Kagura waited in the waiting room for the results; meanwhile, the nurse who had guided her through the process was in one of the small offices nearby, and she was checking over the test to ensure that she wasn't making any mistakes -- these days, one had to be careful.
Feeling confident, the nurse stepped out of the office, clipboard in hand.
"Kagura Sohma?" she announced, scanning the waiting room for the young woman she had seen earlier.
"Yes, that's me," Kagura answered, rising and walking over to the nurse.
"Come right on in please," the nurse (she was a Sohma doctor) said, stepping aside to allow the girl to walk in.
She followed her into the room. "..."
"Why don't you have a seat?" Nurse Sohma gestured one hand towards a chair that was across from her. "I believe you'll want to be sitting for this."
She sat down. "W...what does it say?" she asked, looking up at the nurse.
The nurse smiled, masking her nervousness...usually, she didn't mind making the announcement, but with so many reactions coming at her ranging from cheers and joyful tears to downright denial, one couldn't predict the reactions...
Especially when it came to the Sohmas.
"Congratulations, Sohma-san! You're pregnant!"
"Oh...t...thank you...I guess..." she got up and walked to the door.
The nurse smiled. "It's no problem, Sohma-san," she said, thinking that it was rather strange for the girl to have come alone -- normally, the partner would've come along, but not so this time...
"If I could have one more minute of your time, Sohma-san?" the nurse spoke up.
"Hm? Yes, what is it? More bad news?" she asked, stopping at the door.
The nurse shook her head, still smiling.
"No no; I was just wondering...your partner chose not to come with you?"
"No, he has someone else, so he never came." she said
The smile vanished, now replaced with a slight wave of sadness.
"Oh...I see..." she said; it was no wonder the girl had come alone -- the nurse's suspicions were true -- the girl had been raped.
Putting her smile back on she said, "Well, that's all for now I guess. Here's a card with the maternity specialist's info on it. She's off for today, but she should be back by tomorrow."
"Thank you," Kagura said, taking the card from the nurse.
"Have a nice day. Be careful, now."
She nodded and walked back to the house. I wonder if Haru is still there?
:: Kagura's House ::
"Why did you come in here?" Rin demanded, looking up at Haru while hiding under the covers.
The dual-hair colored teen looked down at Rin, slightly worried.
"Don't worry...I'm not going to try anything with you this time," Haru answered.
"Then what do you want?" Rin demanded; she was trying to hide under the blanket, but Haru was pulling it off.
As soon as Hatsuharu had pulled off the blanket, he noticed the slight enlargement in size, and Rin gave a nearly silent gasp.
"So is is true..." he said, halting.
"GO AWAY!?" She cried.
But Haru seemed to not hear the girl's demands, and he stepped back.
"Why didn't you tell me yourself, Rin?!" he demanded.
"I was scared...okay? I was gonna tell you yesterday, but...leave me alone..!" Isuzu said, and she pulled the blanket back over her head.
Instead of disobeying, Haru took a couple more steps back, and he walked to the door.
"Fine...if that's what you really want,...then I'll go," he said, leaving.
"Hello?! Anyone here?" yelled Kagura at the front door. She took a couple of steps inside, having removed her shoes, only to be nearly bowled over by Hatsuharu as he left the house, seemingly in a rush. "Huh..? Hatsuharu..?" Kagura's voice nearly faded out as he disappeared from sight.
"HARU! Where are you going?" asked Kagura from the door, but Haru, ignoring Kagura, just kept on walking.
Shrugging it off, Kagura walked inside all the way and went upstairs, guessing that Isuzu was up in her room.
"Rin?" Kagura called, walking down the hall to Rin's room.
"What?" Rin called back from under the blankets, and Kagura walked over to the doorway of Rin's room, stopping and then looking inside at her.
"I...I went to the hospital today," Kagura said to Rin, "and I found out...I found out that I'm pregnant."
"You're...what?!" Rin said getting up, and Kagura nodded, acknowledging that what she said was true.
