Chapter Five: Rebirth of the Dragonfly

Roy was frozen with fear. Had he heard right? That was defiantly her voice, but that was imposable she was dead.

 

“Well well well, the mighty Flame Alchemist is speechless,” All three men looked over at Terri's body. Evil laughter filled the air and it rose like it was possessed its head back. When the face came into view violet cat eyes and a wicked grin greeted them.

 

“You can't be Homunculi! How can you use Alchemy if you were Homunculi?” Roy shouted at her.

 

“Dear Roy, we played you like a fiddle, Terri WAS human you dope, she just wasn't all human. You see Terri didn't tell you the part where she died and her father brought her back to life did she, or the fact that she came back half homunculi?” Then the Homunculi looked over at Edward.

 

“And she tried to save you from this by lying about how she got her Automail, Terri was too soft so she had to go,” She directed to Edward.

 

“So, what do you want with us?” Edward asked Greed.

 

“Simple, I want to make the Philosopher's Stone and become an immortal GOD!!!”

 

“That's not going to happen, you can't kill Roy you love him,” a different voice came out of the Homunculi's mouth.

 

“Shut up you whore, this doesn't concern you,” Greed spout out. Everyone was confused. Who was she talking to? Then it hit Roy like a ton of bricks. She was talking to Terri, so she was still in there.

 

“Terri can you hear me? Fight her!” Roy shouted. The Homunculi lunged toward Roy in a rage and kicked him in the face.

 

“Shut your mouth you filthy dog!” She hissed at him. In Terri's mind two figures stood talking to each other.

 

You love him admit it, why won't you just join with me already and we can love him together…

 

Do you honestly think he will love you after this? There is no way in hell he would. I wouldn't…besides what happened to becoming an immortal God?

 

First off that was your idea, I wanted to become human, so you let me try it out, we were doing fine until those abominations turned me into you, now we are separate again.

 

Whatever, I still want to become a God and nothing is going to stop me.

 

I really didn't want you to disappear but it looks like I have no choice.

 

“Drain the Stone!” Shouted Terri from the Homunculi's lips.

 

“Bitch! Do you really think you can kill me, you would die too?” Edward had made a move to do as Terri had said but he stopped when Greed said that.

 

To save my love I would give up my life…

 

“You love him that much?” Came the quiet almost unheard reply from the Homunculi.

 

“What good I a long life if you have no one to share it with?” Everyone was shocked from the last words that came out of her mouth. They didn't know if that last sentence was from Terri or Greed.

 

“Do you love her?” Came a quite question from Greed.

 

“What?” Roy asked baffled by what this creature was saying. Had it lost its mind?

 

“Do you LOVE her?” The Homunculi shouted.

 

“Yes,” came the immediate reply.

 

“Would you die for her?” It asked him.

 

“Yes,” thoughtful at first then he replied.

 

“I'll ask one more time, bastard, would you give your life in exchange for hers?” Greed growled at him.

 

“Yes!” Roy shouted at her.

 

“Then she is yours,” with that the Homunculi started convulsing violently. It spat up a red liquid on the ground and fell forward into Roy's arms.

 

You didn't have to give your life for me…

 

Like you said, immortality is nothing without someone to share it with… good bye Terri, enjoy your new life… and with that the Homunculus in Terri's mind disappeared and she saw nothing but darkness.

 

 

When she woke there was a bright light and the smell of anesthetics assaulted her nostrils.

 

Am I in a Hospital? Terri thought to herself.

 

Greed!!! Greed where are you? Did she give herself up so I could live and be content with Roy? Terri groaned when she tried to sit up.

 

“Terri, are you alright?” came a familiar voice. She turned her head in that direction and saw Roy sitting on the chair next to her bed.

 

“Where am I?” she rasped out to him. He took his hand from her hand and tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

 

“You're in Central City Hospital, when you didn't wake up I was afraid I'd lost you…how are you feeling?” he said as he kissed her gently on the lips.

 

“Well I feel like a train wreck,” She told him and he smiled.

 

“Did Greed sacrifice herself for you?” He asked her and she turned to look at the wall.

 

“So you're not mad at me for not telling you?” She asked.

 

“No, I'm sure I would have freaked out, but I'm happy the way it has ended.” Roy said as he kissed her again.

 

“And Roy did it all by himself I mean you should have seen it!” came a voice from the other side of the door. That would be Maes.

 

“Now hold on a sec, I helped too!” Came Edward's oh to distinctive growl. When the door opened three people walked in. Edward Maes and someone at first Terri didn't recognize. The it hit her.

 

“Sister how are you feeling?” the man asked her.

 

“David! I'm so glad you're alright!” Terri told him.

 

“I'm more concerned about you right now, but I've been alright. I went to stay with Uncle Frank in West City. When I heard about what happened I came straight here to find you.” He walked around the side of the bed and hugged his sister.

 

“Thank you, for taking everything, I don't know if I could have lived with myself if he had done those things to me…” He whispered in Terri's ear.

 

“I'm just thankful you're alright,” She told him.

 

“Alright everyone, two visitors at a time,” came the voice of Terri's doctor.

 

“Maes and Edward do you mind if I talk to Terri and David alone?” Roy asked them. Edward scowled but walked out the door and Maes shrugged his shoulders.

 

“Who's this Terri?” David asked his sister.

 

“I should be asking that…” Roy said as he looked at Terri for answers.

 

“David, this is my Lover Brigadier General Roy Mustang, Roy this is my little brother David Stone.” Terri introduced them.

 

“So you finally settled down to just one huh, and a General no less.” David laughed.

 

“That's alright little brother, just wait till I get out of this bed, you owe me a sparing match!” Terri said as waved her fist in his face. All three laughed at that.

 

“Well, I have to go back to the office so Hawkeye doesn't shoot me, David it was nice meeting you.” He said as he got up.

 

“Nice meeting you too, so sister who is the blond is he another one of your lovers?” David joked.

 

“No he's Winery's his childhood friend.” She winked at him.

 

“I heard that and it's not funny!” Edward shouted from outside the door. They laughed and Roy drug Maes and Edward back to Central Headquarters.

 

“So, where have you been? What have you been doing all these years?” Terri asked him.

 

“Well I lived with Uncle Frank for a while, then I came here and started an Alchemy shop, you?”

 

“After you left I ran off to the war in Ishval, after that I went to Xing to practice medicine so I could cure the `Silent Killer'.” She told him as she sat up.

 

“And after that you came here and found Roy? Geez you work fast!” That remark earned him a slap on the shoulder.

 

“But seriously, will I be looking forward to the Dragonfly retiring?” He asked and she nodded her head.

 

“There has only been one I've truly loved.” She told him.

 

“Sorry to interrupt but Dr. Stone will be released tomorrow and I'm afraid that visiting hours are over,” Came the voice of a young nurse. She was average height and had short blond hair and green eyes.

 

“Good night little brother,” She said as she leaned up and kissed him on the cheek.

 

“Good night sister.” With that he stood up from the chair he had been sitting and left. She stared at the ceiling for an hour until she drifted off to sleep.
