“And so, I'm going where?” Johanna demanded in a scoff of disbelief, looking over the handful of photo's laying on the table before her.
”Central. To work for the Military.” Kimbly said calmly taking a swig of whisky.
”Central. To work for the Military.” Kimbly said calmly taking a swig of whisky.
“No.” she replied firmly.
”No?”
”You heard me, I won't go.”
”No?”
”You heard me, I won't go.”
“You're going. It isn't negotiable.”
Johanna glared at Kimbly and stood to leave. “It's been nice Kimbly, seeing you again and all but I have a life now.” She said putting on her coat and walking towards the door of their private room.
Johanna glared at Kimbly and stood to leave. “It's been nice Kimbly, seeing you again and all but I have a life now.” She said putting on her coat and walking towards the door of their private room.
“Heh…” a small chuckle escaped from Kimbly's mouth.
Johanna stopped. Keep going! She thought, ignore him!
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” she turned towards him and sighed, a beaten woman. Kimbly stood and cracked his neck, wearing one of his signature smirks. He stood before her and chuckled again. Johanna mirrored his smirk but with a bit more malice in her eyes. Kimbly looked her over. A chill ran down her spine as he traced her jaw line with his thumb. She sighed heavily and moved her chin away.
“Look at me.” He said. Johanna slowly glared towards him. “You're going.” He said grimly fingering her neck again, taking a slowly tightening grip. “And don't worry,” He added in a lighter manner, his thumb passing over her bottom lip, Johanna's flesh crawling with slight pleasure, “I'll make it fun for you.” With that, he turned and picked up his own coat and hat. “You start Thursday, and you'll be briefed on all procedures there.”
“Wait.” Johanna called, “And what is it — what is it that I'll be doing there?”
“Well Jo, I suppose you'll have to find out there.” He replied taking his leave.
“But it's only Wednesday!” Johanna protested, alas, he was gone.
Johanna stood there just how she entered, in a state of disbelief.
“What the hell have I gotten myself into…” she sighed leaving.
------
“So this is the infamous `Central'?” Johanna said looking up at the building in awe as the morning sun gleamed. “Hmm.” She said shrugging her shoulders and walking up the stairs into the main building.
“Ex-ex-excuse me miss…” a nervous voice came from behind her. Johanna turned to see a man cowering in fear at her feet.
“What are you doing? Are you alright sir?” she asked franticly. The man looked up and around towards her and gave a shy smile as he stood.
“I'm sorry, it's just that I've had such bad luck trying to find you today!” the man said scratching his neck, “You wouldn't believe how many times I've been beaten and bruised by —“
“Ummmm! You know…uhh...” Johanna interrupted a bit flustered, “Uhh…well, my name is Johanna Hanamachi.” She said sticking out her hand. The man smiled and took her hand.
“I'm Kain, Kain Fuery.” The man was not too tall and wore thick black rimmed glasses. His hair was dark as the night sky and his eyes were a deep brown. He had a light air to him as he let go of her hand equally as nervous looking. “So this is Central…I—I—I'm supposed to show you around after you meet with umm…Colonel—ummm…hem…Colonel…Mustang.” He said with much difficulty. Kain laughed nervously and walked ahead of Johanna. She followed quickly, slowing only to gaze upon the glory of the halls. Up several flights of stairs and around several corridors later, Kain stopped in front of a door and knocked, but then opened it. “Colonel Sir, it's Kain, I've got the new mail lady.”
“WHAT?!?” Johanna shirked scaring Kain stalk straight.
“Oh yes, send her in.” a fairly deep voice said from beyond the door. Johanna tried to calm herself as much as possible, cleared her throat and walked in. The ring of a phone being hung up danced around the fairly empty room. Sitting at the desk to which the phone belonged, was the man who Johanna knew as Colonel Roy Mustang: The Flame Alchemist.
He's more handsome in person she thought, smirking at the thought.
“Thank you Kain, wait outside the door please while I talk with Ms. Hanamachi.” Mustang said staying seated behind a large desk.
