A month went by without anyone's notice. They only spoke to each other as needed. He would go to work and she would stay home and read. It was Saturday and Roy was home for the weekend when Jay couldn't take the silence any longer.
“Roy!” She shouted from where she was sitting. Roy was in his study and rushed to see what was wrong. When he saw that everything was alright except for the cold glare Jay was giving him he sighed in relief.
“Don't scare a person like that!” He said holding his heart.
“We need to talk, why have you been ignoring me?” She glared at him. He sighed again and ran his hands through his hair.
“I haven't been ignoring you. I've just been really busy lately.” He told her as he sat down in the chair across from her.
“Bullshit,” She called his bluff. He looked at her and they locked eyes.
“What's the real reason Roy?” Her glare turned into a frown softening her appearance.
“I saw you,” He started; this made Jay raise an eyebrow.
“I saw you kissing a guy a month ago,” Roy told her and Jay's frown deepened.
“Roy,” she started softly and sat the book down that she had been reading earlier.
“You should have known that I wasn't interested in you, yeah you're a hot guy, but you're 14 years older than me.” She told him. He looked like he was about to say something when she raised a finger to silence him.
“Russell Tringham has been my boyfriend since I was 12, we have been sending letters to each other ever since. I saw him in a book store when Edo and I went shopping so we spent the rest of the evening together.” She told him. She saw a mix of emotions in his eyes. Sadness, anger, but what she didn't understand was why he felt betrayal.
“Roy?” She looked at him with confusion locked on her features.
“It's nothing,” He said as he stood up.
“Are you sure it's me you're in love with?” She asked him. He looked at her with shock. What did she say?
“What?” Roy looked at her with complete shock and surprise on his face.
“I saw you making eyes at my brother.” She told him. Was it true? Was he in love with Edward?
“You need to tell him and you also need to stop being so cold towards me for not wanting you,” She told him as she stood up.
“You're right about being cold to you, I'm sorry, but I'll need to think about this for a while.” Roy sighed.
“Alright, now, are you going to do you're job as a sensei or am I going to have to burn myself alive before you step in.” She smiled at him.
“Sensei? Am I you're Sensei?” He asked as an eyebrow arched.
“You know Xingian?” She asked now it was her turn to raise an eyebrow.
“My mother is Xingian,” Roy told her and she smiled largely. She walked over to Roy and started to pull him to his study.
“Gloves Roy, I'm dying to play with them!” Jay giggled. It was the first time he'd seen her so relaxed and childish.
“They're in the top drawer.” He told her and she opened it. There were two sets of ignition gloves sitting inside. She pulled them both out and tossed a pair to Roy.
“Let's get started.”
