Chapter 3 - In Open Waters

That was really stupid.

What was I thinking? Of course! I wasn't.

I know I was upset. I know they didn't mean it. I know it's just how they are.

But I just left my girlfriend alone with my brother and a pervert.

I'm an idiot.

Among other things.

Ayame and Shigure really do mean well. I've learned, especially in these last few years, that they care for me more than my own parents. And if it hadn't been for them both, I may still be trapped in a lifeless shell.

Well, Tohru had a lot to do with that too.

Sadly, I wish I could speak to her now. Surely she'd reprimand them both for being the idiots they are. And still be nice about it. But they've always played like that, one feeding off the other. It seems like they should have been brothers rather than friends.

'And you left your girlfriend in their hands!'

That little voice in my head wouldn't stop reminding me of the most shameful part of the evening. Although I'm sure Machi can handle them, she does have a temper. Would serve them right to see it too! But it's my job to protect her. It's always been my duty. And I storm off and leave her alone.

“Oh man....”

What's worse than being an idiot?

The lake rippled in front of me, a stone skipping the water's surface as it raced out into open waters. How many of these had I thrown? It was in no way comforting, but it allowed me to calm enough to really think things through. And when the last stone sunk into the lake, I was resolved to go back and make things right.

"Yuki?"

I was surprised to see Machi sitting next to me. She looked worried, but happy to see me. No signs of anger. Were my brother and cousin still alive? Did I really care? She found me. She was with me.

"How did you find me?"

"I just followed the path," she replied. "Although it’s not as easy to see in the dark.” She tilted her head to one side. “Are you okay?"

"Yes." A sigh escaped before I could stop it, but I smiled reassuringly. I reached for her hand, pulling it into my lap. We both moved closer, for comfort and for warmth. "Yes, I'm much better now." I squeezed her hand lightly. "I'm sorry for leaving like that. It was childish...."

"It's okay," she answered, squeezing my hand in return. "I think they were just...testing us."

"A test, huh?"

"Why else would they be here?"

"To drive us crazy."

She giggled. "Besides that."

I chuckled. "It's plausible, I suppose." I tilted my head to get a better look at her. "You're not upset, are you?"

"Well, yeah," she admitted with a shrug. "But they're your family. And they are...well, them!" There really was no other way to put it. "They care about you, Yuki. They want you to be happy."

I nodded. "Did you give them a piece of your mind?"

"You bet I did," she replied with a widening smile. "I think I may have scared them a little."

"Well, you can be scary sometimes."

"Mm-hmm.” She nodded. “Just like you first thing in the morning?"

"I'm not THAT scary," I replied, then paused. "Am I?"

“Yes.” She squeezed my hand. "At any rate, they did manage to give us something."

"Really?” All I had was a headache. “What's that?"

She leaned against my side, resting her head on my shoulder. "An opportunity to be alone."

As clouds passed by, the moon seemed to cast the perfect amount of light on the lake. We could see everything to the water's edge. A breeze caught the limbs of the trees, causing a few cherry blossoms to fall. One of them stuck to Machi's hair. She was none the wiser, her focus was on the gently coursing waters.

“It’s beautiful up here,” she commented.

I smiled. “You’re beautiful.”

She looked up suddenly, my hand pulling away from her hair. I showed her the cherry blossom. She smiled, plucking it from my hand.

“So are you.”

Her other hand found my hair and tugged me downward until our lips met.

The kiss was passionate, gentle and hungry. I wanted to devour her in that. Almost desperate with need. I think she felt the same way, her fingers combing through my hair and holding tightly as I pulled her body closer to mine. Sitting, it was an odd angle, but anything went to feed our hunger and fuel the fires of desire.

My hands caressed her back as her hands caressed my neck and shoulders. I didn't even feel her unbuttoning my shirt until her hands smoothed over my bare chest. I couldn't shrug out of my shirt fast enough. Her fingers felt like tiny matches against my skin, branding me to her touch.

