(Meanwhile)

A short blonde haired boy and this huge armor beside him could be seen walking down the narrow sidewalk, in the dark night. The blonde haired boy of course revealed to be Ed, and his expression still hold that same look as when he had exited out of the library just now.

"Don't worry brother. There has to be something else we can do..." The armor said, beside Ed that oddly sounded like a little boy.

"There's nothing we can do Al, it said it right there in the book. I seen it with my own eyes...The image won't even go away." Ed said, with his voice still holding that dullness.

The emotionless armor that was obviously named Al, then pauses for a min. Trying to find something else to say.

"Well maybe that’s not the only way...Maybe you just read it wrong." Al said, still trying to hold in his faith.

"Dammit Al! Don't you understand? I went through most of Marcoh's whole research, that why I was in that library for so damn long! And to think of all the searching we did..." Ed said, calming down for a moment. "This is the answer we get...?"

Al only stared at his brother, with no emotion whatsoever. But in the inside, he was hurting just as much as he was.

"We might as well, except the facts that were going to be stuck like this for the rest of our lives..." Ed stated.

"No." Al said, shaking his metal head in disagreement. This is not what he wanted to hear, they come too far to just give up.

"Yes. There is no other way Al. We can't change that, we're not Gods remember?"

Al paused for a min, he was about to speak again. Instead decided to stay quiet on it. It was true, they were not Gods and you could not do anything around what is said and done, no matter how horrid the situation is.

(10 Mins Passed)

As 10 mins passed by Ed and Al had made it up to the Central Military Headquarters. Both of them now where settled into a dorm room, Ed was sprawled out on a couch, with his red jacket now off of him and revealing more of his black attire, while the armor named Al was beside him. Silence pierced the room; the two of them were not talking to each other, just more into their thoughts.

"I thought maybe I could go around it and find a better method. But I was wrong..." Ed said, in a low whisper, while breaking the silence.

Once again Al did not say anything, there was really not have much to be said about the situation. Ed then lets out this heavy sigh...

"There is no other way...God must really hate people who go against him. I was 11 years old back then and he still has me marked."

Suddenly the sound of knocking from the door was heard. A male voice was speaking through it.

"Edward? I know you’re in there. Open up this door..." The voice demanded.

Ed's face seems to cringe with disgust, while hearing the voice too. It obviously was someone he disliked greatly.

"Go away! We wish to be left alone."

"I'm afraid we can't do that. Now open up this door FullMetal." The superior voice spoke again, now with a tinge of annoyance in it.

Ed only let out frustrated sigh, shifting his weight on the couch until his back was to the door. From the looks of things, he wasn't budging. The knocking however, continued getting harder and more abruptly. Al couldn't take any more and just decided to open up the door himself, (which he did) to see the Colonel, Roy Mustang, along with first Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye beside him. And behind the two of them were these other two military security personnel’s named Maria Ross and Denny Bloch. It indeed was a full round of visitors.

"Thanks for opening up the door kid..." Roy said to Al, while making his way into the room. Along with the others following him behind.

Ed took a glance back in the corner of his eye to see the four intruders, and he lets out an even more aggravated sigh. He really didn't feel like being bothered right now.

"Well Ed seems like you had been put down in the dumps again..." Roy said, in a smirk; he obviously didn't know what the blonde haired boy was so depressed about.

"Leave me alone..." Ed said, lowly.

"Can't do that. We got another report for you."

Ed didn't say anything; it was the same as it always was. Every time a mystery or a war broke out he had to be the first one stuck investigating it.
On the other hand, Roy assumed Ed was listening to him so he continued. "It seems down in Lior they have another serial killer aboard."

"A serial killer?" Al said, in curiosity.

"Yeah our reports just came in, that it could be Scar." Riza spoke up, while clearing her throat a little. "We would like you and Ed to follow up on what's going on. Me and the Colonel will be arriving in Lior shortly."

"Well since you guys will be coming there anyway...Why can't 'you' do the investigating yourselves?" Ed announced, with a gruff attitude.

"Because we don't follow orders from you. You follow orders from us..." Roy said, with a simple manner.

A low dangerous growl was only heard as a response from Ed. A wry smirk then appears on Roy's face, as he heard it.

"Anyways Lt. Ross and Lt. Bloch will be accompanying you two there as well." Roy continued.

That statement right there had caused Ed to actually turn around on the couch and sit up. Everyone around could see his face was stretched with dismal and pure anger.

"Oh so now you giving us babysitters?" Ed questioned, completely annoyed. Then quickly he shakes his head. "Ah...Forget it! I'm not going anyway..."

"Brother?" Alphonse said, shocked while looking at Ed.

"It doesn't matter anymore anyway! We might as well give up on all we've been doing! On all what we've been searching for!"

"The stone, was it?" Roy stated. "How's it going so far?"

Ed only stared up at Mustang with pure rage; he should know darn well, how it's going. Everything was going downhill as far as Ed was concern. Nonetheless, the blonde haired boy didn't answer the question he instead just got up from the couch and headed out the door. Everyone in the room looked at him confused by what was going on.

"Brother!" Al called out to him, while going up to the door. He saw Ed walking down the hallway, but then he quickly broke out into a run heading down the stairs. "Brother!"

Al started to go after him, until a hand was placed firmly on his broad metal shoulder plate, which had stopped him from going any further.

"Let him be kid." Roy suggested.

"But--"

"He just needs some time to himself. We can at least give him that, now can we?" Roy said, while looking at Al with an understanding smile.

"But..." Al repeated, and then lets out a sigh. "I guess so."

"Trust me, he will come back." Roy said, and then looks to the door (that Ed just ran out of).

Roy figured something had to be going on with the stone information. He was sure Ed now had found out the truth about the philosopher stone. However, he never told Ed and Al this secret, but he did knew what that last ingredient was to make that Philosopher Stone...He just never had the stamina to tell the boys, the devastating answer.
