Fruits Basket Fan Fiction ❯ In the Closet ❯ Part 1 ( Chapter 1 )

[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]

Disclaimer: None of the characters in this Fruit Basket fanfic are mine, which really upsets me T_T'. They all belong to the rightful owner, which right now I can't seem to remember. Oh wait, it's Takaya Natsuki! (Natsuki sensei, I really love your characters!) I love them all. I thought they are all well-designed and well-developed in the story. In the real story, I mean. I didn't write this for money, just for a little fun to kill time in my boring, jobless life.

Warning: It begins with a sweet good-humored beginning, a bit of shonen-aiin the middle, and a Lemonish YAOI in the end. It's definitely NC-17. And although I made changes here and there from the original story, it might still contain spoilers for episode 6 of the anime. Oh, and also watch out for the mild language.

Pairing: Yuki x Kyou (or is it the other way around? I 'm not sure who is the seme and who is the uke. It just happens naturally, I guess). Please enjoy reading it! ^____^

Acknowledgement: The whole 3 chapters of this fic was beta-read by the lovely Nicole Myhre (mailto:rudga28@yahoo.com). I can never thank you enough. Wuv you! ^______^

In the Closet

Part I

A fanfiction by Sumeragi Sakura

Disaster fell upon the house of Souma Shigure on a sunny Monday Morning. The morning started as usual, just like any other day. Breakfast was already prepared and had been set on the table, ready to be eaten. Souma Shigure was sitting on the tatami in the dining room, reading his newspaper, waiting for all the house occupants to come into the room. His calm face was at peace, knowing nothing of the crisis that was about to happen.

Honda Tohru sat on her knees, just across from him.

The cause of the disaster.

The bearer of shocking news.

"Shigure-san, my friends, Uo-chan and Hana-chan, have told me that they would like to come here tomorrow after school. They wanted to see…uhm, the new surrounding where I'm living now."

The bomb had been dropped.

Souma Yuki stopped dead in his tracks to the dining room. He heard what Tohru had just said through the thin paper door of the dining room. His mind raced fast. A couple of strangers, worse, strange girls were coming to this house? The house where most of the inhabitants were male, cursed with the jyuunishi. Having Tohru in the house, however pleasant and helpful she was, had sometimes caused havoc when she accidentally bumped into them in the hallway.

Akito had agreed to let Tohru stay in the house.

Akito knew nothing of these other girls coming to the house.

This couldn't be good.

Souma Kyou, who had just arrived at the dining room when the last sentence of Tohru's request was finished, screeched like a cat whose tail was run over by a truck. He stuttered, trying to fully digest Tohru's words.

"Wh..wh..WHAAAAAT?!"

Tohru jumped back in surprise. She blinked stupidly at Kyou, his chest was heaving after screaming so loud.

"What's wrong, Kyou-kun?" she asked.

"You're going to bring girls into this house? ARE YOU MAD?!"

Yuki clicked his tongue, upset. That baka neko, yelling at Honda-san again, never realizing that he hurt her by doing so. He stepped into the room, ready to rescue Tohru with a big smack to Kyou's head.

But she didn't look sad or hurt. Her eyes bulged larger and her face wore a pleading expression that always touched Yuki's inner heart in a way that made him feel like he was going to grant any of her wishes. God, he was weak against her.

"But, Kyou-kun, Uo-chan and Hana-chan are nice girls. They are my friends, my..my best friends. They promised my mother to look after me after she died. So they just wanted to make sure that the family I'm living with is good enough for my sake. They are really, really, really nice girls."

"BUT WE CAN'T HAVE ANY OTHER GIRLS IN THIS HOUSE!" Kyou screeched again.

This time, Yuki really smacked him on the head.

"You're being too loud, Baka Neko," he said calmly.

Kyou, crouching on the floor while holding his injured head, growled like an angry tomcat at his mouse rival. Pair's of cat's ears popped from his head, making him really look like a cat.

Shigure, who through all the loud havoc had stayed perfectly calm, folded his newspaper and put it on the table. A suspiciously innocent wide grin was on his face, making Yuki pale. What had been going on inside the perverted dog's head that could make him grin "innocently" like that?

Knowing Shigure it must be something that was entirely not good.

"I think it's all right to let them come. After all, they are Tohru-chan's close friends, aren't they? Of course she can bring her friends over to this house."

Tohru gasped in delight. She clasped her hands and smiled, while her eyes bulged even larger.

"Really, Shigure-san? Is it really okay?"

"Hai, hai!"

"Kyaaaa! Arigatou gozaimasu, Shigure saan!"

Too happy and too excited to think, Tohru jumped at Shigure and hugged him close. A puff of smoke exploded, accompanied by the sound of a small explosion. The next second, Tohru was hugging a dark gray, lazy-eyed dog.

"SEE? THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I DON'T WANT THE GIRLS TO COME!" shouted a very upset Kyou.

Yuki covered his eyes with his hand, feeling as frustrated as Kyou.

"Honda-saan…."

The house shook again. This time by the panicked scream that was coming from Tohru. It was a good thing that the house laid on the vast land of the Souma family's property, which guaranteed that there wouldn't be any neighbors living near them. If there were, they wouldn't be living in peace with the troublesome, cursed Souma family.

Later that night, Yuki crept his way silently into Shigure's working room. He slid the door open a little, enough to see the room was dim. The only light shining into the room was the bright moonlight from the night sky. A tall figure wearing a kimono stood on the doorway that led to the garden, across from where Yuki was standing.

