Greed laid in her bed, an arm behind her head as her other hand rested on her Dash. He curled on her stomach, knowing his master was not in the mood for play. He really did not mind.

Green eyes loomed on the wood ceiling. Transparent rain droplets splattered on the windows, no 6:00pm sky to be found through thick ominous clouds. Lightning flashed, thunder showing off its’ power. Neither Greed nor BlueBell flinched as Raiju roared and crackled in Envy’s room. Why he was not out, they didn’t want to know.

Greed rolled on her side, BlueBell slipping from her flat stomach. She waited for him to crawl on her head, before returning to her unceasing thoughts. She did not want any distractions.

Many things were on her mind. She wanted to speak to her brother about an issue, but was too nervous. He had always had this aura that she did not like. Using instincts around creatures, the girl could tell how a person is. As a homunculus, they each had different feels.

Hearing an organ sing on the floor below her, Greed slowly closed her lashes, deciding to wait for the song to end.

‘Lead Me To The Cavalry’ soared out large organ pipes, Knives’ meticulous white gloved fingers pressing the keys. He kept the last notes extended, sound vibrating the church walls. Slowly, he eased off the ivory keys, resting his palms on his thighs. “What is it, Sister?”

Greed rose from one of the few non-dismembered pews. “Brother, I came to request something. May I ask you a question?”

Knives stood. He motioned for the girl to come near. His bright azure eyes gazed into her charcoal pair. “Yes? I am open ears.”

Greed was forced to tilt her head to look at his face. She hated to, but knew she must meet his gaze with equal force. “Brother, I have not asked this of you yet. Don’t laugh, please.” She watched as he smiled and sat back down on his bench, noting his index finger spelling her name with the assigned notes of the keys.

“You may ask away. I am not like Envy. I may be as demanding, but I listen and care as Wrath does.” He chuckled lightly, still taping the white blocks of G, E, and D. “You, Sister, are a whole different story.”

She thought about his comparison of their other two brothers. “True. Well…..I wanted to……ask if I could……” Brown gloved hands were grasping one another tightly in temptation. “May I attend school?”

Knives stopped. He glanced up at her in utter curiosity. “School?” he staggered.

Greed nodded happily. “Hai! Human children---kids my age learn things there!” she explained in excitement, “They find friends and read, and even have meals together! It’s an amazing place! Really, I wish to go. Brother, you know how much I love to study and education. Please? I can try and trade something for the value of school.” She blinked and unconsciously took a step back as he laughed.

Knives rubbed a hand over his face to help himself calm down. “Gi-Gi, you do not need to trade anything. Equivalent exchange is only during alchemy. Let me ask you, how often do you blend with human kind?” He looked at her to make sure she was not lying.

Greed pondered for a moment. “A lot. I’m the only one who takes Wrath, so we go together often.”

Knives heaved a sigh. He sat strait and patted her raven head. “Greed, you are the smartest one of us, only under me. You do not need an education.”

Ivy eyes peered under his gloved hand as it remained on her head. “Brother…..it is what I want. I really want to go to school.”

Knives could sense the homunculi purpose surface inside her body. Keeping a check on the others, her and Wrath were the only two who never used their born powers. He released her. “As you wish, Greed. If this decision displeases you, then tell me and we shall remain here.”
