"You did what!?!?!" Mustang yelled.

The whole place shook. Al closed his eyes tight as he stood in attention in front of his commanding officer. He opened his eyes to see Mustang mader than ever before. Everyone stared at them.

"You let her go out there on her own! What were you thinking!?! She isn't in the best condition to be out there in this storm! Why did you let her go?!? Right now she could be coughing up a storm and crying for help! She's probably lost and scared!" Mustang yelled. "What do you have to say for yourself?!?"

Al looked stright ahead at attention. How Mustang found out was beyond him.

"She is fine." Al said and knew it wasn't what Mustang wanted to hear. "I know that if she really wants to get to him, she won't stop for nothing. She could break her legs and still would find a way to keep going. You told us that we couldn't call him. You told us you didn't want her to see him for a while the day that he left. She needs him and he needs her. Did you really think that I was just going to stand by and watch her cry when we both know that she would have left without money or an address? I was just making it easyer for her. We both know that she would have gone anyways." Al turned to face him even though he was not suppost to when he was at attention. "What pisses me off is that you tryed to keep them from eachother! You pretty much band her from seeing him without actually saying it! You had no right and if it means that I have to give up the title of an State Alchemist to help out them, then I would gladly do it again!" Al yelled.

Everyone knew that Al was going to get fired for this and because of his behavior. Mustang was going to kill him. They all pitted him but at the same time, respected him for doing what he thought was right.

Mustang's eyes burned with anger. Al was sure he was going to be in the worst trouble but he didn't care. What he did was done and that was all that mattered. He just hoped that Lilly would find Ed in time.

Mustang suddenly droped his mad look, and started to laugh. Everyone looked shocked. They didn't know what think. Do they laugh with him? Do they get mad? Was he being sarcastic? No one knew. Al look confussed and a little worried. After Mustang stoped laughing, he smiled at Al.

"You know, I kinda knew that you would do this. I knew that somehow Lilly would get out and find him, but I didn't expect it so soon. I guess that you are right. There is no way I can keep them apart. But that doesn't mean you won't get punished." Mustang said then droped his smile. "You will have kitchen duty for three weeks and you will clean this place from top to bottom for a month. Is taht clear?"

"Yes, Sir." Al said looking forward again.

"Now then, I want the rest of you to hunt down Lilly. She could be in trouble or worse. If you find her, report back to me, but if she is fine, don't let her see you. I want her to do this on her own. Now go!" Mustang ordered and everyone scattered.

Mustang patted Al on the shoulder and whispered in his ear.

"Never yell at me again or you will not be an State Alchemist any longer..."

Mustang walked away and Winry ran up to Al. Al relaxed and looked at her.

"We are going to find her before anyone else does." Al said.

Winry nodded.

E d looked Celine in the eyes. She was so happy and excited and he knew it. They were waiting for him to say his vows, but nothing came out. Celine smiled at him then brushed his cheek. Ed smiled back weakly and began.

----------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------

Almost there! I have to make it! Please legs, don't give up on me! I have to make it! Suddenly the bells of the clock tower began to ring. 4:00. NO!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------

Ed looked over at the doors once more. He stoped in the middle of his vows and waited as if something was going to happen.

"Ed?" Celine asked.

Ed looked at her. She was now full of consern.

"Celine, I..."

Celine smiled and tears poured from her eyes. She made no sound. She brushed his cheek again.

"You don't love me. I know this." Celine began and was still smiling as her tears covered her face as the rain hit the ground outside. "You don't want to marry me. I can see it everytime you smile. You are never smiling out of happiness, you smile out of pitty and because you think you have to. I don't want you to do this."

Ed looked at her and then looked away.

"I'm sorry. I love Lilly, and I always will. I can't marry someone I don't love. I can't marry you." Ed whispered.

Celine droped his hands and made him face her.

"Then we will be friends and that's all I need." Celine said through her smile and tears.

Ed nodded then smiled.....this time Celine knew it was real.

------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------------------

Lilly run up the front steps of the court house. Her legs collapsed under her and she fell to her knees. The ran hit her skin as she cryed. Her body was exhausted and needed rest, but she was determinded. She had to get up. She had to before it was to late.

She looked up at the court house door knob. She took hold of it and pulled herself up. Once on her feet she steadyed herself then turn the knob. Thunder stuck and the lightning flashed.

Ed and Celine turned to the door as it swung open. A stong gust of wind blew in. Lilly looked up, out of breath. Ed's eyes widened. Lilly looked over at him as their eyes met.

"Am....I....too....late...." Lilly whispered.

Her voice would go no louder but somehow Ed had heard. His heart pounded so hard that it began to hurt.