Kain shut the door and Johanna and the Colonel were alone for the first time. The two took a long moment to look each other over. Mustang sat with his chin rested on his gloved hands, with a serious look on his face. Johanna stood near the door across from his desk with a blank but serene look on her cocked head. Suddenly, a smirk grew on his lips and he spoke. “Ms. Hanamachi, as the new mail lady you are responsible with many important documents and you, being the middle man…woman, become important when with those documents.” He said writing something, “Therefore, you will be staying on these quarters, here at Central, so that you can work efficiently.” Johanna nodded keeping her hands at her side. “This afternoon you will meet your `big brother or sister'. They will show you around the rest of the halls and help you get acquainted with Central. You are to follow them and do as instructed. Do I make myself clear?” he asked. Johanna nodded, “Yes, Sir.”
“It's Colonel.”
“Yes, Colonel.”
“Your actual work won't start until Monday so you'll have enough time to get a deep understanding of military procedures. Here.” He said holding out an envelope.
“Thank you Sir.” Johanna quickly took the envelope and turned to leave.
“Johanna,” Colonel said firmly. She stopped in her tracks, her hand on the doorknob.
“Sir?” she asked. There was a rustle from behind her and then footsteps of the Colonel slowly walking closer. He placed a hand on her shoulder.
“It's Colonel.” Mustang said, a few finger's straying up her neck. Johanna could hear him smirking. His other hand covered her's on the doorknob gently, sat there for only a slight moment, and turned the knob.
“Thank you for being patient Fuery.” Mustang said walking back to his desk.
“No problem Colonel!” Kain said closing the door behind Johanna.
“Colonel's a strict man upfront, but he has a nice side. Really! The more you get to know him, the looser he'll be with you. He's a great leader. I've been under his command for a long time now and I really —“
“Sooooo Fuery…” Johanna interrupted, well aware of his ability to go on and on.
“Ms. Hanamachi?”
“Colonel said something about me staying here. Where are my quarters?” Johanna inquired as they began walking to a new destination.
“Oh! Umm...well, I won't be showing you. That's a job for your `Big Sister'.”
“Colonel mentioned that too. Who is she?”
“Ms. Riza Hawkeye.”
“Sounds vicious.” Johanna laughed.
“Well, just, I wouldn't get on her bad side. She works pretty close to the Colonel too.”
“I'm sure she does…” Johanna murmured with a grin.
“What?” Kain asked still smiling.
“Nothing.”
“Ok then, well you're supposed to wait here. She'll be around shortly.” Kain said pointing to a bench at the corner of a hallway. “It's been nice meeting you and I hope you're here for a while. You know, so you can get acquainted with everyone. Actually, there's —“
“It's been nice meeting you too Kain, thanks.” Johanna said shaking his hand and taking a seat. Kain smiled and left.
The hall was fairly empty. The light conversation and footsteps echoed in her ears. Johanna sat thinking over her present situation. She sighed and tilted her head back. “Kimbly, I swear you'll be the death of me…” she said quietly.
“Hello ma'ma.”
Johanna shot up in surprise. Standing in front of her was a man in the standard blue military uniform. He had an interesting hair style and a cigarette handing out of the corner of his mouth. “Havoc. Jean, Havoc.” The man said removing his cigarette, taking her hand, and giving it a light kiss before replacing his cigarette again. “I'm filling in for Hawkeye. So I'm going to be your big brother for a bit.”
Johanna rubbed her hand where he had kissed it. “I'm Johanna Hanamachi.” She said cautiously. The man called Havoc smirked.
“We don't get woman in here often,” He said honestly as they started to walk “So some of the guys might be a little tough on you.”
“In more ways than one right?” Johanna asked with a light laugh.
Havoc laughed too. “Yeah, I guess.” He replied.
Havoc was a nice guy Johanna figure after a few hours with him. A little touchy but nice. No later than 8 he dropped her off to her room. Johanna felt she had a relatively good grasp on the building and procedures after attending several training sessions and reading several pamphlets.
“So this is your room.” Havoc said handing her a set of three keys. “This one is your room key, this one is a skeleton key for this building, and this one is a duplicate of your room key.” Havoc, having finished another cigarette, lit another and added to Johanna's astonishment that it really is possible to smoke your self to death.
“If you have any questions or need anything my room is two doors down and your neighbors are the Elrics'” he said pointing to the left, “and…well…no one.” He finished with a laugh. “Good night Ms. Hanamachi.” Johanna nodded
“Sleep well Havoc.” She said as he walked down the hall. Johanna opened the door to her new room and found it was quite empty. Two beds, a desk, a small couch, a few chairs, three windows, and only one light connected to a squeaky ceiling fan.