Yuki approached the man, with the silence of a mouse.

"Ne, beautiful full moon, isn't it, Yuki?" asked Shigure.

Yuki placed himself next to Shigure. His mind was entirely not thinking about the full moon. He glanced aside, staring sharply into Shigure's smiling eyes.

"What were you planning, Shigure san?" he asked.

"Hmm?" Shigure responded absent-mindedly, as if he was really absorbed in adoring the full moon.

"Why did you let Tohru's friends come over? You know how dangerous it will be."

"What are you saying, Yuki-kun? I'm sure we all can be very careful not to let them know our secret."

"It will be safer not to let them come at all."

"But then, what will I tell Tohru-chan? That she is not allowed to bring her best friends to her house? Why don't you try to tell her that, Yuki, because I can't."

Yuki was silent this time.

"She just lost her mother, and her grandfather abandoned her. She has to live with us, while doing all the house chores that we hate. She even took that part time job at night and still has to study hard for her school. Don't you think it's a bit tough for a young girl like her? Even though she always says how happy she is and she never minds working that hard, we don't know how she really feels. Living with guys like us, it's only natural if she feels a little lonely. You know that girls like to chat and hang out with her other girl friends. Maybe, this Uo-chan and Hana-chan can help her more than we could, ne, Yuki-kun?"

Yuki sighed. Feeling helpless and a little bit embarrassed to be such a selfish person, he retreated from the room. At the doorway, he stopped again.

"If something happens tomorrow, don't tell Akito, Shigure."

"This house and what happens inside it are my responsibility, Yuki-kun. Your job, and Kyou's, is just to live in it accordingly," replied Shigure without turning his head.

As silently as he came, Yuki disappeared from the room, leaving Shigure still standing in the doorway, bathing under the moonlight.

A grin cracked on the man's face.

His eyes sparkled cunningly. His usually lazy expression turned into a serious one with a devilish aura around him.

He wasn't thinking about Tohru's benefit. He just said it to take Yuki's suspicion away from him. He had an entirely different plan in his head.

A plan of his own.

He sang silently to himself.

High school girls, high school girls,

tomorrow two sweet high school girls are coming to my house.

Sailor skirts and cute little ribbons.

High school girls, high school girls,

hurry come to me.

But Shigure's prediction about the two sweet high school girls of his dreams had proven to be wrong the next afternoon. There were sailor skirts alright, but they were neither short nor mini at all. Uotani's skirt was long, it fell down to her ankles, indicating that she was a yankee, a gang member of the female yakuza. Hanajima's skirt was not as long as Uotani's, but it covered her limbs down to the knee.

And there weren't any ribbons at all.

In fact, Uotani's yakuza style and Hanajima's psychic power were a deadly combination for the perverted lovey-dovey Shigure. He wept in his heart while trying so hard to be a nice host for Tohru's friends.

However careful they were, accidents always happened. This must be part of the Souma family's curse. Kyou was the first one to change into his animalistic form, after accidentally bumped into Uotani. He quickly disappeared, leaving the trail of his clothes for Tohru to take care of.

The second one was Shigure himself. How scary it was to see both of the girls' surprised looks when they saw Tohru suddenly hugged a strange dark gray dog.

"Ah….haha…haha…. This is Pocchi-chan," Tohru introduced the dog to her friends nervously.

They both believed her.

But it wasn't over yet. After some ridiculous misunderstanding, Tohru accidentally hugged Yuki, and thus turned him into his mouse form. Panickly scrambling to escape from the room, little Yuki Mouse ran with his little feet to the closet in the hallway. The closet's door was closed, but he got in through the little hole on the lower part of the door.

Huffing, puffing, he was relieved to be able to escape without being noticed. He would wait here for a few minutes, before going upstairs to his room to get his clothes.

His plan sounded perfect then.

Then.

Before he realized he made another mistake.

"Oi, kuso-nezumi, what are you doing here too?" asked an orange-haired cat with an upset look on his face.

"WHAT?!"

"Go and find your own hiding place," said Kyou again.

"I didn't know you were here."

"I tried to find some clothes in my room, but the over-diligent Tohru-kun has washed all of them. My wardrobe closet is empty. I have to hide here while trying figure out a way to get my clothes from the dining room."

"Oh no. That means that I don't have anymore clothes in my room either," said Yuki.

"I don't care about you. Go hide somewhere else! This place is too small for both of us!" snapped Kyou.

"What do you mean? This place is big enough for us."

Poof!

A puff of smoke exploded. Yuki and Kyou found themselves staring into each other's naked body.

Kyou's eyebrows twitched with anger.

"I meant, it won't fit for both of us after we changed back into our human forms!" he emphasized every word he said in order to suppress his anger.

Face to face, bare-chest to bare-chest and thigh to thigh, they stood awkwardly close to each other.

"GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Author's Note: I'll welcome any reviews or comments gladly. And critics too. I know that this fic is waaay far from perfect. U____U.

Thanks to the unbelievably nice Nicole-chan, who was willing to beta-read this fic, I can be sure that the spelling and grammatical mistakes has been reduced to minimal. But if you still find any,…well, nobody's perfect, right? ^___^

And also, I never planned this fic to be written in 3 chapters. At first, I wanted to make it a quick PWP thingy between Yuki and Kyou, but somehow I just couldn't do it. U___U

For those of you who are looking for some quick action, please be patient. You can just go to the last chapter and find your action there, but that way the story won't be built up properly. Just bear with me…. Hope you enjoyed it!