"No, your not." Celine called back and took Ed off guard. Celine looked over at Ed. "She looks sick, go get her before she collapse."

Ed nodded then took a step forward. He suddenly relized that he didn't want to walk...he wanted to run to her. And that's what he did. He took off towards her. Lilly smiled and let go of the door knob. She took one step forward and her legs gave out again. She began to fall forward, but she never stoped smiling. She felt something catch her before she hit the ground. Ed sat kneeled down with her in his arms. She looked up at him.

Ed smiled then his smile fadded. Lilly's lips were blue, her cheeks white, her skin cold, her body shaking, her eyes teary, and her hair and clothes soaked. She brought her hand up to Ed's face.

"You look so handsome in your tux." LIlly smiled. "I'm so glad I'm not late...."

Ed laded her on the ground and took off his tux jacket. He wraped Lilly in it then picked her up. He turned to face the judge.

"Where is the hospital here?" Ed yelled.

---------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------

Al looked down at Lilly as she layed in her bed. She had been asleep for three days. They brought her back after they found her and Ed in the hospital. Ed had not left her side since he brought her there. Celine had came back with them and was expecting the baby in a few weeks. For some reason though she had been coughing a lot latly and even passed out a few times, but she refussed to see the doctor. Ed insisted but she told him if he didn't leave her alone, she would go back home. Ed keep his mouth shut since then.

Ed walked in the room and smiled at Al. He was brushing Lilly's hair back while Ed left to check on Celine. He walked over to the bed and Al turned to face him.

"Today she will wake up." Ed said.

"You say that everyday, Brother." Al laughted.

"But today is different, I can feel it."

Al laughted again, but was taken by surprise when only two hours later, Lilly opened her eyes. She sat up from bed and smiled. Her color had returned and so had her smile, it was weak but a least it was there. Al smiled at her and then Ed embrassed her. Lilly pushed him back. Her smile fadded. Without warning, Lilly slaped the hell out of Ed. Al took a few steps back as Ed held his cheek and looked at Lilly, confussion writen all over his face. Lilly began to let her eyes water. Ed's face changed to understanding.

He relized that Lilly now understands that Celine was pregant wih his child, he almost married her, and it scared the hell out of her. He knew that it still scares the hell out of her.

Lilly looked at him in the eyes then threw her arms around him. Her body shook as she cryed harder but not making a sound. Ed wraped his arms around her and closer his eyes. Al left the room to tell the others she woke, but to also tell them then not the disturb her and Ed.

Lilly's tears hit Ed's shoulder. He pulled her closer as he whispered that he was sorry and that he loved her. Lilly just listened and cryed harder. Ed rubbed her back to comfort her. Lilly pulled away and looked him in the eyes.

"You said you would never leave me. You were going to. You were going to leave be behind, even though I couldn't remember." Lilly whispered.

"I didn't think that...."

Lilly cut him off.

"You made a promise. Once again you have broken a promise. I should hate you. I should forget about you, but when I was out there in that storm, the only thing I could think of was seeing your face again. I wanted to see you and stop you from marrying her. I wanted to....I wanted to....." She stoped whispering. "I wanted to be the one that was marrying you and having your baby!!!" She yelled.

It took Ed by surprise but in a way he was hopeing that she would say that.

------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------------------

Lilly and Ed walked down the stairs to Celine who was sitting on a chair. She looked up at them and began to stand.

"Please don't stand." Lilly said smiling.

Celine sat back down and looked up at them. Lilly walked in front of her, her smile still as bright as ever.

"May I?" She asked.

Celine smiled and nodded. Lilly kneeled and placed her hand on Celine's stomack. Ed looked over at Celine and smiled too.

"Lilly wanted to ask if she could be part of the baby's life as well." Ed said.

"I would love that." Celine said.

Lilly didn't say anything. Ed looked over at her and saw that her smile was gone and that she seemed to be studying something.

"Lilly?" Ed asked.

Lilly didn't answer.

Celine looked at Lilly and then at Ed.

Lilly moved her hand over Celine's stomack then placed the other hand on it as well.

"Lilly, what is it?" Celine asked.

"Something's wrong." Lilly simple said. Celine gasped. "The baby isn't breathing, and it doesn't have a heart beat."

Ed looked at Lilly.

"What do you mean? How can you posibly be able to tell that?" Celine said laughing.

"We all know that I can do a lot of things. I can hear your heart beat very clearly and your breathing is normal. But the baby....it's just not right. I know I am right. Aren't you suppost to go to the doctor when you are pregant for check ups? That's what Ed told me."

Ed looked at Celine angrly. Celine turned her head.

"Lilly, go tell Al to get a car ready, we are taking Celine to the hospital." Ed said helping Celine up.
