Revelations

Tohru puttered around the kitchen making dinner. She distracted herself, thinking about her new band-mate. There were so many questions surrounding the girl. How did she know Akito? And why did it upset Ayame so much? And what about what she said to Hana about `poking at people'? Tohru shook her head, setting the table and calling everyone for dinner. Shigure walked in and smiled at Tohru as he sat down.
“How was my little flower's day? Did you meet with your lover today?” He asked just as Kyo and Yuki walked in earning himself two lumps on the head and a light blush from Tohru.
“My day was fine. We got a singer for our band. She works for Ayame.” Tohru said taking a bite of her food.
“Oh, is she the new employee that Ayame was raving about on the phone earlier?”
“Yes. She came in to work while Hana, Arisa, and I were trying to decide how to advertise the spot. Akito was there talking to Ayame too so she was walking around and overheard us. She auditioned on the spot. She's really good. But how she reacted to Akito confuses me.” Kyo and Yuki gave her thoughtful looks but Shigure seemed to take it a bit more seriously. His face lost its usual giddiness and he slowly lowered his chopsticks seeming to have lost his appetite.
“How she reacted to Akito?” He asked, looking at Tohru intently.
“Yeah, he heard her singing and applauded her like he would. Then she said `Thank you Akito' and asked him to come to our first gig when we get one. She said it would be an honor to her. I keep wondering how she knew his name. Doesn't he usually stay in the honke?” Tohru looked at Shigure, his face had become thoughtful and he hadn't touched his food in the time she had explained everything.
“What's her name?” Kyo asked Tohru completely oblivious to the Dog's reaction.
“Her name is Amy. She didn't tell us her last name. She said she's living at a hotel for now until she can get enough money to buy or rent somewhere.” Suddenly Shigure perked back to his usual nature.
“Well we can't have that now can we? A friend of Tohru's living in a hotel? No no no. She can stay here `till she has enough saved up.” Kyo glared at the Dog.
“No. That is not happening. I'm not living with this girl. She doesn't even know about the curse. She's probably like that freaky denpa girl too with the power to read minds.”
“Oh shut up you baka neko. Even if she can read minds there's nothing in your head so what are you worried about?”
“WHAT?! You goddamned rat you wanna start something right now?!” Kyo got up, ready to fight.
“I think we should have this Amy girl.” Yuki said, appearing not to have heard Kyo, “What harm could it do?”

The next day Arisa, Hana, and Amy met with Tohru at Shigure's house. Kyo was at Kazuma's working and Yuki was out in his garden. The four girls sat in the living room talking about the usual band stuff, music, lyrics, etc, when the topic of the next band practice came up.
“So, I think we should meet at Amy's next time.” Arisa said, looking at the other three.
“No can do. I live in a hotel at the moment, remember?” Amy smirked at Arisa. The two of them had made it a habit to pick at each other all in fun.
“Well, I was talking to Shigure yesterday and told him about you living in a hotel and he said that if you wanted to you could move in with us until you find a place of your own.” Tohru said.
“Really? Thanks. That would be great and it would give me a head start on saving. I don't have much so I'll bring it over after work today ok?” Amy smiled at Tohru. “Hey how about I go let Shigure know that I accepted his offer?”
“Okay. He should be in his study.”
Amy got up and walked down the hall to Shigure's study. Stopping at his door, she knocked lightly, smiling as it brought back some of her happier memories.
“Ah, Amy.” Shigure said, opening the door. “What gives me the pleasure of you visiting my humble study?”
“Tohru just told me about your offer to host me `till I can get myself on my own two feet.” Amy said, smiling at him.
“Ah, well I'm assuming that you came to tell me that you're accepting the offer?”
“That would be correct. Thank you very much for offering. I'll bring my things by after work.” Amy said as she started heading back down the hall. “It'll be nice to live here again.” The words were barely audible but Shigure's sensitive ears caught what she'd said, making him wonder just exactly what history she had with their esteemed head.
