Chapter Five: The Assault

After a week of planning Roy and Edger where ready to make their assault. Roy was going over the notes once more as Edger stood over the stove cooking some stew.

 

“How are we going to get in the underground city again?” Roy asked, he was still looking at the notes and didn't notice when Edger came and leaned over his shoulder.

 

“There is a church three to four blocks away from Central Headquarters,” He said pointing to the map that was unfurled on the coffee table.

 

“Inside that churches alter is a secret passage way that leads to the Underground City, how did you leave?” Edger asked after pointing out the route again.

 

“There's an exit tunnel on the north side of the city, everyone enters and exits there so that's why I asked for an alternate route. When I walked out I was considered an exile and they wouldn't let me back in.” Roy told him and Edger smiled. He placed a kiss on Roy's neck and Roy shivered.

 

“How is it you make me feel this way?” Roy said as he looked up at Edger. Edger smiled down at him.

 

“I told you, destiny has brought us together and let no man rip us apart.” Edger told him. Roy had never really believed Edger at first, then gradually as he grew fond of the boy, no man…he realized that it was completely true. They way that Edger's body molded so well with his…they way that they fought playfully but never really enough to damage the other person's feelings personally. The way that Edger looked at him like he was the only other person in the world…made him feel like he was floating and on fire at the same time. He rose up a bit to kiss Edger on the lips. The heatedness of their kiss got too much for Roy to bare so he stood up and pulled Edger over the couch to [i]properly[/i] kiss him. Edger chuckled as Roy quickly found himself [b]man[/b] to [b]man[/b] with Edger's erection. Edger chuckled again as he rubbed his manhood against Roy's electing a delicious moan from the Vampire. Roy looked at Edger with a smirk that said [i]I know what you're up to.[/i] Edger sent his reply with a ferocious kiss that said [i]Oh really?[/i] Roy arched up as Edger ran his hand up his torso and pinched one of his nipples. Edger took that to his advantage and pushed Roy until he was on top. Roy flinched. He'd never been taken before he was usually the one doing the giving. He looked up into Edger's eyes.

 

“Don't worry, I'll be gentle, I know what you're thinking. Trust me, please?” Roy immediately relaxed letting Edger's arms to wrap around his waist. He pulled the vile of oil he carried with him and Roy rose an eyebrow and chuckled. He placed it down next to Roy and began to undress him. once Roy's clothes where gone Roy couldn't help but help Edger take off his as well. Both of them where completely nude and Roy looked into the blonde's mismatched eyes. Edger smiled gently and took the vile from where he had placed it and opened it. He poured out a good amount of the liquid and smoothed his fingers with it. He placed one hand on Roy's stomach while the other circled Roy's entrance. Roy tensed when he felt the digit enter him but he quickly relaxed.

 

[i]Edger said to trust him and trust him I will.[/i] Roy thought as the finger was pumped in and out. Roy winced slightly when a second was added. Edger started scissoring the fingers to stretch him. When he felt that it was safe to add a third finger, he did and Roy clenched his eyes from the pain. Edger felt Roy's body tighten at the intrusion but his rubbed Roy's erection with his hand to calm him down. Soon Roy was relaxed and Edger pumped all three inside. When he curled his finger searching for that spot, Roy saw stars and shouted out. Edger smiled as he pulled all of his fingers out of Roy and slicked himself up. Roy looked up into Edger's eyes when he felt the blonde's cock touch his entrance. Then he nodded as in an unspoken word of consent. That was all Edger needed and he slowly began to push himself inside the brunet. Roy was so tight Edger was having trouble breathing as he tried to control himself from exploding before it began. He shut his eyes until he was fully seated inside the Vampire. Roy was shuddering and breathing labored. Edger was inside him. the feeling of being filled alone was enough for his body to want to come hard and the only thing holding himself back was Edger's own labored breath. Edger wiped sweat off his brow as he waited for Roy to adjust. When Edger feel Roy relax around him he started a rhythm. Both of them where moaning in ecstasy. Edger quickened his pace when he felt the tension building. He reached down and stroked Roy's member in time with his thrusts. They were screaming in unison now, words barely understandable as they rose to the brink of insanity and beyond. One last scream…a shiver…and tears filled Edger's vision. He collapsed on Roy's chest sobbing uncontrollably. Roy was sedated for a moment then completely confused at Edger's reaction to the most mind blowing orgasm that either of them had had. At first Roy was hesitant at wrapping his arms around Edger's shaking form but he soon found that comfort was better than nothing. Edger was shivering from both the orgasm and the tears that found themselves in his eyes. Roy was speechless and upset. Edger knew everything about him but he knew nothing about Edger.