“That Havoc was a bit too friendly if you ask me.” A voice said.
A closet door opened and out stepped a man.
“Who are you?” Johanna asked, only slightly stunned.
The man grinned and then too a deep bow.
“Call me Greed.” The fellow said approaching her, “and this one” he continued petting Johanna's cheek, “must be Ms. Hanamachi.”
Johanna slapped his hand away. “Kimbly sent you didn't he...” she said looking him over, “A homunculus...”
“What of it?” the man asked disdainfully as he sat down on the small couch in the middle of the room.
“So Kimbly's finally taken a liking to your kind…” she said.
“Not all of them.” A lazy voice came from beyond the closet. Johanna's eyes shot over to the small area. Out stepped a woman this time, not as tall as Greed, she had relatively short dark brown hair and a sort of light-ebony skin tone. “Just Greed.” The woman added.
“Ah, Olivia,” Greed chuckled, “I was wondering if you were going to come out at all.”
“And miss Kimbly's little friend? Never!” the woman named Olivia laughed as she walked over and stretched out across the couch. Greed kissed her foot and she touched his cheek with a smile. He bit her finger gently, the two playing off of each others motions. Johanna watched in partial disgust.
“Yeah, ok that's great and all, but I want to know what you two are doing here.” Johanna said leaning against a wall with her arms folded.
“Like you said...” Greed replied.
“Kimbly sent us.” Olivia finished. The two were still flirting profusely and it was honestly making Johanna sick. She rolled her eyes.
“Well then where is he?” she asked curtly trying not to look at the two.
Greed was basically on top of Olivia now; her arms wrapped around his neck and his hands on passing over various parts her. She was chuckling as he nipped as her neck. Greed seemed to be whispering something to her too. Again Johanna rolled her eyes and spoke.
“Could you two…umm…stop please. Really, it's getting…”
But they didn't stop. Johanna wasn't even sure that they heard her.
“Go next door. To the right.” Greed murmured from Olivia's neck.
Johanna did so happily. She left the room and locked the door behind her. There was a sudden thud that came from the door that made Johanna jump back.
“EW!” she said shuddering in disgust no even fathoming what might be going on in there. Johanna picked out her skeleton key and went into the next room.
“You took long enough.”
Johanna barely entered before she heard those words. She grinned and closed the door. A body slammed against hers immediately as the light from the hallway left and darkness encompassed the room. Johanna dropped her keys and two hands pinned her arms to the doorway. A pair of warm lips began to grope her neck firmly. Johanna relaxed a bit and smiled,
“Kimbly…” Johanna said gently.
There was no verbal response, but she could hear him smirking in her ear. His hand slipped down her arms and fell to her thigh and face. He flipped her onto a nearby wall with a light thump and continued to kiss her neck and chest. Johanna placed her hands at his chest, ready push him off but couldn't. He wasn't just overpowering, but she honestly didn't want to.
“Kimbly…” she said, “please…” in a whisper.
His hand slipped down her body and quickly under her shirt. Johanna pushed him with a bit more force that made him grin as he continued to play with her. She pushed again and he pushed back harder. Johanna groaned when he bit into her neck.
“Kimbly I don't want to, please…”
A soft, deep growling noise boiled out of Kimbly's throat, like a foaming dog. Johanna began to tremble. She closed her eyes and bit her lip. This didn't seem to faze Kimbly at all. Why should it? He had always been a cruel sort. Kimbly's grip became tighter and his hands became very warm on Johanna's skin. He held her waist even tighter and Johanna let out a yelp. Kimbly began to laugh, very quietly.
“Fuck.” He said simply, a trace of laughter in his voice. Kimbly's hands dropped and he released her. Johanna stood there as if he still had her pinned to a wall, cowering in fear. Kimbly chuckled again. “Damn-it.” He cursed. Kimbly slammed his open palm into the bit of wall directly next to Johanna's head. She screamed. “Leave.” Kimbly growled in her ear, “Now.” Johanna quickly felt for the door and left the room in a hurried flush. She closed the door with a very loud bang that boomed through the empty hall. Suddenly the door opened and her keys flew towards the opposite wall. The door closed again with the same definition as before.