I wanted to return the favor, eager to touch her more intimately. But before I could do so, she broke the kiss. She kissed me on nose before pulling away.

"Machi?"

"I've got an idea."

Curiosity getting the better of me, I let her slip from my grasp. With a mischievous smile, she began unbuttoning her blouse. My eyes were wide, glued to her breasts as she pulled material out of the way and tossed it aside.

Her eyes danced with impish delight as she carefully undid her bra. A front closure at that. She dangled the item from one hand before dropping it onto the ground. All the while I remained focused on her chest. Smooth, creamy skin I knew would feel like satin. Taut, rosy peaks called out for attention.

Her jeans came off next, her thumbs hooking into the waistband and pulling them down inch by inch. Her underwear too! One foot at a time, she removed her socks and her shoes, setting them aside with the rest of her clothes.

I began to feel warm all over, my groin suddenly screaming at me. I reached for her, but she backed away. The smile never left her face. She even winked at me. Who was this woman and what had she been teaching my lover?

Then she ran into the water, laughing as she re-emerged, soaking wet.

What a tease! "Are you sure you're not upset with me," I asked with a groan.

"I will be if you don't get in here."

My pants had never been removed so quickly.

My underwear, shoes and socks followed. I should've let them lay strewn on the ground, but my better nature made sure they were piled semi-neatly. With my stupid compulsion satisfied, I took several steps into the water before attempting a small dive.

When I resurfaced, I was in front of Machi. She was startled, but when that faded, she wrapped her arms around my neck. I pulled her tightly against me, unable to hide my obvious affection. The water may have been cold, but it was nothing compared to the warmth we shared for each other.

Hands and lips went wild. I felt the heat ensnare my body, felt usual tension in my gut. It felt so good to hold her, touch her. Her hair was so soft, her breasts supple, and when she wrapped her legs around my waist, her bottom molded into my grasp. Just having her was drinking fire. I could not possibly get enough.

And judging from her hands neither could she.

Her hands roamed my chest. They moved lower, even as we kissed again. And though our bodies were close, she still managed to touch me intimately and make me moan. Those fingers were like electric charges exploding against swollen skin. It was wonderful.

But it was nothing compared to sweet sensation of her body embracing mine.

I groaned into her ear, her body taking the first step until my hips would stay still no longer. I thrust upward as her hips came downward. The sensation caused her to cry out and shiver in my embrace. I bit my lower lip, overwhelmed by the surge of pleasure. Her name came out as a moan, as she whispered mine over and over.

The pleasure built until we both exploded, physically, mentally and emotionally. Everything I had pent up was released with a surge of my seed and a prolonged moan. Machi shook in my arms, her final scream of pleasure lost on the breeze. I held her tighter as she came, kissing her neck and whispering "I love you," over and over.

"I love you, too," she whispered into my ear.

I had not planned to have sex in the lake, of all places. An oversight on my part. Once my job was finalized, perhaps I would have to buy a house near a lake.

Or with a pool.

"That was...amazing."

Maybe both.

"Just amazing?"

She kissed me. Hard. "I'm at a loss right now. I'll think of something better later."

"Promise?"

"Yes."

I smiled. "Okay."

We spent a moment or two in the lake before untangling ourselves and heading for shore. It was relatively quiet save for the occasional chirping of birds. The waves had picked up a bit, crashing onto the shore. But the night sky remained bright, calm. Cherry blossoms took flight, floating away in the moonlight.

"We should get back," she said. "They might come looking for us."

"I doubt it," I replied, picking up my pants. "But just in case...." I smiled. "What should we do when we get back?"

"I think a warm shower would be nice," she said, rebuttoning her blouse.
"What do you think?"

"I think, that our sleeping arrangements will be changing again," I stated.

"What about your family?"

"What about them?"

For once, I wasn't going to care what they thought, or how they thought I should act. I was going to be me. And if Ayame or Shigure wanted to make fun of that, more power to them.

Especially since they'd end up walking home.
