"Are you going to answer?" Lilly asked quietly.
"Lilly, you need to sit down." Ed said.
Ed followed Lilly to her bed and they both sat down at the end of it. Ed took both her hands and cleared his voice.
"Lilly, when Celine and I first met we both were very lonly and had no one to talk to. I had Al, but there are some things I just didn't want Al to know since he was a boy and my brother. Celine had her father, but he wasn't a person she wanted to talk to about things that went on in her head, and even though she and I didn't know it at the time, he was a murder."
Before Ed could finish, a knock came at the door. Lilly said come in and Celine walked in, closing the door behind her. She picked up the bear that was on the floor and put it in a chair at Lilly's desk. Celine looked upset and a little confussed. Lilly stood up with an emotionless expression.
"I'm sorry to interrupt, but I wanted to apologize. I didn't know that you and Ed were together and if I did I wouldn't have done what I did. I thought that Ed and I could pick up where we left off before he and I parted." Celine said.
"It's alright, I understand. I'm sorry I blew up back there and I hope that we can put that behind us." Lilly said and smiled.
"Thank you. I saw how much Ed and you care for eachother and I'm sorry I got between that. I only wish that one day I could have that kind of relationship with someone." Cenline said smiling back.
"I thought you and Ed had a relationship in the past?" Lilly said looking confussed. "I thought that's what you were going to tell me, Ed." She looked over at Ed.
"Well not exactly." Ed said scratching the back of his head.
"We had more of a physical relationship, Lilly."Celine said.
"I don't understand." Lilly said. I didn't think you could have a relationship that was only physical. No one has told me about it.
"Ed, how come she doesn't know? I thought you would have told her." Celine said looking at Ed with and evil look.
"I was going to but you walked in and then all this started." Ed objected.
"Will someone please tell me what you two are talking about?" Lilly asked.
"Lilly, please sit down again." Ed asked and Lilly sat beside him again. "You see like I said before, Celine and I were lonly and both of us had a lot going on and well...we started to talk and one thing lead to another and we..."
"Oh boy.." Celine mummbled and sat down in the chair at the desk after picking up Lilly's bear and handing it to her.
Ed took a glimps at Celine the turned back to Lilly who looked confussed.
"Lilly, Celine and I had sex. More than once." Ed said.
Lilly face went pale and her eyes looked shocked. I didn't know you could have sex without being in love. This can't be right.
"Oh..." was all Lilly could get out.
Lilly looked away and held back her tears. This means that Ed had sex before me and I wasn't his first. How many others has he done this with before me? What is this suppost to mean?
"Ed, was she born yesterday? She seems a little clueless about the whole 'sex with someone eles before you' thing. Maybe you should explain more." Celine said.
"To tell the truth she was created this year and she doesn't understand what this means, really." Ed said and took Lilly's hands.
Lilly looked up at Ed and still looked pale.
"What? What do you mean created? What is she, a homunculi?" Celine asked.
"I will explain later, Celine. Right now I have to help Lilly understand." He turned back to Lilly. "Lilly, sometimes when a person wants to have sex, they have sex with someone for fun. But only if they aren't in a relationship. You see, Celine and I had sex for fun and you and I have sex because we love eachother and for fun, it's different." Ed esplained.
"Then why did you do it with her if you didn't love her. I was told that you only do it with someone you love. Your not suppost to if you don't love her." Lilly said shaking her head.
"Lilly, not all people follow that rule. You know that I was searching for the Philosopher Stone and didn't have time for a real relationship. It's in the past now, and that's were it will stay. I don't want you to worry about it. Focus on what we have now."
Lilly's face began to slowly turn into a worried and conserned look.
"But that means that I'm not your first and that I'm not good enough for you." Lilly said still trying to fight back tears.
"No, No!" Ed pulled Lilly to him. "It doesn't mean anything. If anything, it means that I'm not good enough for you since I didn't wait for you."
Then why does it hurt so much?

