Never Mended
Pairing: Roy/Ed if I hazarded a guess
Rated: Let's say R for now, may increase later
Warnings: Don't know yet. Perhaps minor spoilers? More DT than AU.
Author's note: I have no idea where this is going. All I know is that I was inspired by the first sentence (which came from one of those staring at the wall moments) and knew I had to write something to go with it. Hope it turns out ok. The only thing that I'm sure of so far is that Roy and Ed end up together and that sometime somewhere in the not so recent past Ed was raped by someone(s)…. That's all I guess. I lean toward being semi-helpless on the other side.
Disclaimer: Fanfiction. Let's break it down people. Fan: someone who likes something bunches. Fiction: not true. As in I just made something up. As it is fanfiction, not owner fiction, that sort of implies that I don't own it, ne?

Prelude
Edward Elric could admit when he was wrong. He could even apologize when necessary. After all, he was a man wasn't he? An average sized gentleman trapped in a world of giants. He had gone and returned through the gate, served in the military since he was eleven, and attempted human transmutation even before that. Edward Elric knew who and what he was. And right now he was bored.
Alphonse gritted his teeth when his brother sighed for the fifteenth time in the past ten minutes. He'd been counting. Every time he'd managed to immerse himself in the alchemical text he was reading, his brother sighed, and Al's concentration scattered to the four winds. Scattering to the winds was exactly what was going to happen to his brother if he si—
“huuhaaaaaa”
“That's it!” Al slammed the cover shut with a bang and leaped up from the couch on which he and his brother sat. “Get out! Go look at flowers, annoy the grass. ANYTHING, as long as you do it somewhere else!”
Wounded golden eyes fixed on his more copper colored ones. Al's tall lanky physique towered over his brother's more petite frame and Edward shrank back from the obvious fury that was being directed at him. Al instantly backed down, but it didn't seem to matter. Ed was trapped in the cycle of the past. His pupils dilated until only a slight ring of gold showed and he reached out a trembling hand. “Don't… please.”
“Niisan.” Al gently touched Ed's shoulder and the smaller boy flinched away as though he'd been struck. Fortunately, the touch managed to shock him out of his memories even as he scuttled back away from his brother.
“Don't, Al. Just don't.” The blonde heaved a great shuddering breath and turned away to hide his shame.
Yes. Edward Elric knew what he was: seventeen, former military dog, and broken.
