation around her. Yuki smiled to himself just before he caught a glimpse of the something at the corner of his eye. He looked to the other side of the stage and in the back of the ground stood Haru. Yuki pushed himself up from his leaning position on the windowsill and quickly headed down the hall to the stairs.

………………….

“Ladies and Gentlemen! I Makoto Minagawa, as the president of the prince Yuki fan club, present a song dedicated to the prince himself. Hit it girls!” A woman with long brown hair coming down to her waist shouted. Her magenta eyes gleamed with excitement. She wanted hoped Yuki was in the crowd or at least was going to be. The fan club girls hit the stereo and they immediately got into position. The fan club girls stood in the back and started dancing and clapping.

Oh Yuki, you're so fine! You're so fine! You blow my mind. Hey Yuki! Hey Yuki!
Oh Yuki, you're so fine! You're so fine! You blow my mind. Hey Yuki! Hey Yuki!
Oh Yuki, you're so fine! You're so fine! You blow my mind. Hey Yuki...

Everyone stared in shock at the girls on the stage.

Hey Yuki.

You think you've got the right but I think you've got it wrong.
Why can't we say goodnight? So you can take me home, Yuki!

Cause when you say you will, it always means you won't.
You're givin' me the chills, baby, please baby don't.
Every night you still leave me all alone, Yuki.

Oh Yuki, what a pity, you don't understand…
You take me by the heart when you take me by the hand.

Ooh what you do Yuki, do Yuki.

Every time you move I let a little more show.
There's something you can use, so don't say no, Yuki!

So come on and give it to me anyway you can.
Anyway you want to do it, I'll take it like a man.
Oh please baby, please don't leave me in this jam Yuki!

The girls ended their song and Makoto had a big smile on her face. Some of the kids stared blankly not sure what to think. Then the crowd started whistling and clapping. Makoto smiled and once again said something else. “Thank you everyone!”

“How sweet.” Tohru smiled brightly. “I wonder if Yuki heard.”
“He's probably glad he didn't.” Kyo looked at the ground. “I wish I hadn't…”
“It was kind of cute.” Momiji smiled and then every one quieted down as Haru started laughing. Everyone looked over at him as his walked up to the stage and some of the kids started whispering. And some were giggling and snickering behind his back.
“What are you laughing about?” Makoto glared.
“As if he would ever do that. Maybe you should keep your obsession to yourself Makoto.” Haru looked up at her.
“Oh yeah! You think you can do better? You get up here and sing. I bet you you're not as brave to sing about how you feel.” Makoto sneered.
“Okay.” Haru said and climbed up on the stage.
“Your not serious.” Makoto was shocked.
“Yes I am you challenged me after all. Lets see who wins this contest.” Haru reached his hand out.
“Fine but your going to loose.” Makoto handed the mic over. Haru walked over to the stereo and messed with it a bit. Soon a tune started to play and he walked up to the front of the stage. Yuki came running a crossed the lawn a few minutes later and stopped next to Tohru who smiled at him.
“Did you hear the song Makoto dedicated to you?” Tohru asked but Yuki wasn't listening his mind was too fixed on Haru. “Yuki?”

Let's talk this over.
It's not like were dead.
Was it something I did?
Was it something you said?

Don't leave me hangin, in a city so dead.
Held up so high.
I'm such a breakable thread.

You were all the things I thought I knew.
And I thought we could be.

You were everything, everything that I wanted.
We were meant to be, supposed to be.
But we lost it.
All of our memories so close to me just fade away.
All this time you were pretending so much for my happy ending.
So much for my happy ending.

You've got you dumb friends.
I know what they say.
They tell you I'm difficult, but so are they.
But they don't know me.
Do they even know you?
All the things you hide for me.
All the shit that you do.

You were all the things I thought I knew.
And I thought we could be.

You were everything, everything that I wanted.
We were meant to be, supposed to be.
But we lost it.
All of our memories so close to me just fade away.
All this time you were pretending so much for my happy ending.

It's nice to know that you we're there.
Thank for acting like you care.
And making me feel like I was the only one.
It's nice to know we had it all.
Thank for watching as I fall.
And letting me know we were done.

She were everything, everything that I wanted.
We were meant to be, supposed to be.
But we lost it.
All of our memories so close to me just fade away.
All this time you were pretending so much for my happy ending.

You were everything, everything that I wanted.
We were meant to be, supposed to be.
But we lost it.
All of our memories so close to me just fade away.

So much for my happy ending.
So much for my happy ending.

Haru lowered the microphone and everyone cheered. Makoto looked dumbfounded. Haru however was not smiling. He looked at the stage floor with this look of dread on his face. It looked at if he was going to cry.

“Here.” Haru handed the mic back to Makoto. “It looks like you won.”
“Won… What do you mean? That beat mine totally.” Makoto was shocked.
“Nah… It never could.” Haru said as he jumped off the stage and put his hands in his pockets. He walked past the crowd and disappeared.
“Haru!” Yuki yelled but he lost sight of him.
“Actually he did pretty good.” Kyo said calmly. Tohru looked worried and it was obvious Yuki was.
“Haru has such a good voice.” Momiji said happily.
“Yuki?” Tohru looked at him.
“Excuse me a minute.” Yuki took off through the crowd. He ran around the building and found Haru sitting next on the stairs with a knife at his wrist. Yuki gasped and started running.
“Haru don't!”

End Chapter One

Yes I am being insane. But I am having fun. Personal note the songs came from Jennifer Heart's (Or at least that is what my MP3 says.) Hey Mickey and Avril Lavigne's My Happy Ending. I don't own either of the songs nor do I own Fruits Basket. Nor am I selling this in anyway shape or form. Okay that was a little extreme. Anyways tell me what you all think. I'll be waiting to hear from you.