Lilly and Al sat on the balcony dangling their feet off the side as they watched the State Alchemist pratice. Ed and Celine were side by side so Ed could explain the story behind Lilly without having to shout. Lilly watched and Al explained all that he could about the Alchemy Lilly didn't know about. Lilly nodded and laughed each time one of the Alchemist messed up in a battle and payed the price with a rock or something else smacking them in the head. Lilly looked over at Al who was excited and enjoying the view.
"Al, don't you want to be a State Alchemist, too?" Lilly asked.
"Well, yes, but I don't know if I will pass the exam." Al said.
"I'll be back." Lilly said then shot up and headed back in the door.
"Lilly, where are you going!?!" Al shouted back, but she was already gone.
Lilly ran down the hall and into Mustang's office without knocking. Mustang looked up from his desk work and stood up. Lilly leaned her back on the closed door as she caught her breath. Mustang walked over to her and laughed.
"What could calse you to run down here in such a rush?" Mustang asked and poor Lilly a glass a water.
"I need you to do me a huge favor." Lilly said taking the water from him.
"Sure, whatever I can do to help."
"That's good to know." Lilly smiled.

"Were did Lilly run to?" Ed asked as he and Celine joined Al on the balcony.
"I don't know, she just ran in saying she would be back." Al said and stood up.
Lilly came running out to the balcony with a huge smile. Ed walked over to her and kissed her on the cheek. Lilly smiled bigger.
"Al, Mustang wants to see you in his office right now. It's very important." Lilly said.
"Did I do something wrong?" Al asked walking to her.
"I don't know, go see." Lilly said still smiling.
Al ran inside and Lilly giggled.
"What are you up to?" Ed asked.
"Come on! We are going to miss it!" Lilly said grabbing his hand.
"Miss what?" Celine called as they ran to Mustang's office.
Once they all got there, Lilly ran inside and sat stood in the back with Ed and Celine as Al stood at attention in front of Mustang.
"It has come to my attention that you have been Lilly protector for a while now and have done a good job at it. I know that you couldn't become a State Alchemist in the past due to some difficulties, but now that you have the ablity to take the exam I assume that you will." Mustang said to Al.
"Well, I thought about it, Sir, but I haven't decided yet." Al said.
"You pass." Mustang said. "I will report this to the others and you will be given an State Alchemist name."
"But I haven't done anything to pass." Al said confussed.
"Well, you have been on ever mission with Ed and have saved many people. If you ask me that is more than enough to pass a test." Mustang held out his hand to Al. "Welcome to the team."
"But...how.... I mean thank you, Sir."
"It's all Lilly's doing. She told me that you deserved it and that I should give it to you since you have done so much for this place and for her. If you thank anyone, you should thank Lilly. Now, all of you get out of my office. I have calls to make." Mustang said after shaking Al's hand.
Everyone walked out and Al closed the door behind him. Lilly still had her huge smile on while Ed and Celine were speachless. Al ran over to Lilly and nearly knocked her over with a hug. Lilly giggled.
"Just think of it as a gift for everything you have done for me. I own you more than this, really." Lilly said hugging him back.
"Thank you so much, Lilly! I'm going to go call Winry and tell her!" Al yelled and ran to the phones.
Ed walked over to Lilly and smiled at her.
"I have to say I'm a little jealous. I had to go though the real thing and all you have to do is ask and Al gets it. You sure are one of a kind, Lilly. I don't think Al could be more happier." Ed said.
"Wow, Ed was right. You are a miracal worker." Celine said.
"Maybe now Al can do the things that you can." Lilly said. "Come on let's go make him a cake!"
Lilly ran to the kitchen and Ed droped his smile.
"This isn't good." Ed said.
"Why?" Celine asked.
"Lilly doesn't know anything about cooking."
Celine laughed.
"Then we better catch up to her before she blows up this place."
"Right!" Ed said and ran after Lilly. "Lilly, don't touch anything!!!" He called out as he spotted her down the hall.

Two days later, Al recieved an State Alchemist watch and the name of the Protector Alchemist since he will protect anyone with his Alchemy even if it means risking his life. He loved the name even though it didn't sound very strong. He and Ed began praticing side by side.