 

“Ed, what's wrong?” Roy asked him as Edger lay on his chest. The blonde shifted then looked up into Roy's onyx colored eyes. For a moment he thought he saw both of Edger's eyes flash Amber, but it had been a mirage. Sapphire and slate looked at him with both fear and sorrow.

 

“Edger why won't you tell me what's wrong?” Edger smiled and ran his hand down Roy's face and left it on his jaw.

 

“For a grain of wheat to reproduce, the wheat must first die,” Edger told him and let his head rest on Roy's shoulder. Roy was shocked. Yet another puzzle that Edger had given him and it didn't make any since. Roy sighed. It would take him forever to figure this one out.

The fight was easy; the prior king knew nothing of how to use alchemy. Roy killed him by setting him aflame. It was a great feeling…power and glory flowed from Roy at the crowning. Edger watched him from a distance…he knew his fate was sealed before he ever met the Righter. A single solitary tear made its way down Edger's face as he looked down at the letter addressed to Roy. It was written in his sloppy scrawl but Roy could understand it. He looked one last time at Roy then turned to leave. Roy watched Edger walking towards the balcony. He followed him down through the crowed of Vampires and Liken alike until he came face to face with his lover.

 

“Edger I did it, I fixed the alteration in history! We can be together now at last,” He said as he cupped Edger's face. Edger was crying. He refused to look up into Roy's eyes.

 

“Edger, what's wrong?” Roy asked. Edger smiled sweetly with tears steaking his face as he handed Roy the letter. Then he started convulsing and fell onto the floor.

 

“Edger!” Roy shouted at the top of his lungs as he bent down and cradled his lover.

 

“Roy…it was meant to end this way…don't forget me…” Edger choked out as blood poured out of his mouth.

 

“Edger no, please don't talk like this, let me turn you! Edger! Please don't die!” Roy said with tears starting to sting his eyes.

 

“Can you see them Roy? The Dragonflies, there are so many of them…” Edger closed his eyes as his final words sunk into Roy's thoughts.

 

“[b][i]NO!!![/b][/i]” Roy screamed he held Edger's lifeless body in his arms as he burrowed his head into his neck.

Roy took a long drink out of the bottle of Bourbon he held in his hand. In the other was the letter that Edger had given him before he had died. He had read it ten times already and he didn't feel like reading it again. He watched as the sun rose in the east. The delicate shades of red, violet, and blue…the grey that mixed in with them was mesmerizing as Edger's eyes had been. He looked down at the letter one more time.

 

[b][i]Roy,

 

I'm sorry it has to end this way, but I have no say in it. If it were up to me, I would gladly live my life with you be with you forever…but that cannot be. Once the Alteration is righted the Reader must die so that the remembrance of the event is forgotten…why this is I do not know. If you would have asked me to, I would have flew to the heavens and plucked a star from its place to give it to you. Don't forget the time we had together though it was short, I was mesmerized by every moment I got to spend with you. Like I said, in order for a grain of wheat to reproduce, the wheat must first die. So don't you dare forget about me, I have a feeling that we will be seeing each other again…just watch for the dragonflies.
