Fruits Basket Fan Fiction ❯ I'll Fly With You ❯ Intoductions and Reunions ( Chapter 2 )
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
`First my mom forces me into this foreign exchange student thing, away from all my friends. Then she puts me into this private school,' Yuki thought to himself as he opened the door to his new dorm room. `I don't even want to be here. It's like I'm living her life.' Yuki sighed tiredly and looked around.
Flashback
“I can't believe we're all going to be separated next year,” Tohru cried. “We've been best friends for so long. I'm going to miss you all so much.” She was sobbing.
“Aww…Tohru. Don't cry,” Yuki tried to console her. We'll still write to each other and have our late night telephone chats. Come on cheer up.” He smiled warmly at her.
Tohru's parents had placed her in a private school (the very same one Yuki was at now) as soon as she finished middle school.
Kyo's parents had decided to move to another city several hundred miles away.
Haru went on to the high school they had all originally planned to go to.
End Flashback
“Hmm…guess I don't have a roommate,” Yuki mused.
Just as Yuki finished his sentence a tall, slender, long-haired, slightly effeminate teen sauntered through the doorway.
“Hey roomie,” the guy in the door greeted.
Uh…hi,” Yuki said, shaking his new roommate's hand.
“I'm Ayame. And you are?” Ayame looked at Yuki, grinning.
“Yuki.”
“Nice to meet you, Yuki. You're very attractive you know that,” Ayame said, looking Yuki up and down.
“Umm…thanks,” Yuki replied a bit nervously.
“You know, I was a little miffed when I found out they'd moved me to a new room, but since it seems my roommate is pretty cool I suppose I don't mind. Well anyway, I'd better go. See you at the assembly roomie.” Ayame smiled at Yuki then waltzed out the door.
Meanwhile, Tohru was getting ready for the assembly with her roommate, Kagura, somewhere in the girls' dorm.
“Haha, I can't believe we're already seniors, can you?” Tohru laughed as she checked the time.
“Yeah, it's pretty crazy,” Kagura said. “Hey, we'd better go Tohru. Come on, maybe we'll see Kyo.”
“Oh we're bound to find him somewhere. That boy is always getting into trouble.” Tohru laughed at her angry classmate.
The two girls giggled as they made their way to the auditorium for the assembly.
At the same time a white-haired teen was angrily unpacking his things in his new dorm room.
“I can't believe my parents put me into this stupid private school.” Haru continued mumbling to himself as his roommate walked in.
Kyo sighed as he walked into his new room.
“Just when I got used to my old room too. Oh well, hopefully my roommate is…” Kyo's jaw dropped as his new roommate, Haru, turned around and stared at him.
“Kyo?” Haru eyed him questioningly. “What are you doing here? I thought you moved.”
“Haru, I can't believe it's you. I haven't seen you in so long.” Kyo gave Haru a big hug. “I did move, but my parents moved me back here a year ago. Did you know Tohru goes here, too?”
“Really,” Haru asked, “that's amazing. I wonder where Yuki is? If we found him we'd have the whole group back together. I still can't believe it's really you.”
“Haha…yeah I know. I'm still in shock, too. How great that we're roommates, though.” Kyo smiled at Haru.
“Hey, Kyo,” Haru began, “remember how we all promised to write each other. Haha…what happened?”
“I don't know, but sorry. At least we're together now, right?”
“Yeah.” Haru smiled. “So, how's Tohru been?”
“Umm…well…I'm not entirely sure,” Kyo confessed, “she and I really don't talk much, you know? I guess we grew apart or something.” Kyo looked down at the floor.
“Oh…that sucks,” Haru said. “Hey maybe I can get you guys to talk and then we can all get together and find out where Yuki is and contact him.”
“Yeah, that would be cool,” Kyo replied sounding less than enthusiastic. “Hey, listen we'd better get going to the assembly. They get really bitchy when you don't go.”
They both laughed as Kyo grabbed Haru by the arm and dragged him toward the auditorium.
On the way they ran into two brown haired girls giggling like crazy.
“Oh…Tohru,” Kyo said. “Hi.”
“Uh…hi Kyo.” She looked at him then noticed a white haired, pierced teen standing next to Kyo, trying to regain his composure.
“Who's your friend,” she asked.
Haru looked at her like she was a mad woman. “Tohru, you don't remember me, Haru?”
“Haru! Is that really you? Wow! You look so different.” She smiled at him while her friend Kagura was unsuccessfully putting the moves on Kyo.
“Hey,” Tohru began again, “we should all get together for lunch, don't you think?”
“Sounds great.” Haru grinned. “Don't you think, Kyo?”
“Oh…yeah, awesome.” Kyo smiled faintly. “The assembly's about to start and I don't want them to bitch at me for ditching again, so lets go.” Kyo looked at Haru then pulled him away.
“Hmm…what's up his ass,” Kagura mused, playfully.
“I don't know, but he seems much different then the Kyo I once knew,” Tohru said.
“Maybe he just needs some sex,” Kagura chuckled.
“Kagura!” Tohru stared at her in mock surprise.
“What? I've heard that guys who are always angry just need some sex to relieve themselves. That's what I heard.”
“Haha…whatever. We'd better get going.” Tohru laughed as she and Kagura made their way into the auditorium, looking for some seats.
Yuki turned the corner just as Tohru and Kagura finished talking.
`Hmm…very interesting,' he thought to himself. `I should try and find them during lunch.'
With that Yuki stepped into the auditorium and was nearly pummeled by his new roommate, Ayame.
“I told you I'd see you at the assembly. Sit with me and my friend, roomie.”
“Umm…okay.” Yuki was just getting swept away.
“Yuki, this is Shigure. Shigure, Yuki.”
“Nice to meet you,” Shigure smiled playfully.
For some reason he reminded Yuki of a puppy or something.
`Haha…whatever.' Yuki was laughing to himself
“Yeah, nice to meet you too.” Yuki smiled back at him and sat down.
The assembly ended a while later.
“Geez…that was pointless,” Yuki commented.
“Haha…you'll get used to it,” Ayame and Shigure replied simultaneously.
They all headed to their respective classes.
It was finally lunchtime and Yuki couldn't be happier. “Are they trying to kill me,” he said aloud, mostly to himself.
However, a certain white haired was passing by and happened to hear him.
“I know what you mean. Geez…I'm not used to this kinda stuff. It's my first year here, how about you?” Haru smiled at Yuki and offered him a friendly handshake.
“Yeah, it's my first year too. I'm Yuki.”
“Yuki?” Haru stared at Yuki not believing what he saw. “It's me Haru. Don't you recognize me?”
“It is you. Wow! This is amazing. What are you doing here?”
“Well, my parents thought it would be a good idea to put me into this private school because they thought I was being to rebellious, what with my piercings and all. I think they're stupid.”
“Hmmm…my mom thought this was the best place for me. She wants me to go to some prestigious college and all that junk. Whatever.”
“Hey,” Haru said, “you know Tohru and Kyo are here too. I'm about to go eat lunch with them. You wanna come with?”
“Sure sounds great.” Yuki smiled and followed Haru to the cafeteria.
